How To Send Ethereum Transactions
How To Send Ethereum Transactions http:///www.Blockgeeks.com You can send transactions between any two accounts on Ethereum. Typically, these transactions occur in the production environment called the Mainnet but there’s also a few test networks available for us to use. Test networks are useful when you want to use Ethereum without having to pay real money. Some of the popular test nets today are Ropsten, Rinkeby and Kovan. Properly functioning test environments are a critical part of the DAPP development process. Ropsten, which is the main public network and uses proof of work has become prone to spammy transactions and slowness. In response to this, two separate community efforts led to the creation of new test nets, Rinkeby and Kovan. These networks require authenticating using your GitHub account and the transactions are validated using proof of authority meaning there are a small set of validators. Let’s try to send a transaction over the Rinkeby test net. We’ll use a Chrome plugin called MetaMask to connect to the network and make transactions. I highly recommend getting MetaMask since it makes interacting with the Ethereum blockchain extremely easy. First, we’ll change the network to Rinkeby to make sure we’re using test ether and not real ether. Let’s create two test accounts and label them. To get test ether into these accounts, we need to use a tool called a Faucet which is just a website where you enter your address and it sends you some test ether. Let’s copy the address for one of our accounts. When we click the buy button, we get redirected to the Faucet. Since we’re connected to Rinkeby, we need to use our GitHub credentials to get the test ether. To do this, go to gist.github.com, create a new Gist with a single line that contains the address you just copied and publish it. You then copy the Gist URL and paste it into the Faucet. In a few short moments, we can see that we have updated the balance in our account. The reason the balance took a few seconds to update is because we need to wait for the transaction to get mined on the Rinkeby network. Now, let’s move this test ether between our accounts. First, let’s copy the address of our receiving account. Then, we click the send button, paste the address, as well as the amount and hit submit. Once we submit the transaction, we’re provided a transaction hash which we can use to reference this transaction. If we use an Ethereum blockchain explorer like Etherscan, we can get more details about this transaction. Since we made the transaction on the Rinkeby network, we have to use rinkeby.etherscan.io and we can see that the transaction is still waiting to be mined. Once it is successfully mined, we’ll see a block number assigned to the transaction. We can then verify the updated account balances using MetaMask. Advanced Bitcoin Scripting -- Part 1: Transactions & Multisig
This is the first part of a more technical talk where Andreas explores Bitcoin script, with examples from the 2nd edition of Mastering Bitcoin, focusing on the use of conditional statements, flow control, guard clauses and time locks. The examples will include advanced multi-signature scripts, hash time lock contracts and asymmetric revocable commitments. Then he answers questions about Bitcoin's quirky bugs, where Bitcoin differs from Ethereum at a scripting level, how SegWit works, how consensus rules change, and whether Bitcoin is more than just a currency. Ethereum vs Bitcoin | Explained (For Beginners)
Ethereum vs bitcoin, witch one is better investment ? Bitcoin was created at 2009, it acts as a secure peer-to-peer decentralized payment system. Since every transaction is recorded on a ledger, users can have total confidence that transactions are legit, without the worry of fraud. Total number of bitcoins that can be ever created is 21 million, since it has limited supply, thus it can act as a gold to store value. Ethereum launched in 2015 and found by Vitalik, it had an initial offering of Ether, which is the cryptocurrency behind Ethereum. It is decentralized platform that runs smart contracts. This payment system is much faster comparing to bitcoin, and much more useful in the financial world. We can build multiple decentralized application on Ethereum. I believe both projects are great investments, you can think of Ethereum as a fast paying system and Bitcoin as a digital gold. ==================================================== 💰Coinbase Wallet! - https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a4bf2558441a304a0c1c801 Sign up and get FREE $10! 💰Binance Wallet! - https://www.binance.com/?ref=21867060 Sign up and get FREE $10! =================================================== ★ Any donation is highly appreciated. 🔑 BTC Wallet Address: 16EtKHG2rwH2NqA4MniK4JRhzPyv5AeiER 🔑 ETH Wallet Address: 0x1db0fa9a379e46cb205a39a0766e30d3e3d0d11e 🔑 LTC Wallet Address: LRcmBavhskBURqmw1sujV5LS8WUPvfaNj8 =================================================== ➤ Litecoin vs Bitcoin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn7RUr3EW2E ➤ Bitcoin Explained: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBO-9VyFXb4 ➤ How Stock market works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BihenrjkjOk ==================================================== Thank you so much for watching! ==================================================== Eh vs Btc | Ethereum vs Bitcoin | ethereum blockchain | buy ethereum coin | ethereum trading | ethereum vs bitcoin mining

How to Create and Use an ERC20 Compatible Wallet using Myetherwallet
https://goldreward.io/join/cryptoflower How to create an ethereum wallet using myetherwallet.com. This wallet is very easy to use and is compatible with ERC20 tokens. ERC20 tokens are Dapps (Decentralized Apps) which are designed to run on the Ethereum network. You will need ETH in order to send make ERC20 token transactions on the Ethereum blockchain. Once you have created your wallet, you will need to add a token to the wallet by adding the contract address, token name and decimal. This can normally be found on the website for the token you are trying to acquire. If you cannot find the contract address on the website, you can use etherscan.io or ethplorer.io to search for it also. You will need to send some ETH into the wallet in order to fund it prior sending out any funds. Remember to add some ETH for gas to your wallet also. How to Send Offline Transactions with MyEtherWallet
In this video, I show how to use an offline computer to sign a transaction and send ether on the network. While I use the Ropsten test network for this example, the steps are exactly the same for the Ethereum main network. The virtual machine shown in this video was created specifically without any network connectivity for the purpose of this video. Using an actual offline computer works the same by utilizing a USB thumb drive to transfer the text between the offline and online computers. Why I Bought Ethereum
If Bitcoin is digital gold, Ether is digital oil. Ethereum's smart contract technology is quickly becoming a building block of web 3.0 and the new decentralized digital economy. The potential here is staggering, but we are still in the very early days. Ethereum could become a multi-trillion operating system for the next generation of blockchain apps, or it could be the next tulip bubble. Either way, we will be paying very close attention. We will get back to more traditional INVESTING 101 episodes next week, but I was on too much of an Ether kick to let this one guy. Had to fill the HyperChangers in on why this is such an exciting piece of tech. Bitcoin from the Command Line - Sending Bitcoin Transactions Programmatically with Javascript
One of the common complaints with Bitcoin is that it’s pretty hard to get started, and there’s a lot of overhead to making accounts and sending transactions. So I want to show everyone a really simple workflow that I’ve been using to interact with the Bitcoin blockchain from my command line using Javascript. This isn’t a workflow that I would recommend for long-term storage (though there isn’t anything wrong with it necessarily, I still would recommend hardware wallets for long-term crypto-asset storage) but it is a good workflow for hacking around, sending money and building apps. What is Ethereum? A Simple Explanation Anyone Can Understand
What is Ethereum? A Simple Explanation Anyone Can Understand You'll receive $10 in free bitcoin by signing up with this link http://bit.ly/2oesV41 Blockchain Revolution Book: http://amzn.to/2nXGGqY Buy Ethereum: http://bit.ly/2oesV41 Ethereum Course: http://courses.blockgeeks.com/ What is Ethereum for beginners? At its simplest, Ethereum is an open software platform based on blockchain technology that enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications. Is Ethereum similar to Bitcoin? Well, sort of, but not really. Like Bitcoin, Ethereum is a distributed public blockchain network. Although there are some significant technical differences between the two, the most important distinction to note is that Bitcoin and Ethereum differ substantially in purpose and capability. Bitcoin offers one particular application of blockchain technology, a peer to peer electronic cash system that enables online Bitcoin payments. While the bitcoin blockchain is used to track ownership of digital currency (bitcoins), the Ethereum blockchain focuses on running the programming code of any decentralized application. In the Ethereum blockchain, instead of mining for bitcoin, miners work to earn Ether, a type of crypto token that fuels the network. Beyond a tradeable cryptocurrency, Ether is also used by application developers to pay for transaction fees and services on the Ethereum network. “Bitcoin is first and foremost a currency; this is one particular application of a blockchain. However, it is far from the only application. To take a past example of a similar situation, e-mail is one particular use of the internet, and for sure helped popularise it, but there are many others.” Dr Gavin Wood, Ethereum Co-Founder What is a smart contract? Smart contract is just a phrase used to describe computer code that can facilitate the exchange of money, content, property, shares, or anything of value. When run on the blockchain a smart contract becomes like a self-operating computer program that automatically executes when specific conditions are met. Because smart contracts run on the blockchain, they run exactly as programmed without any possibility of censorship, downtime, fraud or third party interference. Private Key Vault: an Air Gapped Computer For Ethereum Transactions
This air-gapped computer runs a version of MyEtherWallet optimized for Offline Transactions on the Ethereum Blockchain. In this video - you will see what the Private Key Vault is, you will learn how it is used to make secure payments on the Ethereum blockchain, and you will understand why this device is the safest possible way to control your Ethereum accounts. The Private Key Vault provides the convenience of a digital wallet (runs on your computer), or of a hardware wallet (runs on a piece of hardware that you plug into your computer) with the safety of cold storage (private key pairs made on a computer that never connects to the Internet). The Private Key Vault scans in qr-codes from your phone, or from hard copy. It outputs qr-codes to the touchscreen for scanning into your mobile device. All data moving in or out of the device stands for your inspection and approval before proceeding. No radios of any kind are installed in the device and there are no exposed cable jacks for data transfer. The Vault generates new public/private key pairs and it generates password protected keystore files to keep your private keys safe. Use any method you like to generate key pairs and import keys by scanning qr-codes or by manual data entry. Careful - with great power comes great responsibility. Only completely randomly generated key pairs that have never been on any device capable of connecting to the Internet are safe to use. Believe it or not, the safest way to generate a private key is by flipping a coin several times (256 times to get a completely random private key for use on the Ethereum blockchain). The software provides a private key generator which is considered safe as well, but I am super cautious and prefer to flip a coin to generate my private keys. Use the Vault to print hard copies of your private keys as qr-codes (paper wallets) using the built in printer. This ensures that your private keys will not be intercepted on their way to a network printer and it ensures that your keys will not persist in an external printer for later collection by criminals. You can also print out keystore files if you prefer. These are password protected paper wallets for added security. To move your eth, generate and display encrypted transaction instructions on the touchscreen in the form of qr-codes. Then send those encrypted instructions to the blockchain by scanning those qr-codes into your mobile phone. If the miners can decrypt your instructions then they know you have the private key for the sending account without ever needing to see the private key. That's the magic of public/private key encryption. You never have to show your private key to any other machine in order to prove that you have it. And if even one character of the encrypted transaction instructions have been changed then the miners will not be able to decrypt the message and the transaction will not go though. Encrypted messaging (PGP) is built into the operating system. Use the Vault to digitally sign messages and use it verify signed messages from others. Useful for verifying software is malware free and for proving you are the author of a body of work without revealing your identity. Also useful for proving a known person is the author of an encrypted message, that the message has not been changed in transit, and finally, it is useful for proving you have control over a particular public address. This device is compatible with LUKS Full Disk encryption and directions for encrypting the entire SD card are given in the open source documentation (linked below). So it can be used as a vault to keep all your passwords and private files. This is an open source project. If you would like to build your own Private Key Vault then check out my github repository. The instructions will be even more comprehensive and more organized shortly. The following is the modified version of the MyEtherWallet software. https://github.com/johnshearing/MyEtherWalletOffline The following documents the physical build. https://github.com/johnshearing/MyEtherWalletOffline/blob/master/Air-Gap_Setup.md I value collaboration, but good natured competition is also necessary to keep the Ethereum blockchain decentralized and fault tolerant. So either way, please let me know how I can assist you. If you would like to purchase a Private Key Vault then please contact me, John Shearing. My email address is [email protected]

web3.js library, the Ethereum JavaScript API
This video explains what the purpose is of the web3.js library and how to use it. The web3.js library is also known as the Ethereum JavaScript API. To communicate with an Ethereum node or transact with a smart contract deployed on the blockchain from inside a JavaScript or web application you can use the web3.js library. Under the hood the web3.js library communicates with an Ethereum node through JSON RPC calls. The Ethereum node must expose its a RPC layer. The MetaMask extension exposes the web3 API by an injected web3 object which you can access via JavaScript. The MetaMask extension does not support most synchronous web3 API methods. Make your method calls asynchronous! To use the web3.js library in your web application: - Download the web3.js library from: https://github.com/ethereum/web3.js - In the dist folder you will find the files web3-light.min.js and web3.min.js - The file web3.min.js contains the Bignumber module and the file web3-light.min.js does not. If you do not know which one to choose, then use file web3.min.js. Web3.js API code examples can be found at: http://www.mobilefish.com/download/ethereum/web3api.html In the examples asynchronous methods were used if they are available. The demonstration Ethereum Dapp is made for educational purpose. The web interface can be found at: http://www.mobilefish.com/download/ethereum/DemoDapp.html The associated Solidity contract can be found at: http://www.mobilefish.com/download/ethereum/DemoContract.sol.txt The main purpose of this Dapp is to learn how to use web3.js api (v0.x.x) and how interact with a deployed smart contract. To setup the demonstration Ethereum Dapp (DemoApp.html): - Download and deploy the DemoContract.sol smart contract on any test network (testrpc, ropsten, rinkeby, or your own private ethereum node, etc). Save the contract address you will need it later. - Download and install the DemoApp.html on your web server. - Download and install the web3.min.js (v0.19.0) on your web server. - Modify the path to web3.min.js in the DemoApp.html file. - Modify the contract address in the DemoApp.html file. How to use the demonstration Ethereum Dapp (DemoApp.html): - Use a test network. - Have a test account with enough ethers to experiment with. - The demonstration Dapp (DemoApp.html) also works well with MetaMask. Notes: Two versions of DemoApp.html has been created. - A version using callbacks which is not very readable because of using callback trees! For educational purpose you can find this version at (but do not use it!): http://www.mobilefish.com/download/ethereum/DemoDappv0.1.html - The original code has been refactored by using JavaScript Promises. http://www.mobilefish.com/download/ethereum/DemoDapp.html - The DemoApp.html uses only vanilla JavaScript an uses the web3.js library. All code meaning: JavaScript, HTML and CSS can be found in this single web page. Warnings: - The DemoApp.html does not work with the web3.js v1.0.0. - The web3.js library v1.0.0 has many changes. The DemoApp.html will soon be obsolete. - Use the Demonstration Ethereum Dapp on a test environment. Messages and Transactions in Ethereum | White Paper
The term "transaction" is used in Ethereum to refer to the signed data package that stores a message to be sent from an externally owned account. Contracts have the ability to send "messages" to other contracts. Messages are virtual objects that are never serialized and exist only in the Ethereum execution environment.
How To Create An Ethereum Account
How To Create An Ethereum Account http://www.Blockgeeks.com Today, we'll be learning about Ethereum accounts and the math behind creating one. To interact with Ethereum in any meaningful way, you need to have a user account. The simplest way to create an account on Ethereum is by using the Mist e-theorem wallet, which is an application that allows you to manage and interact with multiple Ethereum accounts. Launching the application will sync to the black chain, meaning it download the entire block chain data to your computer, which can take upwards of 100 gigabytes, so be warned. when you first launch the application, it will walk you through creating an account and setting a password for it. It's very important that you never forget this password to maintain access to the account, there is no forgot your password option. Your new account then shows up in the wallet section of the app and it has a balance of zero. Clicking on the account will give us more details about it and provide some options for putting some real ether into it. The main thing to note is the public address, which you will share with other people. Another way to create an account is via the command line. If you download the Go Ethereum Client of GETH, can simply invoke GETH account new to create an account. This will prompt you to enter a password which again you should never forget and at the end it prints out the public address of your new account. You can create as many accounts as you like and you can view them all by typing GETH Account List. Note that this also shows the account we created in Ethereum Wallet. Another interesting thing to note is that we don't even have to be connected to the block chain or even the internet to create an account. It can happen entirely offline. How is this possible? We know what we need to generate a cryptographic key pair which consists of a public and private key. But don't we have to register this key pair somewhere? What if someone else is already using this key pair? Even though it's technically possible, it is highly, highly, improbable. Let's talk about why. There are three steps involved in generating an Ethereum public address. The first step is to generate a private key which is just a random number represented by 256 bits. The second step is to use elliptic curve cryptography to generate a 512 bit public key. Each private key maps to exactly one public key. The third and final step is to calculate the Keccak256 has of the public key and then keep the right most 160 bits of the Keccak256 hash to get the public address. This is essentially a mapping of 256 bit private keys to 160 bit public addresses. Meaning each account has more than one private key. Security is achieved in the randomness of selecting the private key. As long as you get something sufficiently random and not like one or two, it's highly unlikely that someone else would also generate the same private key. To give you a sense of how many possible private keys there are let's take a look at some numbers. There are 10,000 possible four digit iPhone passcodes. So if someone were to try to break into your phone by guessing each passcode, it would be pretty hard because they would have a one 1 in 10,000 chance of getting it right. But it would be fairly easy for a computer to try 10,000 passcodes pretty quickly. Apple also claims a 1 in 50,000 chance of a fingerprint ID matching a strangers and a 1 in a million chance of a face ID matching making your phone more secure. At a few orders of magnitude larger to we have seven and a half billion humans on the planet and we estimate that the big bang took place some 14 billion years ago. Larger still we estimate around 400 billion different stars just in our own galaxy. Many, many orders of magnitude larger still, we estimate that there are around seven times 10 to the power of 27 atoms in the average adult male weighing 150 pounds. Many orders larger still we estimate that are 1.3 times 10 to the power of 50 atoms in the earth. And even larger still, we come to the total number of possible private keys using 256 bits, one times 10 to the power of 77. This number is so big that if we took all the numbers we just talked about before and added them all up, they still wouldn't even be half of this number. It's unbelievably big. So the chances of someone randomly generating the same private key is sufficiently that it's practically impossible. Staging a brute force attack by trying each possible private key would also require an unachievable amount of computational power, like a planet sized computer working since the beginning of time. How To Create An Ethereum Smart Contract
How To Create An Ethereum Smart Contract https://blockgeeks.com The most interesting part of Ethereum are smart contracts. You can think of smart contracts like autonomous agents deployed onto the Ethereum blockchain. Smart contracts are made up of some data, as well as some code that manipulates that data. Just like a user account, smart contract accounts also have their own balance as well as a public address, which looks the same as the user account address. To interact with smart contracts, you send transactions to it with some extra data, to specify which function you want to invoke, as well as any input parameters for the function. The transaction will invoke the function, and return any possible output once it has been mined. We're going to be using Remix to write smart contracts, which is an online IDE, available for free at remix.ethereum.org. It comes with a compiler, editor and debugger for solidity. The great part is that you don't need to download or install or set up anything, you just go to this webpage and start writing smart contracts, which is awesome. The UI is divided into four main sections. The left part is our file explorer where we can open Solidity files from our hard drive. The middle section is our editor where we can view and write our source code. At the bottom we have a terminal which prints out important events and transactions, and the rightmost section contains some handy tools for compiling running and debugging our code. The first example we'll look at is a smart contract called Hodor. Let's load up the source code. You'll notice that Solidity source files end with the .sol extension. The syntax of Solidity resembles java script, so it should be fairly easy to pick up. The first we see at the top uses the pragma directive. This tells the compiler that the contract is written for a Solidity compiler version of at least [0.4.0 00:01:53], or anything newer that doesn't break functionality. We then have a multi-line comment block, briefly describing what this class does. The next line is where we declare the name of our smart contract using the contract keyword. We've simply called out class Hodor because, as you'll see, all it does is return a simple greeting. We also declared two state variables called Creator and Greeting. Creator has an address data type, which is used for storing addresses of accounts. Greeting is a string data type, which just stores some text greeting. We initialized both of these variables in our constructor. The constructor is declared using the function keyword, followed by the name of the class. The constructor is a special function that is invoked only once, when a contract is first deployed to the Ethereum blockchain. You can only declare a single constructor for a contract. We also inject the initial string greeting as a parameter, into the constructor, and set the greeting variable to that value. In the second line of the constructor, we initialize the creator variable to a value called message.sender, but if you look closely, you might wonder where this value came from, since it's not being injected into the constructor. This is because message is a global variable that provides certain information about the message, such as the address of the account sending it. We can get the address of the account creating the contract, using message.sender in the constructor. You may notice that we don't actually use this creator variable anywhere in our contract, because this is just a simple example. We could potentially use this information to implement access control to certain functions. We'll see an example of this later. Read more on Blockgeeks: https://blockgeeks.com

Blockchain/Bitcoin for beginners 7: Blockchain header: Merkle roots and SPV transaction verification
How are transactions stored (and recorded) in the Blockchain blocks? Using a concept called a Merkle tree - in this video I break it down in depth with a simple example and show how a SPV node (Simple Payment Verification) node that does not keep a full copy of the blockchain transaction history - just the headers of the blocks - can verify from an adjacent (but not necessarily trusted) full node, which block a transaction is part of just from knowing the MERKLE PATH from the full node. http://chimera.labs.oreilly.com/books/1234000001802/ch07.html
