Kerry Cameraworks Finally got the seeds through customs into Australia 14 April 2016

06:00
Nine varieties of Corfu Heritage seed are planted at the Panagia Gorgoepikoos Greek Orthodox Christian Monastery in Victoria. The future of these heritage herbs and food will now prosper throughout the Geelong community in Australia. PS some advice, bring in what seeds you like into Australia but be completely honist with Australian customs as they will take no bull from anyone. and with some small fees, you too can help continue the traditional foods of the world as guild seeds are becoming bastardised and through GMO are fast becoming FRANKENSEEDS i.e. heritage, the stuff we evolved will soon become a thing of the past. Grow at home using sustainable methods like Permaculture and insist on growing only HERITAGE.

Why is Your Parcel Delayed - and How to Avoid It

03:48
NZ Customs shows how parcels arrive into NZ and what happens at the border control. ↓↓↓ READ MORE ↓↓↓ He explains reasons parcels are 'held for clearance' and tells customers what you can do to help speed up the clearance process. If you would like to learn more then read here: http://easyfreight.co.nz/blog International postal regulations require that every item passing an international border is subject to border inspection in the destination country. Postal items coming into New Zealand are inspected by the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) or the Ministry for Primary Industries for a number of reasons. These include but are not limited to inspecting the item to identify: - Customs Charges, Duty, and Taxes - Prohibited and restricted items - Bio-security risks and risks to New Zealand’s environment If you're importing goods into New Zealand, it's important that you're aware your goods may attract charges or be delayed by a border inspection. If your item is stopped for a border inspection, it won't affect the target delivery period of 1-3 working days once your item has been released by Customs. If your item is 'held for clearance', your item may require further inspection by another Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) branch, or for you to pay Customs charges before it is released for delivery. If your parcel is stopped by New Zealand Customs for the payment of duties or GST, New Zealand Post will send you a letter with the details of the payment required once it has been processed by Customs. Postal items leaving New Zealand valued at over NZD$1000 must have an export entry issued by Customs. For more information about export entries, see the Customs website. If your parcel does not have an export entry, New Zealand Post will hold your item and contact you to arrange it. To avoid delay, you should arrange the export entry before you post your item. You can either arrange this via your own customs broker (if you have one). There is an administration charge for this service. It is also possible that your parcel may be delayed by the customs service in the destination country. If this happens, generally the postal organisation in the destination country will contact the person you have addressed the parcel to, and arrange for them to pay the duties and taxes. You will not necessarily be informed of the delay, although if you have used a tracked service, the tracking may indicate "Held for clearance." If your item is detained by a customs authority in another country, please be aware that New Zealand Post is not able to 'speed up' the clearance process on your behalf. As the sender of the parcel, you may be able to speak directly with the customs service in the destination country to expedite the process, or you can contact the postal organisation in the destination country. 9 Things NOT To Do in Australia

04:09
Get more Tips here! www.destinationtips.com Australia is a vast country with a myriad of natural wonders, metropolitan cities and unique wildlife to explore. 1. Don’t Say “Put Another Shrimp on the Barbie” This lame slogan was part of a 1980s ad campaign featuring Paul Hogan targeting an American audience to come to Australia. Aussies actually call them "prawns". 2. Don’t Underestimate Distances Australia is so big England can fit into it almost 60 times! Apart from long hauls through unforgiving desert, even the more populated routes can take longer to get to than you think. 3. Don’t Take Beach Safety Signs Lightly Every year people are injured at the beach, some fatally, for not heeding these warnings. 4. Don’t Surf Without Knowing the Etiquette Well, for example, the person closest to the peak of the break has the right to ride it. Don’t drop into another person’s wave. Paddle outside of the zone where a lineup of surfers might be coming at you. Secure your leg rope and don’t be a wave hog. 5. Don’t Climb Uluru The views at the top of the rock are phenomenal, and it’s not a particularly difficult 348 meter climb. Even the 35 deaths from scaling the rock were mostly heart attacks. However, climbing this sacred, spiritual, monolith is considered offensive and disrespectful to the local Anangu people. So be respectful and skip the climb! 6. Don’t Pet the Dingos They may look like cute pooches but they're basically wild dogs so don’t pet them or encourage them around your picnic site. There have been a handful of high-profile attacks so be wary. 7. Don’t Go to Fraser Island with an Inexperienced Driver This is a popular thing to do as a backpacker. However, make sure that you have an experienced 4WD driver. One of the major roads there is literally sand on the beach, so deflate your tires and pay attention to the tides. Don't be the idiot who drives around the Maheno wreck and then needs a rescue. 8. Don’t “Root” For a Team Don't ask an Aussie which football team they’re rooting for, you might get some strange looks. One last thing to Know Before You Go; 9. Don’t Believe Stories of Drop Bears Drop bear lore is legendary down under. These koala-like creatures live in the trees and can drop down upon unsuspecting people. But fear not! There is a strong repellent to avoid these beasts. Just spread Vegemite behind your ears. Which country would you like us to do the next Things NOT To Do video about? Comment below.

How To Release Shipment without Paying Customs

http://accmumbai.gov.in/aircargo/import/faq.html 3 Ways To Avoid Customs Tax On Packages Shipping From China WATCH this video BEFORE IMPORTING ANYTHING https://youtu.be/GK9q7KqTbSU Hello guys, so long i haven't upload any video really sorry for that. So to day in this video I will share with you how I able to waive off the duty charges of INR 867.31 which was levied on my DHL shipment. Watch the video till the end and if you have any questions any suggestion don't forget to leave a comment in the comment section below. 3) Can someone send a gift through post? The Bonafide gifts up to a value limit of Rs.10,000/-, imported by post, are exempt from Basic and Additional Customs duties in terms Notification No.171/93-Cus, dated 16-9- 1993. Further, only those items can be imported as gifts, which are not prohibited for importation under Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. The sender of the gift may not necessarily be residing in the country from where the goods have been dispatched and any person abroad can send the gifts to relatives, business associates, friends, companies and acquaintances. The gifts have to be for bonafide personal use. The purpose of this stipulation is that the person receives the gift genuinely free and the payment is not made for it through some other means. The quantity and frequency of the gifts should not give rise to the belief that it is used as a route to transfer money. The gifts can be received by individuals, societies, institutions, like schools and colleges and even corporate bodies. For calculating the value limit of Rs.10,000/- in case of imports of gifts, postal charges or the airfreight is not taken into consideration. The value of Rs.10,000/- is taken as the value of the goods in the country from where these were dispatched. If the value of the gifts received is more than Rs.10,000/-, the receiver has to pay Customs duty on the whole consignment, even if the goods were received free, unsolicited. In addition, at the discretion of the Assistant/ Deputy Commissioner, if the goods are restricted for import, the receiver has a liability for penalty for such import, even if the goods have been sent unsolicited. The restricted goods are also liable to confiscation and receiver has to pay redemption fine in lieu of confiscation in addition to duty and penalty. Certain prohibited goods like narcotic drugs, arms, ammunition, obscene films/printed material etc. are liable to absolute confiscation and the receiver is liable to penal action, even if the goods have been sent unsolicited. Customs duty is chargeable on gifts assessed over Rs.10,000/- by the Customs. In case of post parcel, the customs department assesses the duty payable and the postal department collects the assessed duty from the receiver of the gift and subsequently deposits it with the customs. 10 Weird Things That Are Common in Australia

04:53
Top 10 facts about Australia that are different from the rest of the world. Only seen in the Aussie world. Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Other Videos You Might Like Weird Japanese Game Shows: https://youtu.be/rktwodxJce8 Strange Things That Only Happen In Russia: https://youtu.be/ru0lO3MJfl0 Description: Australia is a special country of its own. It is about the size of the United States and is larger than the United Kingdom and all the countries in Europe put together. Originally founded as a drop-off place for convicts, Australia has grown from its roots into a thriving country that has a booming tourism industry. Before there were convicts, Australia was home to the Aboriginal and Indigenous people, the oldest culture in the world. Not only do you have an English history, but also a tribal history that anthropologists continue to study today and have only skimmed the surface in regards to Australia’s rich history. But since its founding and development into a respected country, the quirky side of the Aussie nation has surfaced. But instead of shying tourists away from the land down under, it has actually attracted more visitors and has done wonders for the tourism industry. For example, the sport of Frisbee may be seen as a nice picnic or beach day activity, but in Australia, they take the sport very seriously. In fact, Australia has three national teams dedicated to the sport and there are thousands of hobby teams all over, with members who have dreams of becoming a professional Frisbee player. If you have a fear of spiders or snakes, it might be best to enjoy Australia from afar. The country is home to 20 out of the 25 most poisonous snakes in the world, and they have over 200 different species of the terrifying reptile. But this is all part of a day in the life of an Aussie. Did we mention that over half of these snake species are part of the cobra family? Yikes. Also, if you are an arachnophobia, you’ll have to figure out a way to manage your fear before hopping on that plane. Not only does Australia have a lot of spiders, but they are also huge with leg spans of half a foot. Australia is also home to 150 million sheep and 40 million kangaroos, which grossly outweighs the human population of 20 million. So you basically have more animals than people. Sheep provide a great source of economic abundance with cotton and kangaroos, well, are stereotypical Australian tourist attractions that people occasionally eat. The country also hosts the largest dingo fence. A dingo being a dog-wolf hybrid that is notorious for attacking and killing livestock and even humans. Australians are known for their quirky accents, they love of alcohol (ever heard of Beer Fridays?), and their sense of humor. In fact, there is a running joke that all Australians are in on, and that is the legend of the drop bear. The drop bear is rumored to be a giant koala that has razor sharp teeth and claws, and attack their victims by dropping on the heads of tourists from the trees. Of course, there’s really no such thing, but Aussies have made it an art to convince tourists otherwise, all the while enjoying laughs of the fearful visitors. There are more weird things where that came from! Just take a peek at the video. 5 Mistakes New Importers Make When Importing Products from China

13:39
Discover the 5 mistakes new importers make when they are importing products from China. Don’t make the same mistakes! Get our free ebook: http://wholesaleted.com/4-step Freightos: http://wholesaleted.com/go/freightos First mistake importers make when importing products from China: Assuming that shipping by sea will be the cheapest option A lot of new importers think they will save money if they ship by sea rather than air. On the surface it seems cheaper as importers usually pay around 60 cents/KG when shipping via sea, compared to the $7/KG when shipping by air courier. Unfortunately what they don’t realize is that the reason it’s that cheap is because when shipping via sea, you ship via container, and you need to rent an entire container. They are very large and require you to be shipping hundreds of KGs to be making it worth your time. If you are an Amazon private label seller, you are unlikely to have enough stock being shipped to fill a container by at least 60-70% so it will be cheaper to ship by air. When shipping by air, you have two options: 1) Air freight 2) Air courier Air courier is when you have your items shipped door-to-door. It is the easiest but the most expensive per KG (although in smaller quantities it is cheaper). Air freight is when you have your items flown from one airport to the other. You will need to organize other additional services: * Having the items delivered to the airport * A customs broker * Having the items delivered from the airport to the final location. There are a lot of fixed fees with this which means it becomes cheaper to use air freight with larger quantities. To figure out which option will be cheaper for you, I recommend using Freightos. Second mistake importers make when importing products from China: Not using the Metric system In China, they use the Metric system and not the Imperial system. So be sure to use KGs instead of lbs and CM instead of inches. It’s important to remember that when working with Chinese suppliers that they expect you to work on their terms and their timeframes. It can be frustrating, but it’s worth it for the cheap Chinese products you import! Third mistake importers make when importing products from China: Using Less than Container Load for shipping When shipping by sea, you have two options: 1) FCL which stands for Full Container Load 2) LCL which stands for Less than Container Load Inexperienced importers fall for the trap of shipping with LCL because they see that the price are extremely cheap. What they don’t realize is that these LCL companies have special deals with the ports to charge you extremely high Destination Service Charges. The LCL companies then make their money in the form of a “rebate” which is essentially commissions/kickbacks. Destination Service Charges are usually priced per-container and cost between $500-$1000 per container for ports in the USA. But when shipping by LCL you end up paying a high fee per cubic meters. It means that you often end up paying a fee comparable to shipping an entire container. Don’t fall for this trap: If you can’t break even with FCL, then ship by air. Fourth mistake importers make when importing products from China: not calculating the correct duties you will need to pay When you import products from China, you will need to pay duties at the border. If you don’t calculate the correct rate you can get a shock if it comes back as more than you expected. Duties can be a bit complicated to work out because there are a lot of variables. For example, if you imported woolen jackets, you need to consider which country the wool came from, as some countries (like Israel) have duty-free agreements over wool, which would reduce the duties you had to pay. On the other hand if synthetic fibres were used instead of pure wool, then your duty rates would be higher since there are higher duties applied to synthetic fibres within the USA. To figure out what your duty rate is, find out what the HTS (Harmonized Tax System) code is for your item. To find this, ask your Chinese supplier as they will most likely know. You can then go through the HTS manual and find what the duty rate is for the HTS code of your products. Fifth mistake importers make when importing products from China: being afraid to make mistakes And finally - don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Through making mistakes you learn how to overcome them the next time and make even more money. Mistakes are apart of entrepreneurship. Learn from others - and learn from your own as well!

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Rates, Delivery Time, Customs Forms & More

09:44
So you live outside the USA; maybe you’re from England, or the Ukraine or a really beautiful island somewhere in a beautiful part of the world…if that is the case, please invite us over for dinner. In the meantime, Let’s walk through the steps of your order together…. When you are purchasing your amazing new goodies, you may have noticed that the shipping rates are VERY LOW. This is because they are registering as USA ship-to prices…which is not accurate…because you’re not located in the USA. As a general guideline, International Shipping Rates are going to be around 3-4x higher than USA shipping rates. This is probably because your parcel has to cross a lot of water by plane or boat, and that is an expensive process…..not to mention, a lot of people have to work together to get that parcel to you, and those people probably want to be paid. Each box is going to cost you around $80 to $160. The rate will be based on how far you are from Michigan, the size of the box and its weight. While Canada is the cheapest place for us to ship to, Australia and Africa are the most expensive. Most countries only allow you to import a box about the size of a microwave through standard mail. This means that if you order a ton of stuff, it is going to take more than one box because it is virtually impossible to fit a ton of stuff into one medium-size box. We will never know the exact amount it will cost to ship your items to you until we pull them, package them, weigh them then enter your address into our Shipping Program. IMPORTING As an international buyer, it is important that you know your countries Importing Laws. Some countries are very strict on what you’re allowed to receive. Most countries do not allow flammables, this means, no aerosol hair spray, perfume, home fragrance spray or items containing a flammable amount of alcohol, but sometimes you’re allowed to buy these, if they are very small amounts. Believe it or not, some countries won’t allow you to import certain types of materials or, like in Japan, you are limited to the quantity of clothing you are allowed to import. The easiest way to find out your countries guidelines is to Google search your country name along with the words “importing regulations” or “prohibited items”. We do not review incoming orders to determine if the merchandise you are ordering is allowed into your Country. If you try to import items not allowed into your country, there is a strong chance that Customs will refuse, or, even worse, destroy your parcel. We do not offer any form of refund or credit for parcels refused or confiscated by Customs, so, please, do your research before you order. Our international buyers often ask us “When will my parcel arrive?” – great question! Your parcel will arrive when it has finished traveling across the world, going through numerous checkpoints and inspections and reaches its destination. sometimes parcels arrive in as little as 6 business days, other times it is 3 months . Unfortunately there is no way for us to make your parcel travel faster; BUT, it is important that you Add Insurance to your parcel because, in the event that the parcel is undelivered for over 30 days, we can file an investigation with the carrier. This will result in either your parcel being delivered OR a refund through the carrier. CUSTOMS FORMS: We are asked on a regular basis if we can lie and say the merchandise is only worth a dollar so our International Buyers can avoid paying taxes on the merchandise. While nobody likes paying taxes, it is actually not in your best interest to have the merchandise incorrectly valued because, in the event that the parcel does get lost or damaged, instead of getting back $200 or $400 or whatever you paid, your refund will be the worthless $1 that you said the items were worth….and that would make you angry…and sad…and when you’re sad, we are sad too. To make a long story short, we do not falsify Customs Forms. So, with all that in mind, if you’re looking to order a lot of stuff and save some money, one thing you can consider is to use a Freight Forwarder. A Freight Forwarder is a company located inside the USA that will accept the merchandise from us and literally, forward it to you. Each forwarder is going to have their own fees, but we have seen fees as low as $1 per pound plus $25 per transaction. If you wish to use a forwarder, simply contact us by email to let us know.

Australian customs officers arrested in airport drugs probe

00:41
Eight people including two customs officers and a quarantine inspection officer have been arrested following an investigation into alleged corruption among customs and border officials at Australian airports. The officers allegedly worked in conjunction with underworld figures to facilitate the smuggling of cash and drugs through airports including Sydney and Adelaide. Their illegal activity allegedly involved allowed money to be smuggled out of airports to fund drugs that were smuggled back into the country, whereupon the officers would escort the smugglers through customs controls. The officers also allegedly allowed drug-filled suitcases and luggage to pass freely through customs, checked passenger databases to see whether people had been earmarked for customs checks, and interfered with CCTV cameras to ensure illegal activity would not be detected. The arrests have resulted in the government setting up the Customs Reform Board. The board will be tasked with rooting out corruption within the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service.

A look at my experience importing this knife to Australia. This is the first time I've had anything opened by customs and whilst all my gear arrived I think the experience is interesting and raises a few questions. I don't have a lot of answers, but hopefully what I have found out might help my Australian viewers avoid potentially costly issues (like ordering a knife and not being able to get it, money gone!). Useful links Australian Customs http://www.customs.gov.au/ List of prohibited and restricted imports. This is the master list, for the specific content I discuss click on "Knives and daggers" http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4369.asp And just to add a last note on the silliness to this. I know of at least one Australian online retailer who has this same knife in stock locally and is selling it (at twice the price I paid for mine). Obviously his knives cleared customs, why is it different for a private import?

Sri Lanka asylum seekers arrive in Australia

After weeks at sea, a group of 157 Sri Lankan asylum seekers has arrived on Australian soil. The group which had set off from India spent one month aboard an Australian customs vessel as the government assessed their claims. The decision to move them came after a high court challenge from human rights lawyers who questioned the government's right to assess applications at sea. The lawyers are also considering further legal action, saying they might sue the government for illegal imprisonment… READ MORE : http://www.euronews.com/2014/07/28/sri-lanka-asylum-seekers-arrive-in-australia What is in the news today? What is Carnet? | Traveling with Film Gear

02:50
Carnet 101 https://www.export.gov/article?id=ATA-Carnet ATA Carnet Temporary importation provisions are an important tool for companies who want to show their products in foreign markets or for professionals bringing tools of the trade into a foreign country for a limited period of time. Last Published: 5/6/2016 What Is An ATA Carnet? ATA Carnet (aka "Merchandise Passport") is an international customs document accepted by 80 countries and territories. ATA Carnet allows temporary entry of goods, duty-free and tax-free, whether shipped or hand-carried. ATA Carnet system was established by international ATA convention and is governed by World Customs Organization and International Chamber of Commerce and its World Chambers Federation to encourage world trade and reduce trade barriers created by different national customs regulations. The initials "ATA" are from the French and English words "Admission Temporaire/ Temporary Admission." U.S. Customs appointed US Council for International Business as National Guaranteeing Association (NGA). Companies are required to present carnet documentation to U. S.Customs when leaving the country and upon entry into and exit from the foreign country. Upon return, the company must again show the carnet document to U. S. Customs for duty-free entry back into the United States. The ATA Carnet also serves as the registration of goods for the U.S. and eliminates the need for a U.S. Customs Certificate of Registration Form 4455. ATA Carnets cover most personal and professional goods, including commercial samples, professional equipment and goods intended for use at trade shows and exhibitions. The ATA Carnets do not cover consumable or disposable items. They are also not recommended for situations where some of the products taken abroad may be sold in a foreign country. However, they are particularly useful when a product may “travel” to several countries prior to being returned to the United States. What are the benefits of the ATA Carnet? - Eliminate duties and value-added taxes (VAT); - Simplify customs procedures allowing a temporary exporter to use a single document for all customs transactions, make arrangements in advance, and at a predetermined cost; - Allow for an unlimited entries/departures for up to one year; - Facilitate reentry into the U.S. by eliminating the need to register the goods with U.S. Customs at the time of departure; - Eliminate need to file an Electronic Export Information form (former Shipper’s Export Declaration) except for those exports that require an export license; - Eliminate the need for Temporary Importation Under Bond (TIB). Note of caution: ATA Carnets DO NOT exempt the holders from obtaining necessary licenses or permits.) What Countries Accept the Carnet? The ATA Carnet can be used in over ninety countries and territories, but each country has its own rules and requirements. Be sure to review the specific information for all the countries that you may be visiting. You may still use a Carnet as your U.S. registration of goods even when traveling to a country that does not accept Carnets.
