Descriptive Statistics Using Scipy , Numpy and Pandas in Python - Tutorial 13

09:49
In this Python for data Science Tutorial, You will learn how to perform Descriptive Statistics in python using Numpy a, scipy and pandas using jupyter notebook (Anaconda). You learn about Sum, mean, median, max, standard deviation, variance and Quartiles. This is the 13th Video of Python for Data Science Course! In This series I will explain to you Python and Data Science all the time! It is a deep rooted fact, Python is the best programming language for data analysis because of its libraries for manipulating, storing, and gaining understanding from data. Watch this video to learn about the language that make Python the data science powerhouse. Jupyter Notebooks have become very popular in the last few years, and for good reason. They allow you to create and share documents that contain live code, equations, visualizations and markdown text. This can all be run from directly in the browser. It is an essential tool to learn if you are getting started in Data Science, but will also have tons of benefits outside of that field. Harvard Business Review named data scientist "the sexiest job of the 21st century." Python pandas is a commonly-used tool in the industry to easily and professionally clean, analyze, and visualize data of varying sizes and types. We'll learn how to use pandas, Scipy, Sci-kit learn and matplotlib tools to extract meaningful insights and recommendations from real-world datasets. How to create a boxplot to represent basin scale water constituents using Python - Tutorial

10:59
Python is an interpreted high-level programming language which allows performing several statistical procedures. This programming language is an excellent option to create box plots because of its simplicity and exceptional results. This tutorial explains how to download and use Python´s Jupyter Notebook to analyze water quality data in the form of boxplots. Box plots show the distribution of a sample using the lower quartile (Q1), the median (m or Q2) and the upper quartile (Q3)--and the interquartile range (IQR = Q3-Q1), which covers the central 50% of the data. Quartiles are values that divide the data in quarters; the term refers to the value that falls in the line that divides each quarter. Therefore, Q1 is the highest value of the first 25% of the data, Q2 is the one of the 50% of the data and Q3, the one for the 75% of the data. Characterizing the data with quartiles is advantageous because they are insensitive to outliers and preserve information about the center and spread (Krzywinski & Altman 2014). Input data You can download the input data for this tutorial here: https://www.hatarilabs.com/ih-en/how-to-create-a-boxplot-to-represent-basin-scale-water-constituents-using-python-tutorial

The chapter provides an overview of post-hoc multiple comparison test Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is a basic but most important tool in Statistics. The simplest form is one way ANOVA wherein equivalence of treatment means are tested. If the means are not equal then the next step is to check which means are different from each other. Post-Hoc and multiple comparison tests are used to identify which pairs of treatment means differ.

A JMP® Add-In for Auto Publishing Interactive HTML Reports

30:04
In this paper, a new JMP add-in that constructs a web page and folder structure to organize an arbitrary number of interactive HTML reports from JMP is explained. This can be done without scripting at the end of an analysis session, so the user is not forced to leave the analysis flow to save reports. Users can choose reports to include in the final web page and build a stylized index page to aid a presentation. The final output is encapsulated in a folder that can be hosted on a server or shared with others. Nosek is a professor in the department of psychology at the University of Virginia. He co-founded Project Implicit, a multiuniversity collaboration for research and education investigating implicit cognition – thoughts and feelings that occur outside of awareness or control. Nosek investigates the gap between values and practices, such as when behavior is influenced by factors other than one's intentions and goals. Research applications of this interest include implicit bias, decision-making, attitudes, ideology, morality, innovation, barriers to change, open science and reproducibility. In 2015, he was named on of Nature’s 10 and to the Chronicle of Higher Education Influence list. He received his PhD from Yale University in 2002. This is the fourth in a series of talks being presented by the American Psychological Association to mark its 125th anniversary in 2017. __ The American Psychological Association is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, with more than 115,700 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students as its members.
