Porter's Five Forces - A Practical Example

07:46
According to Porter's five forces framework the competitive environment in an industry is influenced by five forces: • The Threat of new entrants; • The Threat of substitute products; • The Rivalry among existing firms; • The Bargaining power of buyers; • And the Bargaining power of suppliers. The five forces model teaches us that competition has multiple dimensions. It is important how many direct competitors we have, but it is also important if clients can choose to use alternative products, or if new entrants are likely to enter the market and increase current levels of competition. In addition, we shouldn’t forget that clients and suppliers can have a very strong bargaining power, and dictate the terms if the companies in an industry are unable to do anything about it. UML Use Case Diagram Tutorial

13:24
Learn how to make Use Case Diagrams in this tutorial. Both beginners and intermediate UML diagrammers will find all the necessary training and examples on systems, actors, use cases, and include and extend relationships. UML Use Case Diagrams show a system or application; then they show the people, organizations, or other systems that interact with it; and finally, they show a basic flow of what the system or application does. This tutorial explains the four main characteristics of Use Case Diagrams: systems, actors, use cases, and relationships. A system is whatever you’re developing. It could be a website, a software component, a business process, an app, or any number of other things. You represent a system with a rectangle. The next aspect of Use Case Diagrams are actors. An actor is going to be someone or something that uses our system to achieve a goal, and they're represented by a stick figure. Use Cases are elements that really start to describe what the system does. They're depicted with an oval shape and they represent an action that accomplishes some sort of task within the system. The final element in Use Case Diagrams are relationships, which show how actors and use cases interact with each other. There are different types of relationships (like association, include, extend, and generalization) that are represented by varying types of lines and arrows. —— Learn more and sign up: http://www.lucidchart.com Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lucidchart Twitter: https://twitter.com/lucidchart Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lucidchart LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/lucidsoftware

Simple Risk

25:02
This module defines "simple risk," using this definition to drive an analysis of the telecommunications industry. Also discusses the limitations of this definition, especially when considering human-made incidents, versus random accidents. Uses the 1995 Oklahoma Federal Building bombing as an example of risk due to human-caused incident. Also discusses Return-On-Investment (ROI), an extension of risk that incorporates a cost-benefit factor. Finally, addresses how risk affects the decisions made by policymakers, and suggests effective ways for policymakers to get the most "bang for the buck" in terms of protecting and hardening critical infrastructure (CI). Black Mirror: Bandersnatch: Ending Explained Analysis | My Choices + Outcomes | Spoiler Talk Review

06:22
In this video I will be breaking down the new Black Mirror Netflix Event: Bandersnatch. Throughout it I will be discussing my choices as well as how they effected the ending in my spoiler talk ending explained review. #BlackMirror #Netflix #Bandersnatch Black Mirror: Bandersnatch has just hit Netflix and the TV’s unique premise leaves a lot to unpack from it. The show presents a pick your own adventure style of story telling that allows the viewer to effect the outcome of the story due to the choices that they make whilst watching it. Reportedly there is over 312 minutes of footage that is condensed into roughly 90 depending on the plot branches that watchers take. Throughout this video I will be breaking down the choices that I made and explaining what I took from the ending. There will of course be heavy spoilers so if you don’t want to know anything about Bandersnatch then I highly suggest that you turn off now. For everyone else, I’m Deffinition and welcome to the channel where I ruin it so you don’t have to. Bandersnatch: Ending Explained Set in 1984 we follow Stefan a game designers who is showcasing his game Bandersnatch, based on the book of the same name. We watched him start the day off smiling because he chose Sugar Puffs and then Now 2 which is of course the right thing to do as this allows us to hear the Eurithymics and start the day off on the right track. Upon reaching the Game design studio we see a poster for Metl hedd which of course ties into the Black Mirror episode of the same name and confirms that this was indeed a computer game as many viewers theorised. Stefan then showcases his game Bandersnatch which too revolves around choices, similar to the episode itself. Stefan accepts a job offer from the company and we flash forward five months and see that Bandersnatch is recieving exetremly negative reviews. Stefan defiantly states that he wishes to start again and then we are transported back to 1984 in which Stefan relives the same choices, aware of the outcome similar to a game in which players are able to replay and effect the outcome with hindsight. Stefan this time refuses the offer to work with a team and instead states that he wishes to complete the project from home. Again we flash forward 5 months and see that the game is receiving rave reviews. We then join the character in therapy discussing his mother’s passing which I decided to talk about openly. We learn that after Stefan couldn’t find a child’s toy that his father hid, he refused to go with his mother and she was killed on a train that derailed. Stefan feels guilt but also blames his father as she would not have been on it had he not held her up. This highlights the even the most meaningless events have grand consequences. When out shopping Jerome picks up a book called ‘The Lives Of Jerome F Davies’ which discusses the biography of the creator of The Bandersnatch book. Stefan uses the perspectives presented in it and redesigns his game. Here I chose shouting at his father instead of destroying the game as this seemingly was the lesser of two evils but in the end it caused the character to spiral further into his obsession. This was made worse when I made Stefan refuse therapy and instead had him follow Colin who makes him take LSD in order to heighten his reality and help pull him out of the hole he is in design wise. Colin informs Stefan that time is cyclical and that mirrors allow you to move through time and through flashbacks we can alter the choices we make to alter the present. Colin proves that life doesn’t matter because of the altered paths and commits suicide which causes Stefan to flashback and Music: ➤ Free Download / Buy Untagged | http://bsta.rs/xmg875 Outro Music By Lakey Inspired » Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/lakeyinspired » Spotify: https://goo.gl/aLkwM5 » SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired » Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lakeyinspired/ » SnapChat: Lakeyinspired Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research.Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research. The Business Model Canvas - 9 Steps to Creating a Successful Business Model - Startup Tips

09:42
The Business Model Canvas - 9 Steps to Creating a Successful Business Model - Startup Tips The Business Model Canvas, is a strategic management and entrepreneurial tool. It allows you to describe, design, challenge, invent, and pivot your business model. The Business Model Canvas is comprised of 9 key segments: The left hand section of the Business Model Canvas is the Infrastructure section and comprises three key areas: Key Activities: The most important activities in executing a company's value proposition. Key Resources: The resources that are necessary to create value for the customer. Partner Network: In order to optimize operations and reduce risks of a business model, organization usually cultivate buyer-supplier relationships so they can focus on their core activity. The middle section of the canvas describes the business offering and is the value proposition delivered to different customer segments. Value Propositions: The collection of products and services a business offers to meet the needs of its customers. According to Osterwalder, (2004), a company's value proposition is what distinguishes itself from its competitors. The value proposition provides value through various elements such as newness, performance, customization, "getting the job done", design, brand/status, price, cost reduction, risk reduction, accessibility, and convenience/usability. The value propositions may be: Quantitative – price and efficiency Qualitative – overall customer experience and outcome The right hand side of the Business Model Canvas describes the customers, the channels through which you deliver services and and the relationships you have with your customers. Customer Segments: To build an effective business model, a company must identify which customers it tries to serve. Various sets of customers can be segmented based on the different needs and attributes to ensure appropriate implementation of corporate strategy meets the characteristics of selected group of clients. Channels: A company can deliver its value proposition to its targeted customers through different channels. Effective channels will distribute a company’s value proposition in ways that are fast, efficient and cost effective. An organization can reach its clients either through its own channels (store front), partner channels (major distributors), or a combination of both. Customer Relationships: To ensure the survival and success of any businesses, companies must identify the type of relationship they want to create with their customer segments. The bottom section of the canvas describes the finances. Cost Structure: This describes the most important monetary consequences while operating under different business models. A company's DOC. Revenue Streams: The way a company makes income from each customer segment. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIypuA7lS-FsVG6cMlNCK2w?sub_confirmation=1 Check out some of our other videos Compensation claims - how long should it take https://youtu.be/NuxfrgSTg78 LLC vs S Corp https://youtu.be/4xNCnf9hitw Minizing tax https://youtu.be/ybSnFb6rx6Y How to fund a startup https://youtu.be/ctzDb59sw5M Kickstarter success Ep 1 https://youtu.be/2EG78JNZ7nA Kickstarter success Ep 2 https://youtu.be/ZMlq5CmUNz8 How to pitch to investors with Guy Kawasaki https://youtu.be/-epR-uGlv4M If you are interested in sustainability issues then check this video out The Sustainable Business Model Canvas https://youtu.be/gVimMEI2u2w

Loving what I'm tasting, Venom on my tongue, Dependent at times. Poisonous vibrations, Help my body run, I'm running for my life. Fall out of formation, I plan my escape, From walls they confined. Rebel red carnation, Grows while I decay, I'm running for my life. Hide you in my coat pocket, Where I kept my rebel red, I felt I was invincible, You wrapped around my head, Now different lives I lead, My body lives on lead, The last two lines may read, Incorrect until said, The lead is terrible in flavor, But now you double as a paper maker, I despise you sometimes, I love to hate the fight, And you in my life is like... I'm so sorry I forgot you, Let me catch you up to speed, I've been tested like the ends of, A weathered flag that's by the sea. Can you build my house with pieces? I'm just a chemical. 16 FAMOUS LOGOS WITH A HIDDEN MEANING (That We Never Even Noticed)

06:29
How to design a successful logo? How to build a famous brand for your business? Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. #logomeaning #logosecret # Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. Amazon 2:14 The orange arrow is similar to a smile because the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product you can imagine. Baskin Robbins 2:40 The pink-colored parts of the "BR" section make up the number 31, which is how many ice cream flavors Baskin Robbins used to famously sell. Toyota 2:56 The logo represents a stylized image of a needle eye with a thread passing through it. This is a hint at the company’s past – they used to produce weaving machines. Continental 3:28 Continental, a famous car tire producer, has a logo in which the first two letters depict a car wheel. Formula 1 3:41 If you look carefully at the white space between the letter ’F’ and the red stripes, you can see the number 1. Pinterest 3:59 On Pinterest, people collect images they like from across the Internet and ’pin’ them to their online boards. That’s why the image of a pin is hidden in the letter P. Beats 4:17 Beats, an audio equipment producer based in the USA, uses a logo in which the letter ’B’ looks like headphones on a person’s head. Toblerone 4:32 The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, has a silhouette of a bear in its logo. That's because Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. BMW 4:55 The logo is simply a part of the Bavarian flag, the area of Germany where the company originated. LG 5:18 The logo is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to have human relations with their customers. Evernote 5:34 The corner of the elephant’s ear is folded over in a similar way how people fold the corner of a page to make notes. Coca-Cola 5:57 In the space between the letters ’O’ and ’L’, you can see the Danish flag. It’s purely a coincidence. Nevertheless, Coca-Cola has used this as part of its marketing campaigns in the Scandinavian country. If you’ve enjoyed this video, hit that thumbs up button! 2017 EuroLLVM Developers’ Meeting: G. Horvath “Cross Translational Unit Analysis in Clang ...”

42:17
http://www.LLVM.org/devmtg/2017-03/ — Cross Translational Unit Analysis in Clang Static Analyzer: Prototype and Measurements - Gabor Horvath, ELTE Slides: http://llvm.org/devmtg/2017-03//assets/slides/cross_translation_unit_analysis_in_clang_static_analyzer.pdf — Today Clang Static Analyzer [4] can perform (context-sensitive) interprocedural analysis for C,C++ and Objective C files by inlining the called function into the callers' context. This means that that the full calling context (assumptions about the values of function parameters, global variables) is passed when analyzing the called function and then the assumptions about the returned value is passed back to the caller. This works well for function calls within a translation unit (TU), but when the symbolic execution reaches a function that is implemented in another TU, the analyzer engine skips the analysis of the called function definition. In particular, assumptions about references and pointers passed as function parameters get invalidated, and the return value of the function will be unknown. Losing information this way may lead to false positive and false negative findings. The cross translation unit (CTU) feature allows the analysis of called functions even if the definition of the function is external to the currently analyzed TU. This would allow detection of bugs in library functions stemming from incorrect usage (e.g. a library assumes that the user will free a memory block allocated by the library), and allows for more precise analysis of the caller in general if a TU external function is invoked (by not losing assumptions). We implemented (based on the prototype by A. Sidorin, et al. [2]) the Cross Translation Unit analysis feature for Clang SA (4.0) and evaluated its performance on various open source projects. In our presentation, we show that by using the CTU feature we found many new true positive reports and eliminated some false positives in real open source projects. We show that while the total analysis time increases by 2-3 times compared to the non-CTU analysis time, the execution remains scalable in the number of CPUs. We also point out how the analysis coverage changes that may lead to the loss of reports compared to the non-CTU baseline version. — Videos Filmed & Edited by Bash Films: http://www.BashFilms.com
