PMBOK 6: Earned Value Management Analysis in simple language
The video starts with an example. A contractor was given a project to install 50 desktop machines for a client at USD 1000 in 5 days. So the total contract is for USD 1000. The project manager analyzed and figures out that it requires USD 100 for 10 machines per day in 5 days. Estimation of USD 100 per day makes the project cost as USD 500. USD 500 is the project cost baseline. The project cost baseline has nothing to do with what the contractor is getting. These are 2 separate conversations. This is explained in a very simple language with the help of a Table. The Table contains Day 1 to Day 5 as Rows and Plan value, Actual value and Earned value as columns. On Day-1 you install 7 machines and actually spent USD 120, whereas planned was USD 100. So you can say that you have spent USD 120 against USD 100 and installed 7 machines against 10 machines. But as per the plan, you were supposed to spend USD 10 per machine. Now earned value comes into the picture. Earned value is a combination of actual quantity and planned rate. It is the terminology what is the worth of work completed against my budget. Earned value = the value of work you have done=7 *10 = USD 70 on Day1 On Day1 we actually have done the work worth USD 70 whereas we have spent USD 120 Here Planned Value =USD 100, Actual Value=USD 120 and Earned Value= USD 70. In simple language Earned value is the value of my completed work as per my cost baseline. What is PROJECT MANAGEMENT SIMULATION? What does PROJECT MANAGEMENT SIMULATION mean? PROJECT MANAGEMENT SIMULATION meaning - PROJECT MANAGEMENT SIMULATION definition - PROJECT MANAGEMENT SIMULATION explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Project management simulation is simulation used for project management training and analysis. Project management simulation is often used as training simulation for project managers. In other cases it is used for what-if analysis and for supporting decision-making in real projects. Frequently the simulation is conducted using software tools. Project management simulation for training is an interactive learning activity, frequently practiced as a group exercise. The purpose of the simulation is to impart to students the competencies (i.e. knowledge, skills, and attitudes) that will ultimately improve their performance. It confronts trainees with the situations and problems that arise in real world projects. Trainees see the consequences of the decisions they make. They can track the evolution of the project parameters: scope, costs, schedule, and quality, as well as human factors. The simulation provides an opportunity for learners to solve typical project problems, to make mistakes and analyze them. Pedagogic goals of project management simulation can be to teach how to: determine goal and objectives of a project; estimate cost; plan tasks of the project; plan resources in a project; use project management tools; control the progress of a project; make team decisions under stress; react appropriately in typical project management situations Different studies suggest that using simulation-based training for training project managers is superior to other methods. Project management simulation is used to analyze real projects. The goal of the simulation is to show the user the different possible outcomes of his decisions, along with the probability that each outcome will occur. The simulation helps in reducing the project risk and in choosing the best project plan. In a typical simulation the project is first modeled into a software tool along with uncertain variables. A simulation is then run to check the different possible outcomes and their probability as a result of different inputs for the uncertain variables.

Remodel Cost Analysis & Project Management Calculator Tutorial
The Remodel Cost Analysis & Project Management Calculator provides remodelers a very valuable resource for creating preliminary cost estimates for rehbab projects, managing budgets and scopes of work. The tool also features a budget tracker so you can analyze cost overruns and track expenses to stay within budget. There is also a scheduler that automatically calculates the man hours for each work item based on the quantity of materials; you can then use this feature to track the original schedule against the actual schedule. The project management functions allow you to manage scopes of work for each subcontractor on-site; the auto-filter buttons at the top of each column allow the user to sort work items by trade to easily establish scopes of work for contractors and their budgets. Also, if you are a rehabber that is handy and can self-perform some of the work there is an area where you can designate whether you will be DIYing the work or subbing it out. This will automatically calcuate the self-performed costs compared to the hired-out costs and calculate your savings.
