What drives Commodity Price Changes?

06:35
What affects Commodity Prices? http://www.contracts-for-difference.com/markets/Commodity-CFDs.html If you've found this video useful, please click the like button and share it with your friends and remember to SUBSCRIBE to remain up-to-date! This article features factors that affect commodity prices - just what does cause the price of wheat gold and oil to fluctuate? Find out by clicking the above link to see all of the factors that change commodity prices. If you want to trade on the value of commodities, you can do so in several different ways. There are spot and future markets, but most traders will use a more convenient tool, such as spreadbetting, in order to play on the volatility of commodities. There are many companies that are heavily dependent on particular commodities. For instance, petrol refineries need crude oil, and this price typically changes. So you can expect the price of crude oil to have an impact on the share price of companies like Royal Dutch Shell and BP. Even if you do not trade commodities, this is a reason you may be interested in what causes commodity prices to change. And put simply, the old standby of the economist, supply and demand, govern all the fluctuations in pricing of commodities. This is not to say that supply and demand are equally important for all types of commodities. For instance, some are more dependent on supply, whereas others have a dependency on a varying demand. Consider agricultural products. These include products like wheat and corn. You're probably not going to see a big change in demand for these products, so much as you are going to see large changes in supply. These would result from crop failures and disease, weather conditions, etc. On the other hand, the supply of metals such as gold and platinum is fairly steady at any particular time. A more powerful factor in the pricing of these is how much demand there may be, and demand changes result from increasing industrialization in Third World countries, making these metals more desirable to the population, and from societal aspects such as inflation that tend to change the attitude towards precious metals. It is worth noting that the price of commodities in certain groups tends to move up and down in tandem. In the precious metals, gold, silver, platinum, and palladium would all tend to go up and down together in value. It is unlikely that you would see the price of gold fall and the price of palladium soar at the same time. Similarly, if you consider grains such as oats, corn, and wheat, these prices are likely to move in concert. To some extent, each can be a substitute for another. If the price of oats goes up, then farmers may buy more corn to feed their livestock, and this increase in demand for corn makes that price rise too. Although we are talking about commodities, you can also see this in effect in some stocks and shares. As an example, you would usually see the shares of banks such as RBS and Barclays going up and down together, unless there is a particular scandal or revelation about one of them. It is because of this that many traders limit the amount of exposure in any particular market sector. Diversifying by buying into different companies does not give diversfication if all the companies' shares rise and fall together.

Commodity Channel Index - CCI- A Great Trading Indicator

01:11:52
The CCI Indicator fits in a category known as Oscillators. The indicator always calculates between 0 and 100 and the range gives specific signals to a trader When the CCI reads below -100, then price is said to be oversold. It has sold off to the point that it has dropped well below the normal deviation from the average. Price is currently unsustainable and is highly likely to snap back to the average soon. In all, the CCI measures how far price is moving away from an average price. We become overbought or oversold then price exceeds the normal movement (the standard deviation) away from that average. The traditional buy or sell signal would be when price crosses the +100 or -100.
Futures Market Explained

04:27
Farmers use various tools to control the many risks in agriculture. Watching the weather influences when they plant or harvest. Buying crop insurance and selecting farm bill safety net programs helps protect them from crop devastation. But they can also manage some of the threat posed by volatile market prices by participating in the futures market. Farmers can get a feel for how that works if they play Commodity Classic, an online teaching tool that uses fictitious bushels of grain in a fake futures market. But here at Harvest Public Media, we wanted to better understand how the futures market helps both producers and users of a major commodity, such as corn. And how the benefits trickle down to regular food consumers. Here’s what we learned.

Profitable Trading Strategies using CCI [Commodity Channel Index]

08:53
The Commodity Channel Index (CCI) Oscillator helps us to find out cyclical trends in security. Find out stocks based on CCI oscillator using StockEdge application. The CCI is used to identify trends not only in commodities but also in stocks and currencies. Traders and Investors use CCI to identify price reversals, price extremes, and trend strength. It has a range from +100 to -100. The area above +100 is an overbought region, the area between +100 and -100 is a normal region and the area below -100 is oversold region. The '0' (zero) line is the marker between the bull and bear territory. In a deep correction, the CCI of a stock would go below -100 and now if a bullish correction takes place, the CCI of a stock would go above -100 and if the bullishness increases the CCI of the stock would go above 0 (zero) and if the bullishness momentum continues the CCI would eventually go above +100. If a bearish reversal takes place the CCI moves below +100, then 0 (zero) and then -100. Use StockEdge application to find out stocks which are showing Bullish or Bearish signal in CCI indicator. Don’t overload your screen with indicators and display the indicators that you actually use on your charts a lot of traders overload their charts with indicators as excuse to over trade.Remember indicators are just an indication of something happening in the market they are crystal ball trying to predict the future. Don’t blame the indicators where traders and workout no matter what indicators you use your still have to take losses in trading. Two types of indicators. There are two types of markets trending and range bound or cyber to markets. A trending market looks like this but the market is moving in one direction arrange panel Cyprus market looks like this were the market is moving up and down within a specific range indicators tend to be either suited trending or range assignment markets. Indicator one RSI. The relative strength index compares the magnitude of recent gains to recent losses in the attempt to determine overbought and oversold conditions of instrument as you can see from the chart the RSI ranges from 0 to 100. Insurance is deemed to be overbought once the RSI approaches the 70 level mean that it maybe getting overvalued and is a good candidate for pullback likewise if the RSI approaches 30, then the instrument is oversold and therefore like to reverse. Traders will often use the RSI coming back out of overbought or oversold conditions as a signal to enter the market. A trade using RSI should be whether large rallies and drops in price will affect the RSI by potentially creating false buy or sell signals traders often come by the RSI such as the MACD. Indicator two MACD. Moving average convergence divergences is one of the most well-known unused indicates in technical analysis this indicator is made of two exponential moving averages which help measure momentum henchmen. These moving averages and the changing distances between them become the MACD. Convergence means the moving averages moving closer together, divergence means they’re moving away from one another. Indicator three Bollinger bands. A Bollinger band starts off as a simple moving average and has two standard deviations plotted away from it that sounds a mouthful but the important part is because standard deviation is a measure of volatility Bollinger bands adjust themselves to current market conditions. When markets become more volatile markets widen and move further away. Enjoying less volatile periods the band’s contract moving closer together. The typing of the bands of news by technical traders as an indication there may be volatility to follow. EMA + CCI INDICATOR| INTRADAY TRADING | MCX |TAMIL | NSE |COMMODITY MARKET| CTA

25:36
The commodity channel index (CCI) is an oscillator originally introduced by Donald Lambert in 1980 and featured in Commodities magazine in 1980. The Commodity Channel Index (CCI) is a versatile indicator that can be used to identify a new trend or warn of extreme conditions. Lambert originally developed CCI to identify cyclical turns in commodities, but the indicator can be successfully applied to indices, ETFs, stocks, and other securities. In general, CCI measures the current price level relative to an average price level over a given period of time. CCI is relatively high when prices are far above their average. CCI is relatively low when prices are far below their average. In this manner, CCI can be used to identify overbought and oversold levels. The following example is for a typical 20 Period CCI: CCI = (Typical Price - 20 Period SMA of TP) / (.015 x Mean Deviation) Typical Price (TP) = (High + Low + Close)/3 Constant = .015, The Constant is set at .015 for scaling purposes. By including the constant, the majority of CCI values will fall within the 100 to -100 range. There are three steps to calculating the Mean Deviation. Subtract the most recent 20 Period Simple Moving from each typical price (TP) for the Period. 2. Sum these numbers strictly using absolute values. Divide the value generated in step 3 by the total number of Periods(20 in this case). Overbought means an extended price move to the upside; oversold to the downside. When price reaches these extreme levels, a reversal is possible. 5.2 Commodity Channel Index (CPI) trading instructions

06:29
http://www.capexforextrading.com/forex-technical-indicators Commodity price index allows to identify when prices are out of their 'normal' trading range. The way in which we do this is by waiting for a reading above 100 if we are trading up (buying), and a reading below 100 when we are trading down (selling). Howevber, before we use the Commodity Channel Index, we firstly must establish that a trend is already taking place. We do this by using additional indicators such as Moving averages and the Momentum indicator. Once we have a confirmation in both indicators that a trend is taking place, we use the CCI indicator to take the trade. Watch the full Forex training video to see how we use moving averages and the momentum indicator to establish a trend and the CCI indicator for our entry.

cci intro and streak algo of zerodha Commodity Channel Index with huge profit and low stop loss

09:37
Use this algo to earn profit in share market with low risk. one of the best trading strategy technical analysis for trading in share market and its streak algo for huge profit after paying brokage. where risk/reward = 1/4 sl = 0.5% target = 2% and time interval 1 min CCI measures the difference between a security's price change and its average price change. High positive readings indicate that prices are well above their average, which is a show of strength. Low negative readings indicate that prices are well below their average, which is a show of weakness. The Commodity Channel Index (CCI) can be used as either a coincident or leading indicator. As a coincident indicator, surges above +100 reflect strong price action that can signal the start of an uptrend. Plunges below -100 reflect weak price action that can signal the start of a downtrend. As a leading indicator, chartists can look for overbought or oversold conditions that may foreshadow a mean reversion. Similarly, bullish and bearish divergences can be used to detect early momentum shifts and anticipate trend reversals. Identifying overbought and oversold levels can be tricky with the Commodity Channel Index (CCI), or any other momentum oscillator for that matter. First, CCI is an unbound oscillator. Theoretically, there are no upside or downside limits. This makes an overbought or oversold assessment subjective. Second, securities can continue moving higher after an indicator becomes overbought. Likewise, securities can continue moving lower after an indicator becomes oversold. The definition of overbought or oversold varies for the Commodity Channel Index (CCI). ±100 may work in a trading range, but more extreme levels are needed for other situations. ±200 is a much harder level to reach and more representative of a true extreme. Selection of overbought/oversold levels also depends on the volatility of the underlying security.
