I still had a tonne of PC parts left over just before my house move so decided I’d cram them into some kind of PC. Everything from VOIP cards to a dual Opteron 4334 on a giant ATX board went into the CiT G Force Black Midi Tower gaming case - £25 of ATX case with three LED fans, a side-window and PSU shroud. For that price I had to try it out but how did it actually cope when fully laden with everything I could throw at it? See the full spec and read more over at https://guyrobottv.wordpress.com/2017/05/31/dual-opteron-server-build-in-cheapest-led-atx-case-available-cit-gforce-gaming-case/ ★★★ Follow Me on Social Media for More ★★★ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/GuyRobotSubscribeYouTube WordPress: http://bit.ly/GuyRobotWordPress (more details for each video) Twitter: http://bit.ly/GuyRobotTwitter (keep up to date with me daily) Facebook: http://bit.ly/GuyRobotFacebook ★★★ Credits ★★★ Music by Ozzed - http://ozzed.net Design by Eighty3 - http://www.eighty3.co.uk ★★★More Information ★★★ Just before Christmas I found out I was going to have to move and wanted to do something with the giant pile of PC bits that was on my desk. I previously built a router and a NAS but with the clock ticking for the house move I really wanted to get a bunch of random parts put together into something a little more durable than a cardboard box - thus came the ultimate spare-part PC. The only problem was that I had no case and no money and the motherboard in question was a full sized ATX case making most motherboards expense. The solution? The cheapest possible ATX LED case on the internet at just £25 - the CiT GForce Gaming Case. Gloss black plastic, three fans with green LEDs, a memory card reader, front audio and USB, a side window and a power supply shroud for just £25. What could possibly go wrong. The parts to go inside this were everything I had leftover from previous builds and were quite the mix: ASUS KCMA D-8 Opteron workstation motherboard 2x AMD Opteron 4334 CPUs (6 cores each, 12 cores total) 2x Noctua NDO-D13 CPU coolers 1x Intel 40GB 320 Series SSD 32GB ECC RAM Palit GeForce GTX460 2x Intel PRO/1000 PT quad port gigabit network adapter OpenVox A400P11 1 FXO 1 FXS VOIP card 500W ACE single rail PSU Carry on reading over at https://guyrobottv.wordpress.com/2017/05/31/dual-opteron-server-build-in-cheapest-led-atx-case-available-cit-gforce-gaming-case/

Dual Intel Xeon E5-2670 server or workstation systems are fairly popular, but is it worth considering to AMD’s Threadripper instead? In these benchmarks I compare the differences in performance between the 1950X and two E5-2670 CPUs. Both systems have a total of 16 CPU cores with 64GB of RAM, so let’s find out how well they do. ► Subscribe for weekly tech videos! https://www.youtube.com/JarrodsTech?sub_confirmation=1 --- Follow me here --- Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/JarrodsTech Google+ - https://plus.google.com/+JarrodsTech/

[Note: this is a 29m50s video. This is supposedly the limit the camera has for a single video file. so I do get cut off at the end of this.] Both CPUs were made someplace around June 2006. So why am I using 7 year old hardware and almost 7 year old CPUs in such a box? I'll go more into detail on this later in another video. This is the Dual Opteron box I haven't given a name to really yet. the temporary hostname is Oppai. May stay with it, or may even change it. We'll see how it goes. Given I can scrounge up money for parts experimentation, I'll be able to get this running how I want it before it's deployed to my bedroom, which is not a suitable locaiton to be working on this at the moment.

This is my spare workstation built-in NZXT Phantom oo1 this consists of two AMD K10 architecture (Phenom II/Magny-Cours) CPUs, each CPU with 12 cores at 45 nanometer process for a total of 24 cores and 40 megabytes of cache. It is currently at this moment in time of me uploading this video equipped with an Radeon HD5870 1gb. I have and will be doing review on a Radeon HD 6990 dual-gpu card which based on my research is an amazing workstation GPU. Plans are to upload videos showing K-10 architecture and scaling with DirectX 12 API(Using a 290/390x or Fury X) bear in mind I don't expect this to compare anywhere near my Main RYZEN Computer. But I honestly feel like the Phenom architecture is as good or possibly better with the dx12 then with a Vishira or bulldozer

the fourth card nearly worked it's just to different of a generation to play nice with the already unstable 8400GS cards / drivers. it's a geforece 6200 something. Will find another 8400GS to trim down and fit, or i'll buy 4 new cards. forgot to mention the mainboard. Asus KGPE-D16 Dual G34 supports up to 32 cores (running 16) and up to 64GB desktop RAM or 256GB RDIMM. (running 16GB dsktp @1333) 4x use-able PCI-E 16+8+8+4 electrical (so i was wrong, 36 lanes) 1x PCI (for those of us with PCI soundcards.) Twin gigabit Serial Firewire onboard dinky video chips are opteron 6128 2.0Ghz x 8core L2 8x 512KB L3 12MB The system handles 6 (and soon 8) monitors a 10 channel soundcard, and a silly amount of programs running at the same time without skipping a beat. i have only seen max CPU usage with benchmark software. never seen it use over 11GB of ram. this is not a gaming system. it does multitasking, signal processing, lots of VMs, a bit of fractal stuff, audio work, things like that often at the same time. oh yeah, it's called "Big IAN'

Hammer Time! The K8 CPU crushed Intel's Pentium 4 back in 2003 and introduced 64-bit OS support on the x86 platform. This is Crysis running in Full HD on a Dual CPU Opteron 250 (2.4GHz), 8GB DDR1 and a ATI HD3850 AGP. It still is a pretty serious combination that feels wonderful modern and responsive. Crysis 1920 * 1080 DX9 Medium Textures everything else Low TYAN TIGER K8W Dual K8 Opteron 250 @2.4GHz 8GB RAM (4 * 2GB DDR400 ECC/R) Sapphire HD3850 512MB AGP Crucial M500 120GB SSD Enermax G465P-VE Win7 64 SP1 Recorded with Hauppauge HDPVR2 Gaming Edition.

Pause the video and go grab some popcorn....MOV H.264 Goodness I couldn't find a decent video of the AMD Opty 180 playing GTA4, so I made one. I didn't want to use fraps b/c it uses CPU cycles. So,I used my Canon instead (limited 30fps in HD) and an HDTV. You definitely need a dual-core or more CPU to play this game. I don't care what video card you have. The truth is all you need is a $50-80 video card and a cheap triple core. Computer Specs that played this. AMD Dual Core 180 @ 2.4 GHz(with dual-core optimizer) (Denmark) Same as AMD 4800 X2 just more cache 1MB vs 512KB. Asus A8V BIOS rev 1.17 1Gig Ram DDR400 Stock speed 4670 AGP 1 GIG RAM (Fastest card available for AGP) 120 Gig HD SATA - NOT SSD :( I was thinking the fps avg was about 10-15fps in this video w/ latest drivers. I'll post a video with fraps recording to a separate hard drive later. This was only for experimental purposes to see what a maxed out 939 socket motherboard with an AGP can do and it's totally playable. I doubt PCI-E would show drastic improvement since this game is CPU dependent, not video card. Benchmark coming on it's way. WILL GTAIV RUN ON YOUR PC? YES, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A TRIPLE-CORE CPU AND $60 video card supporting DX10. I hope you know the rest about your ram....enough said. I hope we can put this to rest. This computer is by no means slow. Sandra is showing 14GOPS. I would run a higher clock, but these 90nm CPU's run hot enough as it is.
