NOTE: Formula "pij = ui+vi-Cij" according to this formula the optimal values should be Zero or less than Zero which mean Zero or negative values, and in this formula if we did not reach the optimality then we should select the maximum positive value to proceed further. If you use this Cij-(u1+vj) formula then the values should be zero or positive value to reach the optimality, and in this formula if we did not reach the optimality then we should select the maximum negative value to proceed further. We can apply either any any one of the formula to find out the optimality. So both the formulas are doing same thing only but the values of sign (- +) will be differ. With the Break It Down-Build It Up Method! http://www.jesseleemason.com Music by Millish - Download our music (that's me on the acoustic guitar) at the iTunes Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/millish/id128839547 0:00 INTRO: In this video we solve a combination series and parallel resistive circuit problem for the voltage across, current through and power dissipated by the circuit's resistors. 1:32 BREAK IT DOWN: We redraw the circuit in linear form to more easily identify series and parallel relationships. Then we combine resistors using equivalent resistance equations. After redrawing several times we end up with a single resistor representing the equivalent resistance of the circuit. We then apply Ohm's Law to this simple (or rather simplified) circuit and determine the circuit current (I-0 in the video). 7:36 BUILD IT UP: Retracing our redraws, we determine the voltage across and current through each resistor in the circuit using Ohm's Law. 12:51 POWER: After tabulating our solutions we determine the power dissipated by each resistor.

In order to better understand ‘direct measurement’, we’ll develop the real number system from counting numbers. We’ll add zero and then negative numbers to get the integer number line. At that point, we introduce the basic mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. With these we use Peano’s Postulates to identify the associative, commutative and distributive properties of whole numbers. We then extend the integer number line to the rational number line and illustrate the Trichotomy property. We then cover irrational numbers – going back to the ancient Greek philosopher Hippassus – including his proof published by Euclid. Combining sets, we’ll construct the dense and continuous real number line, and identify the problems with irrational numbers that persisted until the late 1800s when Richard Dedekind developed his real number line cuts. And finally, the real number line is then used as the bases for direct measurement where we will identify a key difference between Math and Physics. Along the way, we’ll see: the Bakhshali manuscript where we see the first use of zero; the earliest written reference to negative numbers in the Chinese book “The Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art”; an algebraic exercise that purports to show that the number one equals the number two; some key issues with the number zero, division and exponents; and a way to multiply by doubling and halving. Richard Dedekind around 1870 introduced a new way of thinking about what a real number `was'. By analyzing the case of sqrt(2), he concluded that we could associated to a real number a partition of the rational numbers into two subsets A and B, where all the elements of A were less than all the elements of B, and where A had no greatest element. Such partitions are now called Dedekind cuts, and purport to give a logical and substantial foundation for the theory of real numbers. Does this actually work? Can we really create an arithmetic of real numbers this way? No and no. It does not really work. In this video we raise the difficult issues that believers like to avoid.
