How to Configure Public Folders Exchange 2010 10135B

08:27
Lab 2: Configuring Mailbox Servers Exercise 2: Configuring Public Folders Scenario Before creating a new public folder database and replicating it, you must check the numbers of items and size in the Executive public folder so that you can later verify that the replication was successful. The main tasks for this exercise are: 1. Check Executives public folder statistics. 2. Create a public folder database on VAN-EX3. 3. Add a replica of the Executives public folder on VAN-EX3. 4. Verify replication between VAN-EX1 and VAN-EX3.

Boris Voronin from EMC Talks About Exchange 2010 Synchronous Replication

03:20
Recorded at Microsoft TechEd 2010, Boris Voronin from EMC's Proven Solutions team talks with Brian Henderson about how EMC is the first company to leverage Microsoft's Synchronous Replication API for Exchange 2010. This plugs into the DAG framework but replaces native log-shipping with synchronous block-based replication. Very cool for customers who have a need for higher RTO/RPO and would like to leverage existing SAN technologies for Exchange replication.

Tutorial - How to install a calendar replication between Vision8020 and Exchange 2007/2010

30:37
In this tutorial I'll show you how to install a calendar replication between the telephony-, diversion and support system - Vision 80/20 and Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010. With this replication you can replicate calendar events created in your Outlook client which will create diversions on your extension and link it to the correct reason of the diversion. I will also describe how it works and how you can troubleshoot it as well. Shell commands available: Recommended commands Exchange 2007 Get-ExchangeServer | where {$_.IsClientAccessServer -eq $TRUE} | ForEach-Object {Add-ADPermission -Identity $_.distinguishedname -User (Get-User -Identity vision8020 | select-object).identity -extendedRights ms-Exch-EPI-Impersonation} Get-MailboxDatabase | ForEach-Object {Add-ADPermission -Identity $_.DistinguishedName -User vision8020 -ExtendedRights ms-Exch-EPI-May-Impersonate} These commands will grant the user vision8020 impersonation-rights on all CAS and database-servers in the exchange environment. Alternative commands (only use if access is needed to a limited set of databases), if there are multiple databases for mailboxes on the Exchange server, or if there are multiple Exchange servers, see commands in the manual. Recommended commands Exchange 2010: New-ManagementRole -Name RoleImpersonation -Parent ApplicationImpersonation New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role RoleImpersonation -Name ManRoleImpersonation -User vision8020

Copy-PublicFolder

07:21
Copy-PublicFolder allows you to copy a public folder content (including sub-folders) into a mailbox (shared, for example). Thus, you can use it to migrate from Public Folders to Shared Mailboxes. If you run Copy-PublicFolder multiple times, it detects items which it already copied and skips them not to create duplicates. It works against Exchange on-prem and Exchange Online / Office 365. For Exchange on-prem, all you need is to publish EWS to the internet (publishing PowerShell vdir is optional). Please let me know if you are interested in an account for MgmtSaaS. Just email me your user name and password and I'll create an account for you. Cluster Continues Replication Exchange 2007 CCR Cluster Continuous Replication Cluster Continuous Replication gives administrator's peace of mind that their mailbox servers are protected from a single point of failure. To master this technology, I advise investigating the components, and playing with Cluster Tools such as the Failover Cluster Management tool on Windows Server 2008. Then develop a CCR plan to suit your network, only then are you ready to install the Exchange Server 2007 mailbox servers. Configure the NIC's for Public and Private connections

Mailbox servers perform the following functions: Host mailbox databases Provide e-mail storage Host public folder databases Calculate e-mail address policies Generate address lists and offline address books (OABs) Conduct Multi-Mailbox Searches Provide high availability and site resiliency Provide content indexing Provide messaging records management (MRM) and retention policies The Client Access server role is one of five distinct server roles for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. It supports the Outlook Web App and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync client applications, and the Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) and Internet Message Access Protocol version 4rev1 (IMAP4) protocols. The Client Access server role also provides access to free/busy data by using the Availability service and enables certain clients to download automatic configuration settings from the Autodiscover service. The Client Access server role accepts connections to your Exchange 2010 server from different clients. Software clients such as Microsoft Outlook Express and Eudora use POP3 or IMAP4 connections to communicate with the Exchange server. Hardware clients, such as mobile phones, use ActiveSync, POP3, or IMAP4 to communicate with the Exchange server. You must install the Client Access server role in every Exchange organization and every Active Directory site that has the Mailbox server role installed.
