How to Save Transparent Background in Photoshop CC 2017
Learn how to retain transparency and save an image with transparent background in Photoshop. We'll talk about how you can save your photos with or without background. In this episode, we'll also talk a little bit about image file formats like, JPEG, PNG, PSD, TIFF etc. and which ones support or does not support transparency. ► Please SUBSCRIBE for more Photoshop Tip videos like this in future: https://goo.gl/94umrc Whether you want to have a transparent background for your logo to insert that as a watermark in all your images or video, (Yes, all major video editing softwares including Premiere Pro supports transparent objects) or you are making composites, you need to have objects and images with transparent background. Let us understand what exactly an object with a transparent background is. An object with a transparent background when imported into any photo or video editing software DOES NOT bring with it it's background to form a rectangle or square. Usually an object which was built to be transparent and not saved with a transparent background, will automatically acquire white to be it's background color. On the other hand, an image with a transparent background will take whatever is in layer below the object layer as a background. Now, saving images with transparent background, all boils down to image file formats. Now, there are tons and tons of formats, but the one thing that you need to know is, there are some formats that support transparency while some don't. When you save an image with a transparent background in Photoshop, you need to make sure that you are saving it in a format that supports transparency. The best format for transparency retention is undoubtedly PNG. I'm doing this demonstration on Adobe Photoshop CC 2017. There are other formats that do support transparency but PNG is the format that is accepted worldwide across almost all platforms. Hope this video helped you. Cheers!

Video formats: what it is and which one to choose to export?
In this video, we will introduce different types of video formats and what video format should you export depending on different purposes. More video editing tips, visit https://filmora.wondershare.com/?utm_source=filmora_seo_channel&utm_medium=annotations&utm_campaign=Advanced_Videoformats The world of video formats can be pretty confusing. What do they all have in common and how are they different, which one to choose? In this video, we’ve put together some useful information that will help you better understand all these questions. What is video format? Different types of video formats? Video format, technically referred to as “container formats”, is a type of file format for storing digital video data on a computer system. These include audio, video, and sometimes even subtitles. Different file formats do different things, and the right video format for a specific purpose isn’t necessarily the right one for the others. Generally speaking, the most popular video container formats include: AVI, FLV, WMV, MOV, MP4, MPEG etc. Depending on different purposes, they can be categorized into 4. Which video format to choose? The first type is sharing format that are best for online video platforms. If you are making and uploading videos to online video sharing platforms such as Youtube, Vimeo, or Daily motion etc., MP4, FLV and WMV can be a good choice. On the one hand, all these file formats are supported by mainstream video platforms so there’s no need to worry about the compatibility issues. On the other hand, they have relatively smaller file sizes while still maintaining high quality. So it’s very easy to stream and can also provide good watching experience. Second type is HD format that are best to be watched on TV or Computers. For those of you who want to watch the video at home on the HD TV or computers, you probably want to export your movie masterpieces in a format with the best video quality. MOV, AVI, and MKV are great for that purpose. They are the best quality video format for HD TVs, cons are that they usually have much larger file sizes. If you want to burn the video onto a DVD, choose to export as MPEG-2 or VOB. In general, these two video files have the best video quality. However, please note that 60 minutes of video can take up several gigabytes of hard disk space, so be sure to have enough storage space. And you can easily and quickly burn your video to a DVD with Wondershare Filmora. If you are building a website and have some content in video format, WEBM or HTML5 should be the best practices. They have relatively wider browser support and smaller file sizes, which can easily be embedded to your website. Those are the 4 major types of video formats depending on different uses!

Creating High-Res Icons Tutorial for RocketDock
Hi! This is PSNewb from HWP. I'm here to show you how to create high-resolution icons for RocketDock or ObjectDock or Whatever. I suggest you have a look on our forum for tutorials from other members and myself. If you enjoy my videos and/or have any ways in which I could improve my videos, please comment. (I cannot use a microphone guys, sorry!) As always there will be a written tutorial followed by links. WRITTEN TUTORIAL: * Create a new canvas, 256 x 256, resolution 300. * Find the image you are going to use for your icon. (I am using a cursor.) * Create a background, I use either a circle, or a rounded rectangle. * For a Circle, select the eliptical marquee tool, hold shift, and drag. * Next fill with any colour of your choice. (I used a blue.) * Make sure this is behind your image (Cursor for me.) * Select the pen tool, and create a kind of, squiggle, that engulfs one half of the circle. * Select the circle (Ctrl Click layer thumbnail) and then select inverse (Ctrl + shift + I) * Delete the portion of the squiggle, that you do not want shown. * Create a flattened circle/elipse. * Fill this with white. * Reduce the opacity, I go for around the 70% mark. * Create another squashed circle/elipse, and this time make a gradient going upwards. * Reduce the opacity of this. * Flatten the image. * Double click the one layer and hit OK. * Delete the space around. * Select the icon. (ctrl click thumbnail) * Go to your channels tab and press the "Save selection as channel" button. * The channel "Alpha 1" will appear. * Hit the empty space next to the channel. NOT THE CHANNEL!!!!! * An eye should appear where you just clicked. * The background will turn a transparent pink. * Save as an interlaced PNG. * Now you edit the icon options of whatever you are creating the icons for. ROCKETDOCK USERS: To change the icons: * Right click the icon. * Select "Icon Settings" * Press the "+" button. * Find the folder you saved your PNG in. * Push the preview on the right hand side. * Hit OK. ::LINKS:: design forum http://www.helpwithphotoshop.co.uk RocketDock http://www.download.com/RocketDock/3000-2340_4-10856104.html?tag=mncol&cdlPid=10856105 !!FOR MY CURSORS AND XP THEME!! How to Glitch Your Videos!! | After Effects Tutorial
Quick and easy glitch effect, and no stock footage needed. By a person with a short attention span for people with short attention spans :) When I am talking about the 3D glasses effect you will see a little annotation pop up pointing to one of the options. This type of 3d effect was used in the thumbnail and retains the original colours, and looks great as a glitch. Consider it before you do the last method of colour separation as it takes a lot less time. Hope this helps!!

How To Create an 80's Style Chrome Logo Text Effect in Photoshop
In today's Photoshop tutorial we're going back to the 1980s to create a rad text effect based on those 80s style chrome logos we used to see for games, movies, TV shows and more. The overall design incorporates the classic bold chrome text effect with a hot pink script font. It's all done in Photoshop using a mix of layer styles and colour overlays to reproduce the shiny metal effects and vibrant colours.
