It’s about taking action in ways that will lead to the greatest return. Having worked intimately with hundreds of organizations over the past 10 years as a trusted advisor, I get to see what really works. It’s not what you might expect. In this video, I’m going to share five insanely simple ideas about how to increase sales. Check it out: 1. Toss out the features and benefits. Your prospects are sick of hearing all about your products and services. Instead, simply focus on the results you achieve, as this is what your prospects actually care about. 2. Ask for one referral each day. Now I know that may sound like a lot of work, but realistically it’s no more than 10 minutes of work each day. Plus, there is no easier way to grow your sales. Just think about the math: Asking for one referral or introduction each day means five per week; that’s 250 introduction-asks per year! 3. Host a private client event. People love to come to exclusive events. Invite both your top clients and some of your top prospects. You’ll see that your top prospects will actually end up doing your selling for you. 4. Create client case studies. There’s nothing—and I mean nothing—more compelling to a prospect than an example of your past success. Develop case studies that focus on results you’ve created with your clients—not so much on the deliverables, but on what you actually accomplished. 5. Use a proposal with three options. Stop proposing just one option. This is the reason that you’re getting shopped around on price and limiting the possible size of a sale. Your prospects want options, so use proposals with three of them, ranging from a low-end, least expensive option, all the way up to the premium option with massive added value. By doing this, you’ll give your prospects the perspective to see what’s out there, and you’ll also give them the opportunity to choose the highest-end option with the most value—and that means the biggest sale for you. Today we’re going to talk about 5 tips to increase repeat customers and lifetime value. Coming up next! Tip #1 - Offer Great Service and Great Customer Experience: Customers come to you and they already expect that you’re going to provide to them exactly what they were looking for. They already expecting that you'll provide a service, a product, and they expect to have a reasonable relationship with you during that time. Provide great customer experience and great service by going above and beyond what your competitors are doing or what they would even would expect you to do. Blow them away with your follow up. Contact them all the time! Let them know how their project is going, let them know where their product is If you’re staying on top of it and staying in front of them by offering a great customer experience you increase the likelihood of people working with you again and wanting to return to either get your service or get your product another time. Tip #2 - Stay On Their Radar: 97% of people that go to your website or interact with your brand for the first time don’t convert. It doesn’t mean they aren’t a good customer or they they’re not a good fit for your business. It just means they're in a different spot in the sale funnel. Maybe they’re just researching. They’re comparing, price shopping. It doesn’t mean they’re a bad customer for you. If you follow up with them and stay on their radar using retargeting ads or any of the other myriad of marketing opportunities out there you’re able to keep that top of mind awareness and you’re able to follow the Marketing Law of 7. Which means that a consumer needs to see or interact with your brand at least 7 times before they make a decision as to whether or not they’re going to work with you in the future. Tip #3 - Automate Your Processes: Use a CRM. and use email automation. The last thing you want to do is spend all this time money and energy in driving people to your website, getting them to fill out a lead form or maybe they made a purchase, and then they completely fall off your radar and you never talk to them again! All you need to do is set up some automated process with email automation and with CRM lists and you can develop a funnel to continue nurturing these customers so they come back to you when it's time for their next service or product. You need to give your customers and opportunity to brag about you. They’ve already paid you they’ve already taken that risk, now you’be developed a trust relationship with them so give them an opportunity and an incentive to brag about their decision to their friends and their family. It’s a great way to generate new leads. It’s a great way to get your brand name out there at minimal cost to you. And you’re also able to stay in touch with the customer you’ve already worked with and all of their friends and family so you can utilize them as another opportunity to drive more business and return business back to your company. Tip #5 is to thank them and follow up You need to say thank you! Say please, say thank you, appreciate the fact that they’re spending their hard earned money with you and recognize that. This is also a fantastic time to ask them to leave you a review! Reviews are incredibly powerful. It’s an opportunity for you to develop and maintain your own online reputation. So if you provide great customer service and you follow these tips, thank the customer after the service or the product has been delivered - ask them for a review. It’s a great way to grow your business and keep people coming back to you. Finally, remember it costs 5 times more to generate a new customer than it does to keep an existing customer. If you follow these tips and provide great service and great products to your customers they’ll keep working with you! They’ll come back, they’ll become a lifetime customer and they’ll refer their friends and family resulting in a net growth for you, your business, and your community. This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. Tip #1: Focus on one product. You do not need to be selling millions of products like Amazon to do well. I met a lady who makes high heels more comfortable selling insoles. She has one product, and that's it. Do you know how much she makes? Well into the seven figures per year. You don't need a lot of products to do well. If you're on Shopify, you can use Oberlo, and that'll help make it, so you don't have to worry about the logistics. If you're only doing one product, your life becomes so much easier. Focus on one product that solves a pain point. #2: Upsell and downsell. It's easier to get someone who has bought from you once to spend more money with you than it is to get new people to buy from you. If you're selling insoles that make women's shoes nice and comfortable, your upsell could be a pack of three instead of just one. That's an easy upsell. Doing simple things like that will increase your lifetime value, which will open up more possibilities. #3: Advertise. Facebook advertising and Google AdWords both work extremely well in e-commerce marketing. Facebook ads and Google ads are a great way to boost your e-commerce sales, and you if you're not sure where to get started with Facebook ads or Google ads, leave a comment below and I'll answer you, and I'll give you feedback on how to run the perfect Facebook ad campaign or a Google AdWords campaign. #4: Leverage subscriptions. Make sure you offer subscription options. For example, if you're selling makeup or lipstick, people are gonna run out of it. The question is just when? So why not give them an option where they can subscribe and continually get new makeup? If you're using Shopify, you can use a tool called Recharge to make your product a subscription. #5: Recover abandoned shoppers. In 2017, roughly 75.6% of shopping carts were abandoned. So, you need to make them come back and buy. How do you do that? Recovering abandonment solutions, such as collecting their emails. When someone's buying from you, you're probably collecting their name and email first before you're showing the credit card information. You can do things like exit intent offers, using tools like Hello Bar, where you show them an exit offer saying, hey, thinking about leaving? Put in your name and email and I'll send you a 10% off coupon or a free shipping coupon. #6: Optimize your checkout process. Baymard did a study on checkout pages. They found when companies optimize their checkout pages, they made an extra 260 billion, that's not million, that's billion with a B, extra dollars. Don't forget to optimize your checkout process. The way you do that is by first removing unnecessary fields. Why would you ask someone for their name and email and address multiple times? That's unnecessary. Keep it simple. The other way you can optimize your checkout process is by making it two-step. #7: Leverage a referral program. If someone's buying from your e-commerce site, they probably know other people have the same problem and need your solution. Create a referral program, and you can do this through ReferralCandy. You can do simple things like, get 20 bucks when you refer someone that also signs up and buys. The key with a referral program is to incentivize both the person giving the referral and the person accepting the referral. Follow these seven tips, and you should generate at least 50 plus percent more in sales. Leave a comment below and say, hey, here's my e-commerce store. Which one of these tips should I be using first? I'll respond telling you which one you should do first, second, et cetera, so that way, you're doing the ones first that are gonna create the biggest ROI. And I can't just tell everyone, hey, go do them in this order, because it varies for each and every single e-commerce site out there. Here’s an interesting stat: the National Retail Federation shows that 40% of shoppers start their holiday shopping before Halloween. So if you’re not prepared for the holiday season by October 1st, you’re missing out! But what is the best online marketing strategy for the holidays? Here are 7 tips to get you ready for the holiday season: 1 - Figure out what holidays you’d like to run promotions for and what those promotions should be (such as a coupon for 25% off, or buy 1 get 1 free, etc…). It’s ideal to plan this annually for the entire year and then adjust as you go. But for the main holiday season you really need to be prepared by September 1st. 2 - Create leaderboard banners for your website to promote the holiday. You can also create landing pages for your website if needed, but in many cases, the leaderboard banner will do the job just fine. 3 - Write the ad copy and design all the ads for the holiday promo. Match your leaderboard banner design. Design ads for all your major marketing channels (Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc..) 4 - Design email template for the holiday promo. These should also match the leaderboard banner and ad designs (are you sensing a theme?) 5 - Determine when you want the holiday campaign to run and what daily budget you’d like to invest. 6 - Put somebody in charge of taking the campaign live (activating coupons, adding leaderboard banners, activating the ads, sending the emails, etc..) and, just as importantly - taking everything down at the scheduled time. 7 - Record your results and make adjustments for the next holiday. Save your assets! This will save you a lot of time and effort next year. By following this process you’ll be organized and prepared well before the holiday seasons so you’re not rushing things at the last minute. Marketing events is not as easy at it used to be. Here are 5 of the most advanced tactics successful eventprofs are rolling out to make their events sell out Tactic #1 - Video 65% use video as a key part of their marketing strategy. To master video for your event: Make sure to collect plenty of footage, testimonials and recorded sessions from your event Use video strategically on social media ads. It performs better than words. Use live video in the lead up to the event to get FOMO Tactic #2 - Facebook 52% of event professionals say FB is their favorite channel for event marketing. Your audience will inevitably be on Facebook and as much as we like to think that we use Facebook for personal reasons, it has become also an arena to follow our passions and professional aspirations. What you should focus on if you plan to use Facebook strategically to market your event: Use Facebook ads. Google Facebook remarketing. Get that pixel on your site and pay less for immediate marketing opportunities with those that already visited your site. Be more precise with remarketing. Get a special tag on your check out page for abandoned registration and send targeted messages to get them to finish registration, a discount will incentivize. Use video in your ads. Tactic #3 - Email Marketing 65% of eventprofs say that email marketing is the most effective tool for promoting events. Get your email marketing right: Review your data and previous campaigns. What worked? Where did you get most clicks? Create an email sequence of attentively crafted promotion emails. Use the AIDA process of sales. Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. Get your emails aligned with the different cycles. Use email to reach out to abandoned carts. Tactic #4 - Scarcity In a world with so many events happening around us and the economy booming, how do we capture the attention of our attendees? Closing the doors is an effective strategy for some events to secure attendance and create a level of exclusivity. We see an unprecedented number of events asking people to apply, invitation-only events or a referral code system. How to master scarcity: Make your event invitation-only or by application. Look for a very targeted audience that would please your sponsors or that are keen to spend more. These are your primary targets, who you want in the room. Create higher pricing options. Usually, we discount to get more people through the door. Do the opposite to create disparity in your pricing and VIP areas. Keep aspects of the event secret. Secrecy goes hand in hand with scarcity. Keeping elements of the event available only to some attendees will raise curiosity and stimulate more registrations. Tactic #5 - Event Experience 60% of event planners say that the demand for experiences is increasing. How can you elevate your event to a 360-degree experience? Introduce elements of adventure. Are you engaging attendees to the next level, are you getting them to participate in special activities, tours, scavenger hunts, city activities. The ‘bleisure’ trend is pushing this kind of need in events around the world. Craft social programmes. Connect attendees with each other. Think creatively. Think how you deliver on the needs of your attendees. Design your event around your core objective to increase the experience levels.

One is the mindset of the hunter and the other is that of the farmer. The Hunter. The mindset of the hunter is to “Track, Kill & Move On.” Hunters are quick, restless and nomadic. The rapidly assess opportunities and discover rapid solutions to generate sustenance. In sales and marketing this would involve outbound phone calls, networking, and generally canvassing one’s territory for relatively immediate sales.  The Farmer. The mindset and habits of a farmer is to stay in a one location, large or small, and to cultivate over a longer period of time. Farmers are very attune to the weather, the soil and many other factors, any of which could aversely affect his crops in the upcoming months or even years. When times get tough, they have a hard time moving on to new lands like the hunter. But their advantage is that they can feed hundreds of people for months and months when they do their job right and consistently. When developing a complete sales and marketing strategy plan it is important to factor in both types of personalities and tactics. One needs the hunters to find and bring home immediate sales. But it is also important that you have farmers who are tending to those who require nurturing. By doing so, future “crops” of leads will bear fruit.  The Biggest Mistake The biggest mistake that any small business, start-up or corporation could make it to believe that all you need are more hunters to get in more sales. That's a bunch of BS. Today, I'm going to share with you how I built a six-figure business in 90 days using Facebook ads and how you can too. Sign up for Facebook Ads then sign up for Webinar Jam. Webinar jam is a webinar software that allows you educate and sell people online. You see all these ads on YouTube and Facebook for people saying, 'register for my webinar.' Why do you think they're doing them? It's because it's an easy way to make money, and I hate to say it most of the people who are doing this, suck at everything other than selling on the webinar. They don't have that many skills. Why don't I do it anymore? I don't care for the money, but I'll share with you how you can do it step by step, so the first thing, as I mentioned, sign up for Webinar Jam. Webinar Jam is a software that allows you to do a webinar and sell on there. They also have this other software called EverWebinar, which you'll also need, and it allows you to do a webinar once, but make it recorded so that way your webinar continuously seems like you're holding a new one every 15 minutes. So, people can sign up and then join your webinar. Now that you've got your webinar up and running and going create a webinar. The webinar can be on anything, how to create an Amazon business, how to do something that you're good at. Something that other people want to learn. So with your webinar, the first part is educating. The first 30 to 40 minutes of your webinar presentation should be educating. Showing tips, techniques, strategies that they haven't seen before. And then after you did that you're like, 'Hey, did you like these techniques?' Did you think they were amazing? There are amazing techniques, but I have ones that are way better. Would you like to hear those? Do I have your permission? And the reason you are asking their permission, is because you're asking them, hey, can I sell you something in other words, right? Then, on the webinar, sell it to them for a price. The price could be a thousand bucks. Usually, you want to have somewhere between $500 and a thousand five hundred. But the price that you choose has to be discounted. So, if you're selling it for $500, the original price needs to be $2000, $3000, or whatever it may be. With Webinar Jam, you can also put a countdown clock. Right in their settings, they break down that you can put a timer. When you put a timer, it tells people that this offers only valid until the end of this webinar or the next week, or whatever you decide that you want to end up using. And when you do that, people know time sensitive. And when it's time sensitive, they're much more likely to buy instead of thinking if they want to buy. Now that you've got the webinar up and running, you want to drive traffic. Through Webinar Jam, you can just throw up a landing page, get people to opt-in. You want to keep it simple. Maybe have an image of you. Tell people what they are going to expect on the webinar, and then an opt-in. And then when there's opt-in, you can use Twilio, people will get a text reminder, and they'll start joining. And then as they join and they show up to the webinar, you'll start getting sales. And when you are having your webinar timing so when they can sign up and listen to it, make sure you have a webinar that starts every 15 minutes. Remember, it's recorded, you don't have to be in the webinar every 15 minutes. Instead, other people can just join whenever they want, that means that when you're sleeping, you could be making money. How to Make Money With Facebook Ads - The Numbers And you give you a rough idea; I was selling a thousand dollar product. For every hundred webinar registrations, I would get 3.6 sales, and roughly 20% would refund. I would still make well over $2000, and for those hundred webinar registrations in general, I would be paying six bucks per webinar registration. So, that means I'm spending $600 to make more than $2000, right, I don't know what the exact math works out to, but I think it's around like $2500, or $2800, after refunds or even three grand, whatever it may be. But the point I'm trying to say is, the math works out well. Facebook advertising can be extremely lucrative if you have the right Facebook marketing strategy.

It's persuasive copy. No, I'm not talking about a tool or anything like that. It really is copy. Just think of it this way, someone lands on your site, whether you do ads or SEO or email marketing, they check out this product that you're selling, but then, they don't see much. They just see a few sentences, maybe a picture. You think they're going to buy? No, that's why over 95, 98, 99% of your visitors don't convert. And it's why you're creating eCommerce products, putting them on your store and you're like, huh, why am I not getting any sales? It's because of the copy. You're not interacting with the person. When you go to a physical store, you're interacting potentially with a salesperson. That salesperson guides you, they help you, they, oh, you need this size to try on for this shirt? Oh, this looks good, oh no, that doesn't look good, you shouldn't get that, but instead, you should get this. You don't have that on the web. So, what do you have to do to convince people to buy? You need persuasive copy. So now that you know that it's persuasive copy, let's go over a few things that you can do to make sure that your copy is truly persuasive. One, talk about the benefit. It's not just about hey, I'm selling this product, it's about the solution that, that product is giving people to their problems. For example, if you're selling toilet paper, and toilet paper, the one that you're selling is so soft people don't have a rough bum from that, your solution is ultra-soft toilet paper. It'll make you feel like your bum is sitting on clouds. I'm making it up. And if your reviews on that page enforce that, you're going to get more sales, right? So, you have to talk about the solution and the benefit that your solution is providing. The second tip I have for you, persuasive copy isn't just copy. A picture says a thousand words. So, if your pictures are amazing in your eCommerce product, you'll do really well. Taking professional pictures, 360 degree view cameras, showcasing your products, all this stuff will help boost sales and conversions. The third thing, reviews. The copy isn't just about how much can you convince people to buy your product, it's also how much can other people convince others to buy your product. You need a lot of reviews on your site. Whether they're bad reviews or good reviews, let them all through because they'll help tell other people if they should be buying your product. And the fourth tip when it comes to persuasive copy, you need to make sure you go really in-depth on every little thing that your product provides. Every feature, every nook and cranny of it.
