It costs you not only your focus, but your willpower and future focal power as well. If you’re looking for something, search for ONE thing, find it… and then stop. Limit your browsing and get back your brain. 2. Define your mission. Most people show up without any intention and, as a result, they end up doing too many things that aren’t important. Ask yourself, “What do I desire in life? What should I be doing with my time at this moment to further my life and mission?” Figure out the steps ahead, take focused action, and be ruthless in minimizing time spent on anything else. 3. Say NO to everything immediately, as a first response, from now on. Don’t immediately commit to projects anymore. Check them against your mission and passions. Ask, “Should I focus on this right now in my life? Yes or no? Is this good for me or bad for me? Is this the right time or wrong time?” Learn to say no to anything that doesn’t fire your heart with full commitment and enthusiasm. Staying focused is one of the most important skills in life. It’s time to commit to getting back to a simple approach to life, to focusing on only one-to-three major things at a time. How do I evaluate my search results?
So you've started your research in the library catalog or your choice article database. You have a great list of results but now what? How do you navigate through your results list to find the best resources for your project? This tutorial will walk you through the types of resources you might find in your results list and will help you identify when these resources would be the most useful. The first thing to remember is that the library catalog and article databases are not like Google. The first item that shows up in your results list may not always be the most relevant to your topic. You may need to scroll through your results list to find the best resource for your project. Once you find a great resource, remember to use subject headings to find more items like this. When starting your research, ask yourself: 1. When was the source published and how does this affect its usefulness for your purpose? 2. What type of audience is the author addressing, specialized or general and how does this impact your use of the source? 3. How extensively does the source cover the topic? Is the information appropriate for your project? Is it either too simple or too complex? Too broad or too specific? Let's take a closer look at each type of resource to see where it falls. Sometimes a source will indicate that it is a "review". Other times you'll need to dig a little deeper to determine the item is a review. Reviews of books and media can be helpful to give you an overview of what the item is about, give background on the author, and will sometimes identify strengths and weaknesses of the work. These can be helpful in determining if the item will be a useful source for your paper. If it looks good, search for the item by title in the library catalog to find out if it is available in the library. Unless your assignment specifically calls for book reviews, it is best to locate the item itself to use in your project. Journal and magazine articles have a specific focus and present the most current information. There are three categories of article publications: scholarly or peer-reviewed journals, popular magazine, and trade publications. Scholarly or peer-reviewed articles are often indicated as such in the library catalog and article databases. These articles are written for scholars with terminology related to the field. They are reviewed by a panel of scholars in the field for accuracy. Scholarly articles general come with footnotes and or references at the end of the article. For more information on scholarly or peer-reviewed articles, please see our tutorial on "what is a scholarly journal article?" Popular magazine articles are written with a more general audience in mind. These articles are reviewed by a single editor. References may or may not be included at the close of the article. Trade publications contain industry specific information, written by people who work in that particular industry for others who work in the industry. Articles from trade publications are also vetted by a single editor. Books are great sources for a broader look at an issue. Chapters of books or book indexes can also be used to find information on a specific topic as well so if you're having trouble finding information on your topic, sometimes broadening your search terms and looking at books can help. Books generally have a longer publication cycle than articles and thus may not be as current as articles. Reference sources such as encyclopedias are a great source of information to get you started on your research. Reference sources are written by subject experts and are helpful to consult before starting your research to get background information on your topic and keywords for your searches. Remember, as you go through your results list consider: 1. When was the source published? 2. What type of audience is the author addressing, specialized or general? 3. How extensively does the source cover the topic? These questions will help you determine how useful the resources is for your project. Qualitative analysis of interview data: A step-by-step guide

The steps are also described in writing below (Click Show more): STEP 1, reading the transcripts 1.1. Browse through all transcripts, as a whole. 1.2. Make notes about your impressions. 1.3. Read the transcripts again, one by one. 1.4. Read very carefully, line by line. STEP 2, labeling relevant pieces 2.1. Label relevant words, phrases, sentences, or sections. 2.2. Labels can be about actions, activities, concepts, differences, opinions, processes, or whatever you think is relevant. 2.3. You might decide that something is relevant to code because: *it is repeated in several places; *the interviewee explicitly states that it is important; *you have read about something similar in reports, e.g. scientific articles; *it reminds you of a theory or a concept; *or for some other reason that you think is relevant. You can use preconceived theories and concepts, be open-minded, aim for a description of things that are superficial, or aim for a conceptualization of underlying patterns. It is all up to you. It is your study and your choice of methodology. You are the interpreter and these phenomena are highlighted because you consider them important. Just make sure that you tell your reader about your methodology, under the heading Method. Be unbiased, stay close to the data, i.e. the transcripts, and do not hesitate to code plenty of phenomena. You can have lots of codes, even hundreds. STEP 3, decide which codes are the most important, and create categories by bringing several codes together 3.1. Go through all the codes created in the previous step. Read them, with a pen in your hand. 3.2. You can create new codes by combining two or more codes. 3.3. You do not have to use all the codes that you created in the previous step. 3.4. In fact, many of these initial codes can now be dropped. 3.5. Keep the codes that you think are important and group them together in the way you want. 3.6. Create categories. (You can call them themes if you want.) 3.7. The categories do not have to be of the same type. They can be about objects, processes, differences, or whatever. 3.8. Be unbiased, creative and open-minded. 3.9. Your work now, compared to the previous steps, is on a more general, abstract level. You are conceptualizing your data. STEP 4, label categories and decide which are the most relevant and how they are connected to each other 4.1. Label the categories. Here are some examples: Adaptation (Category) Updating rulebook (sub-category) Changing schedule (sub-category) New routines (sub-category) Seeking information (Category) Talking to colleagues (sub-category) Reading journals (sub-category) Attending meetings (sub-category) Problem solving (Category) Locate and fix problems fast (sub-category) Quick alarm systems (sub-category) 4.2. Describe the connections between them. 4.3. The categories and the connections are the main result of your study. It is new knowledge about the world, from the perspective of the participants in your study. STEP 5, some options 5.1. Decide if there is a hierarchy among the categories. 5.2. Decide if one category is more important than the other. 5.3. Draw a figure to summarize your results. STEP 6, write up your results 6.1. Under the heading Results, describe the categories and how they are connected. Use a neutral voice, and do not interpret your results. 6.2. Under the heading Discussion, write out your interpretations and discuss your results. Interpret the results in light of, for example: *results from similar, previous studies published in relevant scientific journals; *theories or concepts from your field; *other relevant aspects. STEP 7 Ending remark Nb: it is also OK not to divide the data into segments. Narrative analysis of interview transcripts, for example, does not rely on the fragmentation of the interview data. (Narrative analysis is not discussed in this tutorial.) Further, I have assumed that your task is to make sense of a lot of unstructured data, i.e. that you have qualitative data in the form of interview transcripts. However, remember that most of the things I have said in this tutorial are basic, and also apply to qualitative analysis in general. You can use the steps described in this tutorial to analyze: *notes from participatory observations; *documents; *web pages; *or other types of qualitative data. And that's exactly what I want to go over today, the benefits of fasting on your brain and you mind. We've been taught that eating at least three square meals a day is necessary to have a healthy body and mind. Instead of relying on our natural hunger signals many of us have become accustomed to eating out of routine and for entertainment and enjoyment rather than out of true hunger. This has caused many people in the developed world to gain weight, body fat, and develop insulin resistance. Ironically thanks to this, fasting has emerged as a practical, and sustainable solution for weight loss, but fasting has been practiced for centuries before weight gain and obesity became a problem due to the fact that it has so many other benefits especially within the realm of cleansing and healing. One of these benefits is known as autophaghy which is when your body destroys old or damaged cells. When you constantly eat you're body stays in a building mode and it has no reason to enter this natural, regulated process of autophaghy where unnecessary and dysfunctional components of your cells are destroyed and cleared out. It's activated when you stop eating for a period of time and that doesn't mean that you have to fast for a long extended time frame. Fasting for more than 6 hours begins this cleansing phase, so you can experience the benefits with a simple intermittent fasting approach, where you fast for only 16 hours a day. Autophaghy is essentially a way for the body to repair and cleanse itself and we definitely want to allow our bodies to undergo this process because If old or damaged cells stay in your body, they create inflammation and other problems. This natural process of destroying the old allows our bodies to bring in the new. Which leads to many benefits for your brain. Dr Mark Mattson has been studying the brain for well over 20 years. He's a professor of Neurology at John Hopkins University, and he claims that fasting has been shown to increase rates of neurogenesis in the brain. Neurogenesis is the growth and development of new brain cells and nerve tissues. Higher rates of neurogenesis have been linked to increased brain performance, and improved memory, mood, and focus. This has been tested in studies that have confirmed that intermittent fasting stimulates the production of new brain cells. According to Mattson fasting only twice a week could significantly lower the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's and it can help you develop protective measures against damage from a stroke. The shock of fasting stresses the brain in a good way, much like stressing your muscles when you workout. This stress leads your brain to create new cells. The benefits of exercise and fasting on the brain are linked closer than most people think. Both increase the production of protein in the brain, which in turn promotes the growth of neurons, it promotes the connection between neurons, and the strength of synapses which are the junctions that connect your nerves to other nerves and allow them to send signals and communicate with eachother. One of these proteins that get boosted from fasting is an important protein called BDNF. BDNF has been called “Miracle Grow For Your Brain.” It makes your brain more resilient to stress and more adaptable to change helping with the production of new brain cells, and protecting your current brain cells while boosting memory, improving mood, and learning. The easiest way and what I would do and I wish it was this simple; I will just put "online dating, online dating, online dating, online dating." If I could put it 20 times so people would know that the article is on online dating, I wish I would get more clicks. But it's not that simple. Yes you have to include the keyword in your title and your description, but it has to be appealing. If it doesn't flow in a sentence, it's not easy to read, and it's not appealing or evoking curiosity, no one is gonna click through. #3: Use Google Search Console Did you know that Google gives you a tool that teaches you how to rank number one on Google? Yes I know that sounds ridiculous but it is true, and it's called Google Search Console. If you're not already a user of it, sign up. It doesn't cost a dollar. You're missing out if you're not using it. I can't emphasize that enough. So now that you're using Google Search Console...give it a few days because it takes some time to populate data. You'll see a screen that shows Search Analytics and this shows you all the pages on your website that are getting you traffic. But the cool thing about Google Search Console is they also show you which articles are getting impressions. Take all the keywords you're getting impressions for and start adding them to your copy. Now we have an article on Instagram, and it teaches you how to get over 300 targeted Instagram followers per day. The article is around 10,000 words. When I first wrote that article, it wasn't 10,000 words, it was roughly 2,500. I went to Google Search Console, I saw all the people that are searching for terms related to the article, I added them within that article. I made it more thorough and you know what? My SEO traffic more than tripled to that article. Yes it is that simple. And when I made that change, it didn't happen right away, but I noticed the results within 50 days. That's not a long time. Other Proteins- Study Results | Thomas DeLauer... Does collagen protein help you build muscle in the same way that other proteins do? It's a pretty common question, and something that a lot of people wonder. And the thing is, there are so many collagen supplements out there right now, it leads us to believe that that is the case, that collagen does help us build muscle in the same way that other proteins do. Well, collagen is still a protein, and of course it still has an effect on protein synthesis, but it works in an entirely different way. What I want to do is I want to talk to you about how collagen works within the body when it comes down to building muscle or maintaining muscle, and I want to reference a couple of studies, so that you fully have an understanding of what's happening. It's not like all proteins are created equal, and it's not like all instances of life are equal. You see, we have to look at the given situation. Collagen has been proven to be a very good protein when it comes down to protein synthesis for someone that's on a low protein diet. Now, before you shut off this video thinking that you're not on a low protein diet, let me honestly say that if you're doing anything like a ketogenic or a low carb diet, you should be on somewhat of a low protein diet in the first place, simply because that's how the ketogenic diet works. Now, if you're looking just for good old fashioned muscle building and you're not on a keto diet, collagen still has some benefits, and I'll get to that in a minute. But for now, let's talk about what collagen truly is. See, collagen is the most abundant protein within the human body, making up over 30% of the overall protein in our bodies to begin with, and it's made up predominantly within what's called the extracellular matrix. This extracellular matrix is involved in every tissue in the body and helps support every single cell that's in our body. So collagen has some powerful functions, no matter what, whether it's for your hair, your skin and your nails, whether it's for muscle building, whether it's for connective tissue, you name it, it's involved in one way or another. But the question is whether collagen actually contributes to you building some more muscle if you're working out. Well, the British Journal of Nutrition took a deep dive on this, and I thought it was pretty interesting. So what they did is they took a look at 53 individuals, these were older men that were suffering from what is called sarcopenia. Sarcopenia is just a simple age related atrophy of the muscles, where you get older and your muscles start to shrivel up and go away. So it's a good viable accelerated example to look at to see whether collagen can actually stop this process. So what they did is, over the course of a few weeks, they split these 53 men into two groups, one group had a collagen supplement and the other group had a placebo. What they found is that those that had taken the collagen supplement had a significant decrease in fat and a significant increase in fat-free mass, meaning an increase in overall muscle tissue. 5 Pro Tips for Better Camera Focus | Cinecom.net
Manual camera focus gives you greater control over your camera, but it's isn't always so easy to get it right. Learn 5 tips for better camera focusing. I shoot many event movies or other promotional films on a DSLR camera. Having a shallow depth of field is a great advantage, but at the same time also a disadvantage as it's harder to focus. But this shouldn't keep us away from shooting those cinematic shots on a wide open aperture. There're many tools that can help you with manual camera focusing. But lets be honest here, nobody likes extra costs which only results in a more bulkier camera. One great advantage of working with a small camera like a DSLR is its small and lightweight form factor. With some tricks, used by many professionals, we can get great camera focusing. 1. Know your lens The first tip is probably the most important one of all; know your lens. The more familiar you are with your lens, the better you know how the focus ring reacts. Professional focus pullers are able to focus real time Steadicam operators by just looking at the scene and calculating the distance between the camera and the subject. For single camera operators, this ability is also a great advantage to focus fast and more correct. In the video you will learn a nice way to practice this. 2. Focus Pulling The depth of field is always a specific area. When closing the aperture, this field gets bigger, which makes it easier for us to keep things in focus. But this also applies to the distance of the focus. Close objects have a smaller depth of field, while objects further away have a much greater depth of field. This also means that focus pulling will usually be easier when starting from an object closer to the lens and then pulling to something further away. 3. Following the Subject In the third tip we'll have a look how to keep someone in focus while following with the camera. The distance between the cameraman and the subject plays a big role here. You need to constantly measure this distance and adjust when the distance changes. This can either be done by adjusting the focus or by moving slower or faster. This tip also show you a away to practice this technique. 4. Focus Marks When having more time to put things up you can create focus marks. Normally you would use a follow focus for that, but it's perfectly possible without one. Just paste some tape marks on your lens for two or more focus points in your scene. Now you can focus very fast and accurate to specific points. 5. Focus Gear I promised not to included any third party gear, but this one is so simple you can make it yourself or buy one for just $3. I'm talking about a focus gear here. This is used for a follow focus, but I find them very useful for handling the focus with your hands as well. The study was a small pilot study to see if the American microbiome would gain microbial diversity (which we, as Americans, greatly lack) when exposed to European foods and colonizing probiotics for 2-4 weeks. To accomplish this, we measured the microbiome of ten American adults 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after a 2-4 week European trip. To add a twist to this study, I wanted to see if LifeSpa’s Flora Restore MAX, a colonizing probiotic, would boost the microbiome diversity and maintain that diversity for 2 weeks after the European trip – which would suggest the proliferation of new microbial residents was maintained. Working on a computer or doing anything else will put a damper on the quality of your sleep. 3. Eat a TON of protein and low carb vegetables cooked in high quality fats. So you’ve cut our carbohydrates and are focused on getting great sleep. Your next question should probably be, “Well, what do I eat?” During the carbohydrate detox, you will want to consume lots of protein at every meal. Foods like organic chicken, organic eggs, grass fed beef, and salmon are great sources. High quality whey protein is another good source if you’re not a meat eater. Anaerobic exercise to help you lose weight 4. Anaerobic exercise 3x per week AFTER the detox process. This is one of the most common mistakes people make when learning how to lose weight fast. In AdWords, keyword match types determine how much control you have over the searches that trigger your ads. There are four different keyword match types. Broad Match Broad Match Modified Phrase Match Exact Match Plus there are negative keywords that you can use to prevent certain words or phrases from being associated witih your search query. Broad match offers the least amount of control over your keywords. But, sometimes, when you’re just starting an ad campaign, you need to use broad match keywords to test the market and gather data quickly. In these cases, where you are testing the waters with PPC, you can gain more control over how Google displays your broad keywords by using the broad match modifier. Today, we’ll look at how broad match modified keywords work in AdWords. Then I’ll show you how to quickly add the modifier to your keywords, using AdWords Editor. And we’ll check out how to make single keyword ad groups that use three keyword match types. Broad keywords are bad One of my 10 Commandments of PPC Management is “Broad is Bad.” The 10 Commandments are my guiding rules for PPC advertising. This past November, I gave a presentation on the 10 Commandment of PPC Advertising at the DMSS conference in Bali. You can watch the full presentation in the video below. Why is broad match bad? Broad keywords give control of your advertising to Google. If you were to advertise on the keyword “werewolf novels,” using broad match, your ad could display for all sorts of unrelated search terms. Your ad could rank for searches related to: “werewolf costumes”, “travel novels”, “prince concert tickets”, and “scuba equipment.” And when a searcher who’s interested in travel novels or werewolf costumes clicks on your ad, you pay for the click! The result is that you pay for lots of wasted clicks. Or no one clicks your ad because it’s not related to the search. Then your Quality Scores tank and your ads don’t display at all. Those results? They are bad! Using simple logic, that implies that broad match is bad!! Broad Match Modified One way to make the broad match type more targeted to your keywords is to use the broad match modifier. Adding the broad match modifier to your keywords is a simple as placing a “+” before each word you want to modify. The modifier tells google that there must be a close variant of your keyword in the search for your ad to display. So if your keyword is “werewolf novels,” then “novels on werewolves” and “werewolf cheap novels” are still acceptable searches for your ad to display on. But, “travel novels” and “scuba equipment” are ruled out because there are no close variants in these searches. Broad match modified strikes a balance between broad coverage and control of your keywords. Here’s where broad match modified falls on the spectrum of all the keyword match types. Keyword Match Types Broad Match: Keyword and all it’s synonyms as interpreted by Google. Broad Match Modified: Searches that include the keyword, and/or close variants of the keyword. Phrase Match = Exact Keyword, with other terms before or after you keyword. And your keywords can appear in any order within the search. Exact Match = Exact keyword only Why should you use broad match modified keywords? 1) Because these keywords produce valuable data in your search term reports. Modified broad match can help you learn how people use your keywords in search. Broad keywords populate your search term repot with lots of data about the searches that trigger your ads. Mining your search term data will show you which keyword variations are working the best. You can use this data to adjust your keywords to target the searches that are resulting in conversions. You can also add search terms that are resulting in wasted clicks to your negative keywords list. 2) Google doesn’t like it when you go too granular, too quickly (from my experience). In my experience, when you start off with a super refined ad campaign, Google doesn’t like it. If you go 100% phrase and exact match from the get-go, Google doesn’t display your ads, and you get little to no results. I’m not talking bad results. I’m talking no results at all. Fenugreek – This is another unqualified natural testosterone booster herb, just like the rest on this list. It is, again, a libido enhancer that stacks well with the other herbs to get a good effect.
