10 Strange Things Happening In The World Right Now

11:50
You won't believe these 10 Strange and Mysterious things happening in the world! From nature’s weirdest phenomenon to things being seen in the sky, there are explanations that we’ve yet to discover. For thousands of years, we’ve blamed ghosts, deities, and other anomalies for the mysterious things we’ve encountered. Luckily, we’ve had science to step in and give us some answers. But science can only go so far. Interested? Check out other amazing stories about our world and subscribe to the channel! ► http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Richest ◄ Like "20 Terrifying Things Found Deep Underwater" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpmy5DJ8Wxw or "10 Most Powerful Military Weapons That Had To Be Banned" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6qGCh1J0jQ and "10 Unbelievable Things Found Deep In The Woods" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd0OXFLNmSw Our world is one of the most beautiful planets in the solar system. And yet, it is also one of the most mysterious planets we’ve ever known. There are countless secrets being uncovered each day. It is truly amazing just how much we don’t know about Earth right now. You would think that after thousands of years of existence, humans might have solved every mystery already? Well, not exactly. While humans are relatively young, the earth is billions of years old. This means that human existence is just a mere blip on this massive radar of Earth’s life. We might not figure out all of Earth’s secrets by the time humanity goes extinct. At least us humans are using our time wisely. There are so many inventions and new technologies out now that makes research so much more productive. Technology has saved us a lot of time, giving us more time to discover new secrets faster than ever before. And yet, there are things still puzzling us. From the seas parting, to biological things lighting up like electricity, and weird sounds being heard all over the world, it seems like what we can’t explain is borderline terrifying. Even with all the knowledge available to us, we don’t have all the answers. We are probably the smartest generation of humanity since the invention of the internet. While we’ve all become scientists in our own right, Mother Nature is still the ultimate scientist. Top 10 Horrifying Cities You REALLY Don't Want to Live In

14:32
Check out our New Biography Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/biographics There are many great cities out there to live in, but there are also some you would rather stay away from. Some are obvious. They’re known for simply having high homicide rates, or perhaps less than great water quality. However, there are also some cities out there that are so bad at certain things, that they would be absolutely horrific, and almost impossible for most people to stand living in. And yet, despite the everyday horrors, some people manage to live in these cities their entire lives, and find a measure of enjoyment in the world around them. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 Help us translate our videos: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_queue?msg=10&tab=0 - Learn more why you might want to help: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6052538 Find more lists at: http://www.toptenz.net Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! Are Journalists Safe in the Mideast and Around the World?

A freedom of the press conference held in Jerusalem addressed the topic. Our Emily Rose has the story. Story: Social pressure against the Kremlin was successful. Russian investigative journalist Ivan Golunov will be released after all charges were dropped against him. During his imprisonment, protesters called for his release and said he was framed as an attempt by the state to stifle journalists Golunov’s case attracted global attention to freedom of the press. “We just saw a Russian journalist being framed like a drug dealer. We see a lot of things going on, in terms of going after journalists, and we should all be aware of it and raise our voice against it,” says Director General of the Jerusalem Press Club Uri Dromi. The ordeal is reminiscent of the chilling case of missing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. “Obviously, that case has been a worldwide issue and a worldwide concern for journalists. I’m on the board of the overseas press club and we are very concerned about that and actually, I think it’s been, as horrible as it was, a highlighter the risks that journalists take worldwide to get the truth out,” explains LA Times Managing Editor Scott Kraft. He adds, “And to tell the story and to be above board journalists, who have an important voice and the importance of telling the truth — even when it involves governments that don’t want that truth to be told.” “The idea of freedom of the press is something that is so firm and clear in my mind as it should be, but it’s also very clear that it’s delicate,” says Vox journalist Johnny Harris. He adds, “It’s affected how I feel about this wonderful thing that we get to do, which is to talk freely about issues.” “But it’s also kind of woken me up to the fact that this is delicate, when the president of my country is very anti-the-press. It just shows how much that could flip flop.” As The Jerusalem Press Club hosted its annual conference on press freedom, experts took to the podium to warn that today’s press is under fire. “I think journalists, even in Israel, are concerned about their security, their safety, and its starts with censorship and it starts with oppression of publishers. It starts from self-imposed censorship and then it goes on to things on social media,” says Dromi. “As awful as that was and every journalist who was in danger today, in jail being tortured sometimes, obviously there have been killings, a few in the last year or two, it’s a reminder to us of the importance of the work, and also I hope it’s a reminder to readers and viewers and listeners out there that people are taking great risks to do it,” Kraft says.

Instead, they fight indirectly by supporting opposing sides in other countries and inciting conflicts. This is known as proxy warfare. And it’s had a devastating effect on the region. Countries, especially poor ones, can’t function if there are larger countries pulling strings within their borders. And that’s exactly what's happening in the Middle East. The Saudi-Iranian rivalry has become a fight over influence, and the whole region is a battlefield. 14 Reasons the Philippines Is Different from the Rest of the World

There is a country where over 175 languages are spoken, people text more than anywhere else in the world and boxing fights directly influence crime rates? It sounds pretty much unbelievable, but it’s all true in the Philippines! And among other things, it's an amazingly beautiful country with extremely good-looking people! They are safe, air-conditioned community hubs with gyms, health clinics, concert halls, nightclubs, parks and even churches inside! - Filipinos send about 400 million texts a day, and that’s around 142 billion texts a year. It’s more than the U.S. and Europe put together. - If you visit Manila, you’ll notice some interesting looking vehicles called jeepneys. They are converted US army jeeps that stayed in the country after World War II. - The Philippines are, without a doubt, a super scenic location. Among all of the islands that are part of it, Camiguin sure stands out, with more volcanoes per square mile than any other island on the planet. - The national flag of the Philippines has two bands of blue and scarlet, and a white triangle at the hoist with a yellow sun with eight rays, each of them standing for one province of the country. - Filipinos love boxing and are crazy about their most famous boxer Manny Pacquiao. Whenever he fights, the whole country is glued to its TV sets. - Banaue rice terraces are the oldest in the world and were so smartly designed, they still bring a harvest of rice and vegetables, most of which get exported. - For years, the Philippines had been the number one producer of coconuts in the world. And even though the leadership now belongs to Indonesia, 153,532,000 tons per year is still an impressive number. - Ferdinand Magellan made the first record of the archipelago among the Europeans in 1521. He founded the first settlement in Cebu and thus most of the area became a Spanish colony. - If you love to sing along, you ought to thank Filipinos for your favorite pastime! The first karaoke machine in the world was created in 1975 by Roberto del Rosario. - Along with their love for boxing, texting, and shopping, Filipinos are crazy about beauty pageants. They have won in all the major international pageants 15 times. 10 Unique Animals You Won’t Believe Exist

09:42
10 strange and amazing animals that you have probably never heard of. Nature is truly full of surprises! We live in the twenty-first century, and all continents have already been discovered, all secrets of our planet revealed, all mountain peaks conquered. Just when you think you have seen it all, some new bizarre creature makes an appearance instantly restoring your faith in the impossible! TIMESTAMPS Mangalitsa Pig, a.k.a. “a pig in sheep’s clothing” 0:50 Rhinopithecus or golden snub-nosed monkey 1:33 Emperor tamarin 2:13 Patagonian Mara 3:04 Fluffy cow 3:52 Markhor Goat 4:44 Raccoon dog 5:23 Blue Footed Booby 6:25 Malayan Colugo 7:13 Venezuelan Poodle Moth 8:09 BONUS 8:56 SUMMARY - The birthplace of this curly-haired pig is Hungary where it was discovered in the mid-19th century. Due to the fleece covering this animal, it resembles a sheep, therefore, such a name! - The name of this species is roxellana, and there is a story behind it. It is believed that they were called this way after the supposedly snub-nosed courtesan of Suleiman the Magnificent (a 16th century Sultan of the Ottoman Empire). - They were called like this because of the resemblance of their mustache to that of German Emperor Wilhelm II. - Patagonia Mara is the fourth largest rodent on our planet. There are several interesting facts about them. Females often put offsprings into crèches for safety. - Fluffy cows are looked after by people whose work is to wash, dry and use products to style these animals, so they look as fluffy as they do! It is necessary to maintain them daily, and it will take months of regular grooming until they get this lovely look of kids toys. - If you see a creature which looks as if it’s trying to catch an alien radio signal from space, it’s most likely Markhor Goat. They can grow as long as 6 ft from head to tail! - If you can’t decide if you want to have a dog or a raccoon as a pet, we have just the thing for you - raccoon dog! Despite having raccoon-like markings on their fur, they are not very closely related to the North American raccoon. - Blue Footed Booby are to catch your eye if you ever visit the Galapagos Islands. They can look a bit clumsy and comical on land, but they are excellent at flying and swimming. - Colugo has a large gliding membrane (like a flying squirrel), and they can glide for long distances between trees standing far apart. - Even if the Poodle Moth may look as if it lives in Antarctica with all this fur, in fact, it comes from Venezuela, a tropical country. Its hairs don’t serve for heating. BONUS Cloud Antelope! This species lives in the clouds (that’s why such a name)! Its bright blue fur is the reflection of cloudless blue skies in the area of its habitat. Its diet consists of sun rays and candies... Titanic Survivor Claims an Iceberg Didn't Destroy the Ship

10:23
Have you ever met a person who hasn’t ever heard the story of Titanic? Unlikely. Even if you ask a 10-year-old, they’ll tell you exactly what took down the gigantic ship. However, some survivors of the sinking legend would beg to differ. Here’s one of their stories, and it has nothing to do with an iceberg. Armenian publicist Vaghinak Byurat was 25 years old in the spring of 1912. He described what happened on his journey to America on the most famous ship in the world in his memoirs. He’s never mentioned an iceberg hitting the Titanic, and always spoke about an explosion. And if what he said was true, something must have caused that huge explosion... 💥 Btw, guys, there is a cat hidden in this video. He described what happened on his journey to America on the most famous ship in the world in his memoirs. - In 1912, Vaghinak published some books together with his father, a famous Armenian writer. His task was to take the books to America. - They went to bed rather late on April 14, just like on the other nights. Shortly after midnight, something that sounded like a big explosion woke everyone up. - None of the crew members wanted to say anything, but a few minutes later it was impossible to deny that the Titanic was going underwater. - Vaghinak put his passport and money in a little bag and tied it around his neck. The Titanic’s bow was already underwater by that time. A lot of people in this situation wouldn’t have dared to take it to the open water. - The water in the North Atlantic that night was just below freezing, at a scary 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-2 C). The young writer felt his arms and legs go numb, and he was understandably getting weaker and weaker every second. - Then, he bumped into something. It was a lifeboat! But it was so overcrowded they pushed the young man with a paddle when he tried to stick to the boat. - Vaghinak woke up alive on board another ship. That ship was the Carpathia, and it was en route to New York with lucky survivors on board. - 12 days later, a woman came into the room. She turned out to be the person who saved Vaghinak. Missis Astor told the sailors that the young man was her son, and she wouldn’t let them go without him since she’d already lost her husband on the Titanic. - Vaghinak lived a long and happy life and, as a great storyteller, he shared what happened to him many times. Interestingly, he’s never mentioned an iceberg hitting the Titanic, and always spoke about an explosion. - It could have been a fire, and quite a lot of people actually believe that theory, saying that coal was burning in the ship’s hull. - Another theory that explained the explosion claimed that there was a German U-boat involved in the sinking of Titanic. 17 House Details in the US That Puzzle Foreigners

09:32
The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave… and apparently huge freezing-cold houses with weird sockets? What’s so strange about American homes? Well, when non-American people find themselves in American houses they often point out how bizarre some things are. Wearing shoes inside is one of the things that confuse foreigners, cause most of the world has a pretty strict policy about taking your shoes off at the front door. Also, Americans usually don't have tea kettle in the kitchen, and their toilet bowls are full of water. Interested? So let's see what an ordinary American home looks like! Other videos you might like: 21 Things in the US That Puzzle Most Foreigners https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1HxW5vc_lU& What Every US State Is Best and Worst At https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFAqes3Hbxc& 16 Crazy Things That Are Considered Normal In Other Countries https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7vz01_MMxk& TIMESTAMPS: Big houses 0:23 A room for everything! 0:52 Huge personal washers AND dryers 1:27 Basements 2:10 The abandoned dining room 2:36 Serious about fire safety 2:58 Wall-to-wall carpeting 3:43 How low can you go? 4:09 Toilet bowls full of water 4:50 One faucet to rule them all 5:28 Crank up the AC 6:02 Wearing shoes inside 6:28 Switchless sockets 6:56 No tea kettle in the kitchen 7:24 Garbage disposals 7:45 Flags everywhere 8:10 Pristine lawns 8:34 #America #USA #Americanhomes Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The typical American home is pretty big and spacious compared to other countries. - There are closets for clothes in each bedroom, usually one near the front door for coats and shoes, one in the bathroom or hallway for towels, one in the kitchen in the form of a pantry. - Speaking of rooms, there’s also usually one just for doing laundry. Also, most Americans have both a washer AND a separate dryer, and they tend to be big too! - A lot of American homes have gorgeous finished basements that serve as another living space. It might be in the form of a guest room or a recreational area to hang out in. - Fire safety is taken so seriously in the States that landlords can get in big trouble if they don’t immediately fix a non-working smoke alarm for their tenants. - Low-sitting toilets actually serve a purpose – being closer to the ground is a healthier and more natural way to, ya know, do your numbers. - In the US, sinks always have just one faucet, and you can customize the temperature of the water however you like. - Most families are totally ok with wearing shoes inside around the house, as long as they’re not muddy or anything. Sure, there are those American families that don’t do it. - Apparently in Europe, you have a switch to either allow the power to flow by turning a button on or cutting it by switching it off. In America, you don’t have this option. - Garbage disposals are a lot more common in the States. In fact, over 50% of American homes have one. - Americans really do love to display the ol’ Star-Spangled Banner, so most homes here have at least one hanging outside the house. - Americans like to take care of their yard. Plus, most neighborhoods have rules about it! Why My Family's Cost of Living is Cheaper in Tokyo

7 days left to back the documentary! https://igg.me/at/lwif-being-japanese-documentary/x Here's the thing. I moved from Vancouver, Canada, to Tokyo, Japan. In Canada, I used to make more money, yet my quality of life is somehow better across the Pacific ocean. This is largely in part due to the cost of living being cheaper for my family. The Rise of Fentanyl: Drug Addiction On The I-95 – Two Years On

57:03
Drug overdose is now the main cause of death for Americans under the age of 50, they are more likely to die from a drug overdose than a car accident or gun. More than 70,000 people died from overdoses last year as opioids and illegal fentanyl – which is up to 50 times stronger than heroin – unleashed the worst public health crisis in American history.
