Incentive compensation plans represent the best, most consistent method to pay for performance, enabling an organization to deliver targeted results while rewarding employees who are responsible for those results. Incentive plans can be designed to focus on three levels of performance: individual, team and organization. Individual incentives are the most prevalent, and they have been used for many years. At the same time, increasing numbers of organizations are recognizing team and group incentives as an effective way to build cooperation and reward teamwork. Team and group incentive plans will incorporate the same design parameters as plans for individuals, but they have the added complexity of measuring performance for a group of individuals rather than just one person.

G8553 indicates that at least one prescription created during the encounter was generated and transmitted electronically using a qualified eRx system. The eRx G-code G8553, which supplies the numerator code must be reported with specific denominator billing code(s) that represent the eligible encounter Consult CMS.gov e-prescibing for more details on the Medicare eRx incentive program. The purpose of The Quality Payment Program is delivery of high-quality patient care enabling the use of a variety of tools for physicians report data to CMS and receive valuable feedback about their practice. Clinics can choose the The Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) or the Advanced Alternate Payment Models (APMs) which is mostly limited to larger practices with an accounting department. MIPS replaced PQRS, Meaningful Use, and Value Based Modifier. Clinics with less than or equal to $30,000 in Medicare Part B allowed charges OR less than or equal to 100 Medicare patients are not required to participate. If your practice is above this threshold, not participating in the Quality Payment Program for the transition year will result in a negative 4% payment adjustment which in plain english sounds like a $1,200 minimum fine at $30,000 billed!
