04:28
This will be Lesson-05 (Part 5.3) in MS PROJECT 2010 Course and we will learn about: • Assigning Material Resources to Tasks This includes: 1-Entering Resources on Task Information Tab 2-Entering Resources in Detail View 3-Adding Assignment Units Material resources can also be assigned to tasks the same way as Work Resources -- through Task Information Tab, Detail View, etc. When Material resources are assigned to a particular task, there is no effect on the task duration, because material has no work related component. Material Resources add up to the task cost based on the number of units of the material being used. http://www.grook.net/microsoft-project-tutorial *** Please do not forget to subscribe to our social networks: *** YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/GROOKnet FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/GROOKnet TWITTER: https://twitter.com/grooknet RSS: http://www.grook.net/rss.xml GROOK: http://www.grook.net/

Choosing Architectural Materials

19:58
A primer on how to choose architectural building materials. In part 4 of the architecture short course I share my personal system for selecting materials and I walk you through the selection process for the case study residential project we've been following. **RESOURCES** for a detailed look and review of my new material storage system (shown in the opening scene) as well as my favorite print, video and supplier resources look for the companion video to be released in the next few days. Also check: http://thirtybyforty.com/choosing-architectural-materials The lesson is divided into five general categories: 1 - Physical characteristics 2 - Context 3 - Experiential qualities 4 - Cost 5 - Manufacturing concerns Each category can be thought of democratically, that is, none is necessarily more or less important than another. Your design will begin to suggest what materials best represent your ideas. Study the work of architects like Tadao Ando, Louis Kahn, Peter Zumthor, LeCorbusier or Aalto – and witness the depth of knowledge and skill they deployed using a relatively limited set of building materials: wood, concrete, glass, and brick. You can say quite a lot using a very spare palette of materials. The real lesson here is that the material selections were a result of intentionally considering all aspects of the experience I wanted to create for our client as well as the necessity of building something durable and meaningful here in an extreme coastal environment. It has to look good and tell the right story. It has to comfort and shelter, reduce and minimize our impact on the site and recreate - in an abstract way - the quiet of the forest in the new place we’ve created. It’s a tall order, but by following a process which prioritizes the most important characteristics for each part of the architecture you can find a methodology for choosing wisely. Material selection requires you to be an observer and student of the built world. Study buildings you admire and note how the material qualities effect how you feel there. Choose a few simple materials and get to know them deeply. Concrete and wood are excellent places to start. And if you’re like Tadao Ando, perhaps make a career of. Learn to exploit their inherent qualities: heavy and light, cool and warm, malleable and permanent. Use these as a basis for your own explorations and tests to make your designs more truthful, more beautiful and more interesting. // GEAR I USE // DRONE SHOTS: * DJI Mavic Pro: http://amzn.to/2hOAWOP DSLR CAMERA: * Canon 70D: http://amzn.to/29klz7k LENSES: * Canon 24mm f2.8 Lens: http://amzn.to/29l7ac5 * Canon 40mm f2.8 Lens: http://amzn.to/29x2QcI AUDIO: * Rode VideoMic Pro (hotshoe mtd.): http://amzn.to/29qlNM3 * ATR-2100 USB (dynamic mic): http://amzn.to/2dFDaKp ARCHITECTURE GEAR: * Prismacolor Markers: http://thirtybyforty.com/markers * Timelapse Camera: http://thirtybyforty.com/brinno * AutoCAD LT: http://amzn.to/2dxjMDH * SketchUp PRO: http://amzn.to/2cRcojz * HP T120 Plotter: http://amzn.to/2dBGf1O * Adobe CC Photography (Photoshop/Lightroom) Plan: http://amzn.to/2dhq5ap STARTUP TOOLKIT: * Architect + Entrepreneur Startup Toolkit: http://thirtybyforty.com/SPL -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Is THIS an Architecture Practice? How to almost make 90K Resources every hour for a LIMITED time in Ikariam

03:00
This is recorded during a Holiday Bonus week with 30% bonus to Building Material production, generating the incredible combined income of 88440 from a lvl41 Wine Luxury and lvl49 Sawmill 88440 per hour is the same as 2.122.560 per day. Also at the time of the recording this isand and its neighboring island were the highest on the UK servers with 90 Resource levels in total each (41/49 & 40/50), total maximum levels for Sawmils and Luxury's is now 60 for each, with the last sawmill level costing theoratically about 1 billion resources, however with current population and happyness limitations in the game its probably counterproductive going further than lvl50 for sawmill and lvl42 luxury due to excessive wine bleed in taverns and gold bleed due to most all citizens working in the mines/mills.

Rolek Resources' near-term manganese project viable for multiple markets

04:05
Rolek Resources Ltd (ASX:RLK) managing director Ian Stuart speaks to Proactive Investors about the company's newly acquired advanced Barramine Manganese Project and its near-term development strategy. "The Barramine Manganese Project is unique in that it's had a lot of work done on it previously, some $7 million worth of drilling [and] over 300 holes, and a very solid comprehensive body of geological work," Stuart says. He continues, "so it's a near-term production opportunity for us. "Manganese is a vital component in steelmaking and the price is always underpinned by steel - the market grows about 2% year-on-year. Increasingly it's being used more and more as a component in cathode material in the battery space."
Tinka Resources Limited: in synch and in zinc

05:09
Graham Carman, chief executive of Peru-focused zinc explorer Tinka Resources Limited (CVE:TK), says these are exciting times for the company. The recent surge in the price of zinc suggests that the company is in the right market, at the right time, as the world is dealing with a supply shortage of zinc, with few new projects in the pipeline to address that shortfall. Tinka, to be fair, is still only at the exploration stage with its flagship Ayawilca project, but it recently raised C$11mln from institutional investors and is ready to drill and grow its resource. The company is fully-funded for the next 12 to 18 months for what looks set to be a busy period. Carman promised “lots of news flow for investors”. “The potential’s huge,” Carman asserts. “We have a large resource already, but we want to make it even bigger. The geophysics that we’ve done indicates that we’ve only drilled 30% of the project,” Carman stated. To put that into perspective, Ayawilca has two separate inferred mineral resource zones: one of 18.8mln tonnes (Mt) at 8.2% zinc equivalent, and another of 5.4 Mt at 0.89% tin equivalent. Both are open for expansion, and Carman reminded Proactive Investors that the company had increased the permit footprint of the project. The company is not hanging about either, with drilling scheduled to start in January. The plan is to drill 15,000 metres, and 30 to 40 drill holes. All of that drilling will produce plenty of material for analysis, and it won’t be until towards the end of the year that the company will be in a position to publish an updated mineral resource estimate. “We’ll then move to a PEA [preliminary economic assessment] if it makes sense at that point,” Carman said.

Q&A: Working with Limited Resources

02:31
Question: Prioritizing design needs with limited financial resources – First, it’s best to attempt a garden with intention feeding ourselves. – From the garden, we can assess the inputs and outputs required to maintain it. – We should start small but with something meaningful and, then, expand from there. – Doing it this way helps us to avoid large failures and losses. – The first general considerations for a full design are water, access, and structures.

Alkane Resources tells the hafnium tale

06:46
May 30, 2017 -- Ian Chalmers, Managing Director of Alkane Resources Ltd. (ASX: ALK | OTCQX: ANLKY) in an interview with InvestorIntel Editor Peter Clausi discuss the Dubbo Project and hafnium. The Dubbo project, northwest of Sydney, Australia, is abundant in rare earth elements – all of which are of interest to Alkane and their investors. However, Alkane’s trump card is hafnium. While discussing the relationship between hafnium and Alkane, Ian highlights the major drivers for hafnium demand, as well as new applications. Peter Clausi: I would imagine the past year has been an interesting one for you. Ian Chalmers: That’s one way to describe it, yes. Peter Clausi: Tell us a little about that. Ian Chalmers: Trying to advance the Dubbo Project through financing, we’ve really done everything we can do in terms process development, market development. We’re effectively construction ready, just trying to put the financing in place. Started off with a billion dollar project and now working on cutting that into two slices. That’s a good step forward. Peter Clausi: Where is the Dubbo Project? Ian Chalmers: It’s about 400 kilometers northwest of Sydney in a region they call the Central West, which is a strange name for something that’s near the east coast, but that’s what they call it. It’s a very civilized part of the world to operate in. Lovely countryside, farming countryside, all over infrastructure, everything you need and a good place to live. Peter Clausi: Now at PDAC in Toronto this year was the first time that I heard about hafnium. Ian Chalmers: Right. Peter Clausi: Good old element 72 on the periodic table. Tell us about what you’re doing with hafnium. Ian Chalmers: Well, it’s as long story. I’ll give you the shortened version. We were approached 4 years ago by a large aerospace group to say, “what are we doing with the hafnium in our deposit?” We said, well, the hafnium reports with the zirconium. Most zirconium products have hafnium. That’s the way it lives. They said, “well if you can separate it and get it out we’d be very interested.” We embarked on a process to look at hafnium and really then looked at, first of all, the technology of getting it out. It’s very complex, but we’ve got a process. Secondly, I suppose getting into the hafnium space we suddenly realized that here was a metal that had this enormous potential with an enormous amounts of R&D taking place that showed lots and lots of opportunities so very interesting product… Disclaimer: Alkane Resources Ltd. is an advertorial member of InvestorIntel Corp.

The Best Ways To Find Teaching Resources for EFL | Teach & Live abroad!

03:23
Starting your first teaching job can be a nerve-wracking experience for any newly qualified teacher. With any luck you will find yourself working in a well equipped school with a set curriculum and all the resources you’ll need readily available. Unfortunately, this is not always the case and some schools may not even have a chalkboard for you to use let alone the latest IWB hooked up to the students’ iPads. In this case it is important for a teacher to know where to look for appropriate materials for their classes, whether it is to supplement those resources already provided or to start a course from scratch. If you know that you are headed to a school with limited resources before you leave home, and this could be the case for anyone volunteering in the poorer regions of the world, a good idea is to buy yourself a set of course books appropriate for using with your students. Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press both publish excellent course books and other resources to suit a range of abilities and ages. OUP’s Headway series is great for older learners and Cambridge’s Essential Grammar in Use books are an invaluable resource for any teacher. Individual resource books or packs are a great source of games and activities; they usually cover one area such as grammar games or communication activities and have pages to photocopy for use in your classroom. The internet is one big resource library for English teachers, if you have access to it of course. There are hundreds if not thousands of sites aimed at providing ideas and materials for English teachers mostly run by working teachers themselves, and as long as you have access to the internet and a printer you can find almost anything you could need for your classes. You should also consider asking your colleagues if they have anything you could use, most of them will either be in the same position as you or will have already been there so may well have something to share. You can also make your own materials, enabling you to build up your own extensive library of teaching resources for use throughout your career. Lightweighting by Valmet – more board with less resources

02:48
http://www.valmet.com/coatedboard http://www.valmet.com/sustainability The world is made of resources. The more we use them, the less there are. In a globalized world, where the consuming population keeps on expanding, the demand for goods and packaging grows. This creates a need to use limited resources more efficiently. Valmet has risen to the challenge to create more with less. Wood-based packaging continues to strengthen its foothold compared to plastic, metal and glass as a renewable and recyclable option. The less raw material is used to produce fiber-based packaging, the more competitive this option becomes. Valmet offers several technologies that enable the production of lighter board products without compromising quality or visual properties. This is achieved with lightweighting. Alternatively, with lightweighting an average mill can use the same amount of raw materials than before to produce 700 million more milk cartons. The benefits of lightweighting extend to each stage of the value chain. Packaging producers need less board for their products. Transporting lighter products decreases the environmental impact. Less energy is needed at every stage. And less waste is created thanks to recycling. Lightweighting allows board and packaging producers to optimize raw material usage, board quality and production capacity.

Largo Resources' Mark Smith on producing the highest quality vanadium in the world today

09:30
September 8, 2016 -- In a special InvestorIntel interview, Sr. Editor Fred Cowans speaks with Mark Smith, President and CEO of Largo Resources Ltd. (TSX: LGO | OTCQB: LGORF), a growing strategic mineral company presently focused on the production of vanadium at their Maracás Menchen Mine. Mark explains that vanadium is mainly used to manufacture rebar that provides resistance to seismic events in addition to hundreds of other uses. They talk about Largo’s Maracás Menchen Mine in Brazil, which Mark believes has the highest ore grade and the lowest unit cost of production in the world – explaining further that the material produced at Largo’s Brazilian mine is the highest quality vanadium being produced in the world today. Fred Cowans: You’ve got a great story in vanadium. Just for the benefit of those of us that don’t deal with vanadium on a regular basis could you explain its uses please? Mark Smith: Vanadium is actually quite widely used in the economy and has just literally hundreds and hundreds of uses. I think to just kind of quantify it easily so that people can feel like they understand this market better, just think of vanadium as something that strengthens steel. Over half of the vanadium that’s produced in the world today is actually used in the form of rebar, which provides seismic protection and, you know, strengthen and safety for us as human beings. That’s obviously one of its largest uses. The second largest use would probably be in steel tools. Again, it’s all about making that steel tool hard and stiff and strong so that when you and I are chiselling something or grinding something we’ve got a very hard material to work with, which makes our job a lot easier. Fred Cowans: We’ve been accustomed at InvestorIntel of hearing stories about strategic metals and industrial metals being controlled in one market and being consumed in another market. What are the supply and demand geographic logistics for vanadium? Mark Smith: Vanadium is a little different than some metals in that there’s basically four countries that produce the material so it’s a little better than some, a little worse than others. The four countries that produce vanadium today would be China. China produces about 50% to 55% of the world’s production. The second country in terms of large production used to be South Africa, but through some bankruptcies as a result of the resource industry and tough times for vanadium pricing last year we’ve now probably made Russia the number two producer in the world. And it’s probably 17% to 20% or so. South Africa and Brazil are roughly tied in terms of capability to produce and we’re probably somewhere in the 10% to 12% each in those categories. So the problem with that Fred is of course the numbers don’t add up to 100%. That’s largely because China is actually higher than 55% right now as a result of the South African material coming off the market. China may be upwards of close to 65% at this point in time. Fred Cowans: Now your deposit and you’re in production. You’ve been in production, commercially since the last quarter of--- calendar quarter of last year. You’re unique though. You’ve got the largest resource and the highest quality. Mark Smith: This is an unbelievable resource. One of the things that I like to do is, both as an investor and an executive, is to start out with having a world-class resource before I engage in any of anything with any company and Largo clearly meets that standard. I mean this resource at our Maracás Menchen Mine in Brazil is massive, 45-kilometer long strike length 150 meters wide. We only drilled down to about 350 meters. We’ve got a very continuous homogenous ore body in this area....to access the complete interview, click here Disclaimer: Largo Resources Ltd. is an advertorial member of InvestorIntel.

Hexagon Resources 'absolutely focused on commercialisation,' financing graphite project

10:01
Hexagon Resources Ltd (ASX:HXG) managing director Mike Rosenstreich introduces Provocative Investors to the graphite company's vertically integrated operations, discussing the McIntosh project in Western Australia as well as processing test work that has achieved high nines purity levels. "It's exciting to have a foot in both that traditional application [the steel industry], but also the high-growth topical aspect of energy storage [batteries]... the thing that enables us to have that dual focus is the quality of the graphite at McIntosh," says Rosenstreich. He continues, "We recognise that graphite's not a commodity: it's an industrial mineral. The secret to getting an industrial mineral up and commercialised is to find the markets for it. Rather than spend a lot of money on drilling and building the biggest resource, which is a very mining company approach, we've been focusing our funding on understanding the markets and understanding the technical attributes of our material; and then working from that customer and technical understanding of the market back into the resource."
