What is a Bank

01:34
A bank is a financial institution licensed to receive deposits and make loans. Banks may also provide financial services, such as wealth management, currency exchange and safe deposit boxes. There are two types of banks: commercial/retail banks and investment banks. In most countries, banks are regulated by the national government or central bank. BREAKING DOWN 'Bank' Commercial banks are typically concerned with managing withdrawals and receiving deposits as well as supplying short-term loans to individuals and small businesses. Consumers primarily use these banks for basic checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit (CDs) and home mortgages. Examples of commercial banks include JPMorgan Chase & Company and Bank of America Corporation. Investment banks focus on providing corporate clients with services such as underwriting and assisting with merger and acquisition (M&A) activity. Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. are examples of U.S. investment banks. Central banks are chiefly responsible for currency stability, controlling inflation and monetary policy and overseeing money supply. Several of the world's major central banks include the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank, the European Central Bank, the Bank of England, the Bank of Japan, the Swiss National Bank and the People’s Bank of China. While many banks have both a brick-and-mortar and online presence, some banks have only an online presence. Online-only banks often offer consumers higher interest rates and lower fees. Convenience, interest rates and fees are the driving factors in consumers' decisions of which bank to do business with. As an alternative to banks, consumers can opt to use a credit union. Regulation of U.S. Commercial Banks U.S. banks came under immense scrutiny after the global financial crisis that occurred between 2007 and 2008. The regulatory environment for banks has tightened considerably as a result. U.S. banks are regulated at a state or national level; depending on structure, they may be regulated at both. State banks are regulated by a state's department of banking or department of financial institutions. This agency is generally responsible for regulating issues such as permitted practices, how much interest a bank can charge, and auditing and inspecting banks. National banks are regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). OCC regulations primarily cover bank capital levels, asset quality and liquidity. Banks with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance are additionally regulated by the FDIC. In response to the financial crisis, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was passed in 2010 with the intention of reducing risks in the U.S. financial system. Under this act, large banks are assessed on having sufficient capital to continue operating under challenging economic conditions. This annual assessment is referred to as a stress test. How Banks Manipulate Retail Forex Traders - Day Trading Strategy

12:09
More Bank Trading Strategies - https://www.DayTradingForexLive.com In this video, I walk through some recent market manipulation that occurred around economic data. In general, news offers a good opportunity to identify manipulation in the market which gives us a great indication of what smart money is doing. Because 5 banks control 58% of the daily forex volume, they must search out liquidity when they have the desire to buy or sell. Simply put you cannot buy what someone else is not willing to sell, and you cannot sell what someone else is not willing to buy. If they have the desire to sell, they need buying pressure and thus entering the short position is easier when the overall market direction is long. The news represents a great time when a one-directional market is likely to occur and thus allowing smart money a great opportunity to manipulate overall market sentiment. Cheapest ATM rates in Pattaya Thailand - Thanachart vs SCB bank

14:53
Cheapest ATM rates in Pattaya Thailand Thanachart vs SCB bank. Witch are the best currency rates between ATM's in Thailand ? The rates are pretty clear for cash money exchange kiosks. But when you withdraw money from an ATM it becomes very unclear. The exchange rate at ATM's are much lower and they are not always shown on the screen. Sometimes not even on the ticket. The different in rates between banks are also very high. Thanachart bank had good rates over Siam commercial bank And Bangkok bank. Hard to say where the best exchange rates in Thailand are. They change every day/week. TMB Thai military bank has also bad rates on ATM's. TT money exchange has still the best rates in Pattaya on soi Buakhao. A little pattaya vlog and a calculation at home. You can subscribe to my channel to see more videos about Thailand and pattaya in the future. Please feel free to add your thoughts in the comment section below. Thanks.

Hence, extending its support to the campaign and facilitating airport users and air travelers, AAI has decided to allow any Scheduled Commercial Bank to open and operate (on temporary basis) Currency Exchange Counter (small) for currency exchange without levying charges for space and electricity, etc. at its airports across the country upto December 31. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ☛ Visit our Official website: http://www.aninews.in/ ☛ Subscribe to our Youtube Channel - https://goo.gl/E7Fprx Enjoy and stay connected with us!! ☛ Like us: https://www.facebook.com/ANINEWS.IN ☛Follow us : https://twitter.com/ani_news ☛ Circle us : https://goo.gl/QN5kXy

What Does a Central Bank Do?

01:36
A central bank oversees a nation’s monetary system. With their ability to dictate the direction of an economy, central banks play a pivotal role in a country’s growth. In most cases, they are not a government agency, even though they serve their nation. Their responsibilities range widely, depending on their country. Central banks control monetary policy, which means they manipulate liquidity in the financial system to influence the economy. Their actions will determine currency stability, as well as the levels of inflation and employment. They also regulate banks, and provide services for a nation’s banks and its government. To control monetary policy, central banks issue currency and set interest rates on loans and bonds. Central banks raise interest rates to slow growth and avoid inflation. They’ll lower rates to spur growth. By establishing a reserve requirement, central banks dictate how much banks can loan to customers, and how much capital they must keep on hand. And when providing banking services for other banks and the government, central banks loan money to members and oversee their activity. They also manage foreign exchange reserves. In the United States, the central banking system is known as the Federal Reserve, commonly called the Fed. It includes 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks that are located throughout the country. It regulates banks, and it buys and sells Treasury bonds to set monetary policy and steer interest rates. Read more: http://www.investopedia.com/video/play/central-bank/ Copyright © Investopedia.com

In this video I explain what a bank balance sheet is and help you practice calculating the reserve ratio, the required reserves, the excess reserves, and the total change in the money supply. Remember that the total change in the money supply changes depending on if the money is deposited or if it is added via open market operations. It would probably be best to stop reading this and, instead, start practicing bank balance sheets. CBK governor: Commercial banks partly to blame for the exchange turbulence

02:33
http://bdafrica.com Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) governor Patrick Njoroge on Tuesday gave the clearest signal yet that commercial banks have been partly to blame for the exchange rate turbulence that has gripped the local money markets since the beginning of the year. Dr Njoroge said he had tightened oversight over currency dealers to stamp out indiscipline after noting that movement of the shilling was not purely a factor of demand and supply of the dollar but was also being driven by release of inaccurate information into the market
Uganda's drop in prime rates strains commercial banks

Commercial banks in Uganda say the recent drop in the prime lending rates by the Central Bank is straining their operations. According to Stanbic Bank - Uganda, the drop in the key-lending rate has cost banks close to 30 million dollars. Commercial Banks argue that despite the rate cuts, demand for credit remains low. Money and Finance: Crash Course Economics #11

10:36
So, we've been putting off a kind of basic question here. What is money? What is currency? How are the two different. Well, not to give away too much, but money has a few basic functions. It acts as a store of value, a medium of exchange, and as a unit of account. Money isn't just bills and coins. It can be anything that meets these three criteria. In US prisons, apparently, pouches of Mackerel are currency. Yes, mackerel the fish. Paper and coins work as money because they're backed by the government, which is an advantage over mackerel. So, once you've got money, you need finance. We'll talk about borrowing, lending, interest, and stocks and bonds. Also, this episode features a giant zucchini, which Adriene grew in her garden. So that's cool. Special thanks to Dave Hunt for permission to use his PiPhone video. this guy really did make an artisanal smartphone! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eaiNsFhtI8 Crash Course is on Patreon! Joseph Salerno: The War on Cash

27:31
Governments, at least modern western governments, have always hated cash transactions. Cash is private, and cash is hard to tax. So politicians trump up phony reasons like drug trafficking and money laundering to win support for bad laws like the Bank Secrecy Act of 1970, which makes even small cash transactions potentially reportable to the Feds. Today cash is under attack like never before. Ultra low interest rates are the norm for commercial bank accounts. In Europe, as the ECB ventures into negative nominal interest rates, certain banks threaten to charge customers for depositing cash. Meanwhile, certain European bonds now pay negative yields, effectively turning them into insurance products rather than financial assets. And some economists now call for the outright abolition of cash, which shows just how far some will go in their crazed belief that economic prosperity can be commanded by forcing us to spend rather than save. The War on Cash is real, and it will intensify. Here to explain is Dr. Joe Salerno, who spoke on the subject at our recent Mises Circle event in Stamford, Connecticut.

Central Bank Rates

03:22
The Central Bank has lowered its benchmark lending rate to 11% to ease access to credit after the rate of inflation dropped to 4.14% in October. A statement released by the monetary policy committee says that lower inflation and a stable exchange rate have necessitated a reduction in the CBR rate a move that is likely to signal a drop in commercial bank lending rates easing access to credit and stimulating further growth of the economy. Central bank however says high fuel prices and rising import bill still pose a major threat to the economy..

Why Bitcoin Can't Replace the US Dollar (Fiat)

10:13
Can Bitcoin / cryptocurrencies replace the US dollar / US government and fiat currencies? Can Bitcoin be the revolution that takes down the fraud that is central / commercial banks worldwide? Have they finally gone too far with zero interest rate policies and quantitative easing? Probably, but believe it or not, that is besides the point. Bitcoin is not capable of implementing even some of the most basic functions of monetary policy. For one, Bitcoin isn't even inflationary (well, it won't be in the long-term), which would be unhealthy for the economies it supports (especially for those driven by consumption). In addition, credit in a Bitcoin based economy would be rather difficult. Monetary policy helps alleviate both credit crunches and overheated economies through influencing interest rates. While such actions have been controversial, they have worked well for us (literally US) over time and has helped create some of the wealthiest nations in the world by bolstering GDP by encouraging spending when it is slow and decreasing probability of the economy overheating. Bitcoin would have to lose its function as a store of value to become a true currency that encouraged spending, in which case it would no longer really be an investment anyway. Instead, Bitcoin should operate as an alternative to traditional payment channels and fiat currencies for remittances and general business transactions for those who "opt-in." There is plenty of market share here and it is realistic. Disagree with me? Feel free to share in the comments! Also let me know your thoughts on the idea of more controversial videos like this one. I love debate, so I think I'll be making them regardless. Thanks for watching! best scalping forex

01:09
Best scalping forex. The global financial market for currency exchange is called Forex (short for English words, foreing exchange is foreign exchange). It appeared in 1976 after the world economy switched from the “gold standard” to free exchange of currencies. The need for this step is explained by the fact that it was necessary for the free movement of financial flows between different states. The original purpose of “Forex” is currency exchange, but over time, people learned to make money on the difference in exchange rates, and such speculation became for many a source of good income. After all, currency rates are very unstable, which makes buying and selling currencies really profitable. ADVANTAGES OF FOREX HIGH PROFITABILITY OF TRADE “Forex” for many has become not only a profession, but also an excellent way to preserve and increase capital. The profitability of trading on it is much greater than the rate of inflation. Traders can get high personal income. GETTING PROFITS OUTSIDE DEPENDENCE ON MARKET TREND You can trade Forex profitably, regardless of whether exchange rates are rising or falling. After all, the fall of one currency entails the rise of another. This advantage distinguishes the currency market, for example, from the stock market, where only one trend often dominates, which complicates trading and does not allow making profit from short-term deals. The above feature of "Forex" protects trading on it from the influence of economic crises. If this happens, the stock market may collapse altogether, and the currency market continues to work as if nothing had happened. ROUND-THE-CLOCK OPPORTUNITY TO EARN It is possible to conclude transactions on "Forex" 24 hours a day. This is possible because its trading platforms are located around the world in different time zones. Trade is terminated only on weekends. Well, 5 days a week, "Forex" works around the clock. THE MARKET IS NOT ATTACHED TO A SPECIFIC LOCATION "Forex" has no physical location. Transactions on it are made with the help of computer programs-terminals. You can sell and buy currency with their help from any place on Earth, provided you have access to the Internet. INTERESTING TRADE PROCESS Trading in Forex is not only profitable, but also interesting. To increase profits, you need to follow the world news and learn new features of the market. Central banks of different countries Central banks of states influence the rates of their national currencies by buying or selling them on the domestic interbank market. In addition, they determine important credit indicators (for example, the refinancing rate), which can also fluctuate national currency rates significantly. Commercial banks Commercial banks are the main Forex market makers. They are the ones who “make the market” because all the exchange transactions are made through them. This forms the overall supply and demand, which determine the exchange rate. Company Importers and Exporters A huge number of transactions in the financial markets are carried out by companies engaged in exporting or importing various products into their countries. They sell the received foreign currency for national. On the other hand, they need to buy the currencies of various countries where their international partners are located. Funds The main goal of various funds (investment, pension, insurance, hedge) - is making a profit. The size of such funds is large, so they spend their volume on Forex in large volumes, which also greatly affects the value of a particular currency unit. Dealing centers "Forex" These are non-bank organizations that provide their customers with the opportunity to enter into transactions in financial markets with small amounts of their own trading capital. At the same time, customers can not only work in the Forex market, but also perform trading activities also on CFD markets (contracts for difference). Trading through dealing centers, as a rule, is carried out using special programs, such as TeleTrade's MetaTrader.
