"How did you handle a difficult situation?" in Job Interview

03:46
"Tell me about a difficult situation or challenge you faced in a workplace" By asking this question, employers are trying to see how you (A) take charge in handling a challenging situation, or (B) collaborate with your coworkers as a team to solve a conflict. They want to know if you have critical thinking and problem solving skill, how you approach the problem and the level of responsibility you take in challenging situations. It is very important to make sure that you use an example that demonstrates your ability to handle difficult situation. So do not mention about when you elevated the responsibility. Rather, talk about times when you stepped up and took a leadership position by collaborating with your coworkers. In order to construct effective story, use PAR model and follow the 3 steps. 1 Problem: Identify the problem. What was the issue? 2 Action: How did you and your coworkers analyzed the problem and took actions to solve the issue? 3 Result: What was the positive outcome in result of the action? By following PAR model, you can frame your story well. Watch the video to see example answer and start constructing your answer. Jobspeaker is a FREE service to help job seekers find better jobs. 08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills

12:25
08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills 1. "Tell me a little about yourself." You should take this opportunity to show your communication skills by speaking clearly and concisely in an organized manner. Because there is no right or wrong answer for this question, it is important to appear friendly. 2. "What are your strengths?" This is a popular interview question. They want to know what you think of yourself. Although this is a general question, there is a wrong and right answer. The wrong answer is a generic answer saying you are organized and friendly. Although it will not hurt you during the interview, it will certainly not help you either. Answer this question based on the type of job you are applying for. 3. "What are your weaknesses?" For this answer, you should display a weakness that can be seen as a strength. There are many types of answers that will work. Some answers will be good answers for certain jobs, while the same answer will be a bad answer for a different job. Select an answer that will work for the position you are applying for. 4. "Where do you see yourself in five years?" This question primarily depends on where you are in your career. A person with 5 years of experience will have different goals than a person with no work experience. This question is asked to see how serious a candidate is about his or her career. Some people might not know their goals, and some people might have goals of becoming rich and retiring early. Those are incorrect answers for this question. The type of answer you want to give is an ambitious answer that shows you really love your career. A good interviewer will read between the lines and find out if a person is going to be a hard worker or just a mediocre one. Being descriptive and shooting for a big goal is something interviewers want to hear. 5. "What do you know about our company?" A typical job interview question, asked to find out how much company research you have conducted, is "What do you know about this company?" Prepare in advance, and in a word, research, so you can provide relevant and current information about your prospective employer to the interviewer. 6. "Are you good at dealing with change?" Dealing with change is common in the work place. A simple yes will not be sufficient to impress the interviewer. This is another type of question where everyone will have similar answers. Of course everyone is going to claim being excellent dealing with change. You got to communicate that you are really good at dealing with change. 7. "Do you work well under pressure?" In most cases, the best answer to this question is answering yes. Working well under pressure is a good trait to have. However, I think if you answer that you work the same with pressure and without pressure, the interviewer will be more impressed. However, you will need to explain in words why this is better. 8. "How do you make important decisions?" There are many ways to answer this question, and if you have a reasonable method of making decisions, it will probably be sufficient. One answer I thought of included not being afraid of asking your manager. You can follow up by saying even the best needs mentoring, and you always want to improve. So basically, this could work as an answer, but depending on the job, you might have a better shot with an answer like my example.

5 Best Interview Tips | HR Crest

08:39
http://www.hrcrest.com/hr-solutions/tips-and-tutorials/best-interview-tips-for-personal-interview/ 5 Best Interview Tips From HRcrest.com Let's be very practical. Many experts have suggested through articles, interviews, forums etc., that one needs to very original in one's approach at the time of interview. Many people followed this principle as a sincere and prospective candidate, but the end result was not very conducive. Many of us have heard these famous lines at the time of feedback from the interviewer/s-"Better luck next time, you were good but our job demands something else, you are not the right fit for this job, thanks you so much for being here..."and it goes on...Surprising right!!! Don't be. Always remember- always speak what the interviewer wants to hear from you. Or expects you to speak...Therefore, at times you need to act by projecting what you are not. And that's why you prepare yourself hard; attend personality development classes; joining language classes and what not. This clearly states that the world follows a particular dimension within which we need to enact... Otherwise, no matter how original or good you are, if you fail to live up to the preformed standards, you are always going to fall short to the finishing line. And this is very much applicable when we talk about 'facing interviews'. 5 Best Interview Tips | HR Crest

How to introduce yourself in a job interview

14:38
Have you ever wondered that why despite of having listed all the details about yourself in the resume, the interviewer still likes to start the session by asking you “Tell me something about yourself” The reason for this is that people like listening to information been presented to them in the form of verbal expression in contrast to referring to a printed document. Yes this simply means that they directly like to hear from the horses’s mouth that how would the candidates like to narrate the story of their life, in their own words. “Tell us something about yourself” doesn’t means that you go right back to your childhood memories and share tales of your first love or your favorite ROCK band or your obsession with Harry Potter; rather think about the awards, accolades or experiences you’ve had in your life. Consider the themes, personality traits and skills that come across through these experiences and introspect that which of these are the most important to get across through recruiters. Through personal introduction, the interviewer is giving you a chance to highlight all the key features of your personal and professional life, the top experiences you’ve had so far and the most influential skills you possess. Follow the points mentioned in the video, the next time you face a job interview and enhance the chances of you getting selected!!

You exchange information. You need to have the right responses to the employer’s questions. You need to ask good questions. You need the right background. You need to impress. 1. It’s about their future, not your past. You need to get the interviewers, the most senior interviewers, thinking into the future. If you can't get them to imagine what their life will be like and what their company will look like with you there, you'll never get hired. 2. Leaders are inclusive and inspiring. You need to be the high tide that lifts all the boats. Leaders build more leaders. They don't build more followers. You need to show them you're great at inspiring and inclusive. You're great at building teams. 3. Stay away from one-and-done questions because then you’ll be done. Specifically, I mean asking a great question, then receiving their response, and then moving on to the next question. That's the big mistake! The message you're sending to them is that you are a puddle skipper. You are not somebody who's digging deep to get information and collecting it all. You're not well researched. You’re not digging deep enough to get the information you need to make a good decision. -------------------- ABOUT ANDREW -------------------- Andrew LaCivita is an internationally recognized executive recruiter, award-winning author, trainer, and founder and chief executive officer of milewalk and the milewalk Academy. GO get a cup of coffee, relax, and then start the masterclass. Alright, let’s start; how to pass HR interviews… Let’s talk about this. When you reverse engineer getting a job, most people – probably including you go through these steps; Job Interview Application Right? You think it’s a simple 3-step process. To get the interview you need to make an application, to get the job you need to interview. Here is where most of you make the mistake. It’s not a 3-step journey getting a job. It’s a 4-step journey. And misunderstanding this is one of the major reasons you fail interviews. So, let’s walk backwards again; Job, Hiring manager interview HR interview Hiring manager interview and HR interview are so different that no one in their right mind should group them together. What works for your HR interview won’t work for your Hiring Manager interview and vice versa. Now I know this seems obvious but it’s absolutely crazy how many people make this mistake. So now let me teach you what works for your HR interview; INTRO; HOW TO PASS HR INTERVIEWS WITH EASE Let’s lay the groundwork first. Look, you have to be extremely lucky to pass HR interview playing her own game. Seriously, her game involves Myer’s Briggs Character Type Indicators, like oh you have to be ENTP character to be a management consultant or ENTJ to be a salesperson, or you have to be ISTJ to be an accountant. You lose your shot even before you know about it. And then you go around trying to understand why you even failed that interview. You have no clue. Yeah, because maybe you didn’t demonstrate the indicators of ENTP character or you just simply didn’t give the answers that she thought were the right. This is a lose-lose game. You can’t beat HR in her own game. That’s why in my LIG course, one of the strategies I teach is just to simply bypass them. We don’t bother with HR. As I said, it’s a lose-lose game. But you are not an LIG participant yet, so let me teach you what to do if you happen to have an interview with HR. So, then what to do right? Well, you beat HR in your own game. I’ll get to it in a second. But I need you to first visualize HR in your mind. Who is HR? They are usually anywhere between 22 to 28 years old, they have very little understanding of the actual work you’ll be undertaking. Their understanding of the subject matter is incredibly low. You beat them with your expertise, and confuse the heck out of them with terminologies, methodologies that they won't even know that exist. So, you need to sort of exaggerating your value adds and expertise so much that the HR with her own little expertise in the topic of – what we do - has no option but to pass you on to the hiring manager. How to answer "Tell Me About Yourself"?

04:26
“Tell me about yourself” probably is the most commonly asked question in interviews. How you answer this question greatly affects the first impression you give, and it sets the tone for the entire interview. How should you answer this question? -Here is our tips. 1 Keep it professional ---Give a good first impression ---Do not volunteer personal information Interviewers are not asking this question because they want to know your personal life. Do not mention your favorite sport team or artist, but rather present yourself as a professional. Good answer to this question proves why you are the best candidate for the position. 2 Highlight your experience and skills ---Tailor your answer for the job position ---Study the job description and relate the answer Highlight education, work experience, and skills that are relevant and helps to prove you are the best candidate. If you do not have working experience, think about transferable skills that you developed at school or in private life that supports your answer. 3 Give answers in chronological order Keep your answers in chronological order to make it easy for interviewers to understand. Quickly organize your answer before stating! Here is a good example to start your answer. "I believe I have a very solid background in medical assisting. I earned my degree in medical assisting where I learned viable skills, such as taking vitals, administering injections, explaining treatment procedures to patients, and preparing patients for examination.....” Remember, keep it professional, highlight your skills/experiences that are relevant, and organize your answer. Follow these steps and practice your answer before the interview. What do you think? Comment below and share us your experience! Interview Questions: Tell Me About Yourself

04:19
Join our job search classes at http://vyten.com/ In this interview tips series, we talk about the most common first question you'll be asked in a job interview, what you should say, what you definitely should not say, and how to answer this question with ease. CONNECT WITH US Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vytenprep Twitter: https://twitter.com/vyten Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/vyten/ Blog: http://www.vyten.com/blog/ Website:http://www.vyten.com/ WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SAY? The interviewer wants to know about your working habits, whether you’re reliable, and what you have accomplished in the past. Focus on your experiences and accomplishments that are most relevant to the position. Keep in mind that the interviewer is not asking for a full-length biography. It’s safe to keep the answer around 2 to 3 minutes. At the same time, you want to show that you know what the company does and that you have an idea what the company is looking for. Make sure you do a quick Google search and look for recent headlines in the news. Use this information to choose which accomplishments to highlight, and try to present them in a way that is similar to the job description. BREAK IT DOWN When answering the question, highlight the following: 1. Education & Experience 2. Highlight Most Important and Relevant Accomplishments 3. Drive, Energy, and Motivation If you highlight your education, relevant accomplishments, and your drive, you show that you can be a great fit for both the role and the organization. LASTLY Be sure to practice this answer over and over again. It is a really important question that can make or break the interview. It’s your first impression, and you want it to be as effective as possible. Sell what the interview is buying. Be interested and fit your experience with what they are looking for. Finally, be brief. Think of this as a movie preview. You want to hook the interviewer in by briefly highlighting aspects of yourself that the interviewer will find most appealing.
