From my perspective, it's the leader’s responsibility because the leader is accountable for the performance of the department and each employee. 13:09
Business Psychologist Andrew Sillitoe explores why some people rise to the top 20% in their field starting with research into why young people stay engaged with sport throughout their teens. Engaging others to operate at their full potential may be less of a mystery than we think – listen to Andrew’s story about what he learnt on the road playing street hockey and what it takes to create a high performance culture. All TEDxRoyalTunbridgeWells videos recorded by Graham Hobbs, Clockhouse Productions. http://www.clockhouse.co.uk/ When Andrew Sillitoe was 9 his mum bought him a street hockey stick. An unusual gift for an English boy living in the South East of England, but in that moment, his life would never be the same. He is now one of the most recognisable names in the inline hockey scene, both as a player and coach. Andrew studied an MSc in Organisational Psychology from Birkbeck University. He wrote his first book Managing the Mist How to develop winning mind-sets and create high performing teams in 2013. Employee training and development for improved performance

05:16
Training and development of employees for improved performance. It's extremely important for business owners and leaders to recognize the importance of training and development of their employees and to take a proactive approach. Every company has competition, whether local or global. Even if you don't have competition because your product is so unique and new, you are probably competing with yourself and against time and money. You can only develop a product so long before you run out of both. Training and Development Training and development is more important than ever for your organization to stay competitive and survive. Training and development challenges employees to grow and improve. We all have untapped potential that is waiting to be unleashed, and this can be directed towards activities that will have a high impact on the performance of the organization. Employees who do not receive training and development may become resistant to change and become stagnant. This can really have a negative impact on performance since technology is driving so many changes in work methods. Being Proactive Taking a proactive approach to employee training and development is best done by first setting goals for the organization and department. This will help you to determine where current skill levels of employees may be challenged towards achieving these goals and thus you can develop a training plan for the department an individual. Hard and Soft Skills When developing a training plan is important to look at the total person. We often breaks skills and to types, hard and soft. Hard skills are those that permit us to complete a task or activity, such as running a computer program operating machine, etc. A soft skill is a behavior that determines how an employee will approach a task and interact with others. This is often neglected when looking at training needs, but is extremely important for employee and team performance. Teamwork If you want to develop teamwork in your organization and department people must learn specific interpersonal skills so that discussions can take place on how to improve things towards goal achievement. Highly evolved teams can become autonomous in problem-solving, and continuously improving work processes on their own. One good example are the telephone companies here in Canada. Over the years, most of them have trained their employees on better customer service habits and on selling. I've noticed when calling the administrative department about a billing issue that the person handling my issue always try to upsell me to an additional service. This is obviously a behavior that was learned from a proactive organization. We've all had the experience of going into a store or restaurant and were served by staff members. The other ones who create a better customer experience by how they treat you the customer. Of course hiring the right person with the right attitude and personality is fundamental, but training people on the operations and how you expect them to behave is equally as important. Aging Workforce As the working population gets older is extremely important for organizations to continuously train and develop their employees in order for people to remain flexible, open positive and creative. This will allow the organization to meet its growth objectives and retain skilled talent. Initiative One of the key benefits from the training and development of employees is increased self-confidence and self-esteem. When people feel they are better equipped to tackle new tasks and use more of their abilities, they feel more confident. People with higher self-confidence and self-esteem take more risks, make more decisions and solve problems on their own. This leads to greater initiative and thus saves the manager time to focus on growth and improvement opportunities. Stop Managing, Start Leading | Hamza Khan | TEDxRyersonU

18:13
According to Hamza, managing millennials and knowledge workers the way we used to manage traditional factory workers can be disastrous. Speaking through his own experience of being managed and alternatively as a manager, Hamza makes the case that millennials must be lead, instead of managed and given autonomy to complete their tasks, so that they may grow and reach their full potential. If you ask Hamza Khan about his role as a manager, he’ll tell you his approach to managing is to avoid it altogether. Before his success as an award-winning digital marketer and entrepreneur, Hamza was a student struggling to find a practical outlet for his creativity while pursuing a degree in business and political science at the University of Toronto Scarborough. In his third-year of university, Hamza switched his major and received a Bachelor of Arts to facilitate a future career in creative multimedia and storytelling. Since graduating, he has worked as a graphic designer and marketer, and teaches social media strategy at Seneca College. He is also credited with making Ryerson University Canada’s leading university in online student engagement. How Google Makes Managers Awesome | Michelle Donovan

36:41
Learn more about supporting managers here: https://rework.withgoogle.com/subjects/managers/ Managers matter a lot and can have a huge impact on employee performance. Support your people by sharing what makes a great manager, providing development opportunities, celebrating great managers, and more. Google hasn’t always properly appreciated management. In 2002, Google ran an uncontrolled “experiment” by simply getting rid of all managers. It didn’t go well. So in 2008 a team of researchers set out to prove what some at Google suspected - that managers don’t matter. But very quickly the team discovered quite the opposite. Managers matter a lot. The research effort, called Project Oxygen, pivoted to figure out exactly what makes for a great manager at Google. The guiding question shifted from “Do managers matter?” to “What if every Googler had an awesome manager?” Project Oxygen identified a set of common behaviors among the best managers and those behaviors now guide management development programs. The team has been able to show an overall improvement in management at Google by helping managers get better at coaching, empowering teams, managing team energy, staying results-oriented, communicating, developing teams, and sharing a vision.

Performance Reviews | Performance Evaluations & Appraisal

02:47
Learn about Different Types of Employee Performance Evaluations How to Conduct an Employee Performance Review or Appraisal http://turnkeydoc.com/human-resources/performance-management/performance-reviews/ An employee performance appraisal, performance evaluation or performance review as it is sometimes called, is a review by a manager where the employee's work performance is evaluated and strengths and weaknesses are identified, so that the employee knows where improvement is needed. Employee performance Reviews, Appraisals and Evaluations are vital for communication. Over the years there have been some new types of performance reviews, performance evaluation, or performance appraisals that are being met with success in today's business world. These require that employee performance evaluations, performance reviews or performance appraisals be done not only for raises, promotions, or bonuses, but for an employee's growth and development. These include: Management by Objectives Review: This method, often called MBO, measures the employee's accomplishments against a clearly established set of objectives. If managers and employees begin the year by working together to list these objectives, the end-of-year performance appraisal, performance review, or performance evaluation can simply compare each goal with its final outcome. This method is simple, clear, and empowers employees in the goal setting process but it disregards non-goal-related success metrics. Ratings Scale is probably the most common review type. Using this method, a supervisor rates an employee on a numerical scale for a defined set of behaviors, traits, competencies, or completed projects. This method gains points for simplicity and functionality, but it only works well if both managers and employees share the same understanding of each point on the scale. The 360 Degree Feedback Review is a new kind of employee performance review, performance appraisal, or performance evaluation. It incorporates data from peers, supervisors and even outside parties like customers and suppliers. This broad feedback can provide a multi-dimensional picture of performance that can cancel the influence of bias. The goal is to paint an accurate picture of employee's strengths and weaknesses. Gathering feedback from multiple sources is a great way to ensure employees are rated fairly and accurately No matter which type of employee performance evaluation, performance review or performance appraisal is used, remember the goal is to foster communication between managers and employees. To make your employee performance reviews, performance appraisal, or performance evaluation as productive as possible, try the following steps • Be prepared • Lead with the positive • Don't be confrontational • Keep it Simple • Be consistent • Make it a two-way conversation • Address what's important to the employee • Discuss work/life balance • Be a good listener • Give Feedback Regularly To download the review templates mentioned in this video as well as a guide on how to conduct the actual employee performance review, performance evaluation or performance appraisal, visit us at www.turnkeydoc.com Subscribe to our youtube channel to sample our "how to" video library or visit us at www.turnkeydoc.com to download your free gift! http://youtu.be/KcGhX7Htk9U Google Plus: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/107057463999675049074/107057463999675049074/about Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Turn-Key-Doc/298240720333688 Twitter: https://twitter.com/turnkeydoc/ Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8LlHO8tJf-w-BmhdJobdCw Employee Performance Review Employee Performance Appraisal Employee Performance Evaluation Performance Review Performance Appraisal Performance Evaluation

Great leadership starts with self-leadership | Lars Sudmann | TEDxUCLouvain

12:47
At TEDxUtopia, the question was asked: What would leadership in Utopia look like? To start with, imagine the best leader you have ever worked with. How did he or she get to become this type of leader? Leadership lecturer and former corporate executive Lars Sudmann argues that it's likely that they learned to overcome the "leadership formula of doom" and then developed themselves as a leader. In this funny and invigorating talk Lars walks us through the personal journeys of great leaders, shows lessons from the golden age of leadership and shares 3 strategies on self-leadership to develop yourself into a "Utopia leader”. Lars Sudmann is a leadership advisor and award-winning lecturer. He studies and researches what makes the most advanced organizations and leaders successful – and then he shares that knowledge with the world. He has had a business career of more than 10 years in management and finance with Procter & Gamble, e.g. as the Chief Financial Officer of Belgium, and he has lived and worked in Europe and Asia. Trends/Tendance, the Belgian Business Magazine, and the BBC have called on his expertise. Additionally, he is currently a university lecturer in Aachen and Braunschweig (both Germany). What does leadership in Utopia look like? How does leadership work in a future ultra-networked world? And is there one leadership ideal that we can all strive towards, and if yes, what is holding us back from achieving it? In this highly engaging talk, leadership expert Lars Sudmann will dive into the past, present and future of excellent leadership. TradeMark East Africa Managing for Results in Trade Facilitation

08:46
Current Trends and Results in Private Sector Development: Part 3 - TradeMark East Africa Managing for Results in Trade Facilitation TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) aims to remove non-tariff barriers to trade. It supports regional trade-related infrastructure, trade facilitation and trade policy and regulations across East African Community countries (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda). TMEA was designed by DFID over the period 2008-2010. As DFID was securing funding it started a number of 'fast track' projects until TMEA was established in mid 2010. Donna Loveridge, Knowledge and Results Director, highlights some key issues arising from using the framework of the DCED Standard on a pilot basis. She notes that, in the logframe, the programme goal is to increase growth and reduce poverty. The purpose level refers to increased regional integration and trade competitiveness; the connection between these two (purpose and goal) is perhaps not as obvious as had been assumed. She also talks about the process through which TMEA is going to understand how all of its activities fit together. A better understanding of the specific logic of TMEA's activities is also assisting the programme to communicate its work better, to partners and donors. Katalyst's Monitoring and Results Measurement System and the Standard

05:58
Current Trends and Results in Private Sector Development: Part 4 - Katalyst's Monitoring and Results Measurement System and the Standard Katalyst aims to contribute to increased income for men and women in rural and urban areas by increasing the competitiveness of farmers and small businesses. Katalyst is jointly funded by SDC, DFID, CIDA and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands . It is implemented under the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of Bangladesh by Swisscontact and GIZ International Services. Katalyst began its second phase in March 2008 with a budget of CHF50.67million, and aims to reach 2.3 million farmers and small businesses, providing employment for 450,000 poor people, by the end of the phase in 2013. Since its first phase, Katalyst has been working on developing a high quality impact assessment system and has contributed significantly to the development of the DCED Standard for Measuring and Reporting Results. This process culminated in the full audit of Katalyst's MRM system in May 2011. Nabanita Sen introduces Katalyst, and outlines how using Results Chains help Katalyst resolve measurement issue of working through local actors. Markus Kupper, the Director of Katalyst's MRM Group, highlights how the Standard can help encourage senior management and donors to commit to results measurement methodologies. The Standard has both given Katalyst more confidence in its results measurement and encouraged reflection on appropriate methodologies. He concludes by highlighting the value of Standard audits. SEO For Beginners: 3 Powerful SEO Tips to Rank #1 on Google in 2019

SEO For Beginners: 3 Powerful SEO Tips to Rank #1 on Google in 2019 Are you new to SEO and want to rank #1 on google this upcoming year? Here are 3 SEO strategies that will boost your rankings! #1: Focus on content Google has this update called Hummingbird, and with Hummingbird, websites who just have content on everything won't do as well as sites which focus on one single niche and are super thorough. You want to be VERY thorough with your SEO content. Poke holes in your content and fill them all up, so then that way people are like, "This is the end all site "that you should end up reading "if you're interested in dating online." #2: Optimize your title tag and your meta description Have you ever done a Google search, and noticed that every time you do it, there is this link at the top, and then there's this one sentence with a link at the top is called the title tag. And the description below is called the meta description. Now think of it this way, if you search for the phrase online dating, and you don't see the word online dating in neither the title or the description, are you going to click on the result? Well if you are, there's something wrong, because why would you click on a result that isn't related to what you're looking for? In addition to that, have you ever searched for a term like online dating? And have you ever noticed that the word isn't in the title or description? That's because Google tracks who's clicking on what listing, and they've learned that when a keyword is in the listing, that same keyword that you're searching for, they know you're way more likely to click through. So in your title tag and your meta description, make sure you include the keyword. But you can't just add the keyword, "online dating," right? The easiest way and what I would do and I wish it was this simple; I will just put "online dating, online dating, online dating, online dating." If I could put it 20 times so people would know that the article is on online dating, I wish I would get more clicks. But it's not that simple. Yes you have to include the keyword in your title and your description, but it has to be appealing. If it doesn't flow in a sentence, it's not easy to read, and it's not appealing or evoking curiosity, no one is gonna click through. #3: Use Google Search Console Did you know that Google gives you a tool that teaches you how to rank number one on Google? Yes I know that sounds ridiculous but it is true, and it's called Google Search Console. If you're not already a user of it, sign up. It doesn't cost a dollar. You're missing out if you're not using it. I can't emphasize that enough. So now that you're using Google Search Console...give it a few days because it takes some time to populate data. You'll see a screen that shows Search Analytics and this shows you all the pages on your website that are getting you traffic. But the cool thing about Google Search Console is they also show you which articles are getting impressions. Take all the keywords you're getting impressions for and start adding them to your copy. Now we have an article on Instagram, and it teaches you how to get over 300 targeted Instagram followers per day. The article is around 10,000 words. When I first wrote that article, it wasn't 10,000 words, it was roughly 2,500. I went to Google Search Console, I saw all the people that are searching for terms related to the article, I added them within that article. I made it more thorough and you know what? My SEO traffic more than tripled to that article. Yes it is that simple. And when I made that change, it didn't happen right away, but I noticed the results within 50 days. That's not a long time. Now that you've learned these three tips, I challenge you in which I want you to take these tactics and implement them, and then after you implement them, in the next 45 days I want you to leave a comment with your results. Because if you're not doing well, that means I'm not happy. ( Stress management techniques & Personality Development) Blog: http://www.learnex.in/05-simple-tips-to-help-you-de-stress-stress-management-techniques In this video from Skillopedia, you will learn 5 simple steps to get away that unwanted stress from your life. Are you constantly irritated, frustrated or aggressive. Well, this means you are so stressed. Stress is a part of life and if you are stressed, whether by your job or by something more personal then there's always a solution to a problem. But, not taking control of the situation and doing nothing will make your problems worse. So here are some stress busting techniques for you. 1. Exercise - Be Active Exercise in almost any form can act as a stress reliever. It won't make your stress disappear but being active can definitely boost your feel good endorphin and take you away from your daily worries. So be it a 40 minutes of brisk walking, yoga , aerobics or some laps in the pool you will find that you have forgotten the day's irritation and concentrating on your body. The results are - energy, optimism, calm mind and fit body. 2. Connect with people A problem shared is a problem halved. A good support network of colleagues, friends and family can ease your work troubles and help you see in a different way. If you don't connect with people, you won't have support to turn to when you need help. The activities we do with friends help us relax and we often have a good laugh with them., which is an excellent stress reliever And may be your friends or collegues can also help you out with some solutions to your problems. 3. Avoid unhealthy habits Don't rely on alcohol, smoking and caffeine as your ways of coping. This will not help you to relieve any stress in fact it will create new problems. It might provide temporary relief but it won't make the problems disappear. Drink plenty of water and eat healthy small nutritious means. Hunger and dehydration provokes anxiety and stress. So stay fit and healthy. 4. BE positive Look for positives in life and things for which you are grateful. Write down three things at the end of everyday which went well and for which you are grateful. People don't always appreciate what they have. They always tend to crib and complain about everything. Make a conscious effort to train yourself to be more positive about life. Change your perspective and you will be able to see your situation from a more positive point of view. 5. Plan something Rewarding at the end of your stressful day Rewards like taking a hot water bath or half an hour of reading a good book or even watching your favorite T.V show helps. So basically I am talking about some me time. Put aside work , housekeeping and family concerns for brief period before bed time. Don't spend this time planning for the next day or doing house chores. Remember you need time to recharge and energize yourself. You will be much prepared to face the next day. So take control of the situation you are in and say goodbye to stress with these techniques above Blog: http://www.learnex.in/05-simple-tips-to-help-you-de-stress-stress-management-techniques Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/skillopediaone stress management, tips, reduce stress, stress techniques, communication skills, personality development, reducing stress, business skills, business English, develop personality, improve communication skills, speak confidently, healthy living, confident personality, speak correct English, Niharika lessons, skillopedia, letstalkpodcast, learnex, lets talk
