Private Sector vs. Public Sector
If you were mailing an extremely important package, you'd probably trust FedEx more than the U.S. Postal Service. But why? Is it because FedEx is a private company, while the post office is run by the government? What are the differences between the "private sector" and the government sector? Why does it matter? Find out in this animated two-minute video. Donate today to PragerU! http://l.prageru.com/2ylo1Yt This video is part of a collaborative business and economics project with Job Creators Network. Politicians in the media often talk about the private and public sectors of our economy but what's the difference? And which one is more effective? The private sector is made up of businesses or corporations owned by people. The private sector includes malls, grocery stores, and your local diner. To make a profit in the private sector, businesses must earn our money by offering us products and services that we want or need. When businesses have to compete for the same dollars, prices go down because no one wants to pay twice as much for shoes at one store if you can get the same pair cheaper at another place. On the other hand, the public sector is not supported by profits. It doesn't have to compete for our dollars. Instead, the public sector uses our tax dollars to fund its services. So we pay for these programs no matter how much or how little we use them. The government decides how our tax dollars should be spent in the public sector. This makes sense for some things. For example, you probably wouldn't want firefighters or police officers competing with one another for your business. In other cases though, this means things cost more or service is worse. The U.S. Post Office has $100 billion in debt and is regularly bailed out with taxpayer money. And the Department of Motor Vehicles isn't usually known for fast, friendly service. In contrast, private companies know that if they offer poor customer service and don't make money, they'll go out of business. When comparing the private sector with the public sector, it's clear that the market-driven private sector is more efficient. When you don't have to be profitable or accountable, things tend to be more expensive and the service is worse. So when there's a choice between a private sector or a government service, think about that package you really need delivered.

ASHA Special Interest Groups: Learn, Share, Connect
http://www.asha.org/sig/join/ By joining ASHA's Special Interest Groups, members gain access to exclusive online periodicals, Perspectives; ability to earn CEUs for $5; receive special discounts on select Short Courses at the ASHA Convention and on registration fees for ASHA's Health Care/Business Institute and Schools conferences; 24/7 access to a vibrant online community; and the opportunity to serve in volunteer leadership roles to address professional matters within the SIG and larger ASHA community. TRANSCRIPT: Mark DeRuiter: I'm involved in it because it really adds an element to my daily work that is difficult for me to do without. Geralyn Timler: I monitor the community site for SIG 1. I'm constantly impressed by the ideas out in the trenches, so to speak. And I think there's a nice energy because of new ways of communicating back and forth. Roberta Aungst: The exchange of information, and the ability to just bop back with a thought or an idea or a question—there's just nothing to compare it with. Debra Suiter: I think Perspectives is an excellent benefit. There are just some phenomenal articles in there that I go back to—articles that were written ten years ago, and I'm still using those in my class because they're just that good. Robert Moore: Of course, there's always the continuing education units that we can earn by reading the Perspectives. And sometimes that's handy when you get to December and—whoa—you're a couple of hours short. You can get those really quickly. Judy Rudebusch: It's where I go to connect with friends. It's where I go to solve problems. It's where I go to find and use resources. It's where I go to connect with other school-based providers—speech pathologists and audiologists—who are interested in the same things I'm interested in.

Information Security is about far more than just the technology
Controversial as it sounds, Martin Smith, Founder of The Security Company and The Security Awareness Special Interest Group believes we've solved the technology issues in information security. But with constantly developing platforms and ever-more sophisticated hackers, can this really be true? In this interview, exclusive to Information Security FS, we discuss the current state of the information security industry, with a particular focus on financial services technology, explaining how we need to recognise that securing our data means securing against people, not machines and how businesses need to re-shape their data security operation to protect effectively against potential threats. Information Security FS is the only information security conference for financial services professionals, 13-14 November 2012 in London. Financial institutions are under attack! From community banks to large investment banks, asset management and payment companies: the information security scenario is undergoing a deep transformation process throughout the financial services industry. Internal and external threats are not only risking the operational side of the business, but financial institutions are also risking the most important asset: their customer's confidence. Financial institutions today are custodians of increasingly valuable personal information and the risks associated with that should mean everything to their business -- but how can they manage this? Get the answer at InformationSecurityFS.com

Wordpress Funnel Training: How to build a website sales funnel for remarketing and lead generation
Download my best website blueprints: http://bit.ly/webblueprints and convert more of your website visitors FASTER! In this video, I'll design the same website sales funnel used by Ryan Deiss and the Digital Marketing team- guaranteed to convert more sales from your website than any other design. For more on web marketing and lead generation, Subscribe to my channel: http://bit.ly/XkdbXS --------------------------- SOCIALIZE : Tweet Me: http://www.twitter.com/owenhemsath Facebook Me: http://www.fb.com/yourvideospot Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/owenhemsath Snapchat: owenhemsath --------------------------- Video Notes: Today I'm gonna be covering how to build a sales funnel for a Wordpress Web Design. So just know that what I'm covering today gives you like a whole type of view on what is happening in the internet marketing industry. This sales funnel system might be too advanced for a smaller business but I'll cover a smaller system toward the end. 1. So, first off, it starts with your cold, your cold leads. All right, these are people that have come from a Facebook user group or, or like an interest group from your Facebook ads or your YouTube ads. Or maybe they're like it's a look-a-like list, right? And, you're marketing to them through a series of social media ads, okay? 2. We're gonna send them to a content based page in your Wordpress website- like an article or a blog. This starts the sales funnel. It's content that teaches them something new. We don't make any sales. But here's what we do. On this page we pixel them, okay, and it's called pixeling. We're going to put an ad right here to in this content based website page. Right? And they can click on that ad and go to our Wordpress landing page. But if they don't, let's say that they read the blog and then go back to Facebook today, tomorrow, next week. We're gonna target them with another ad that is exactly this ad right here. 3. That's when they go to your wordpress landing page. So we are not sending cold leads to the landing page, we are sending warm leads to the landing page through a targeting ad that began with the pixel. On your landing page you're going to make an offer they're either going to say yes or they're going to say no. 4. If they funnel into a no, we still have them pixeled and we can continue to make different offers to them on Facebook. We could even do it, we could target them with a discount, right? Let's say that we were offering a $10, you know, fishing hook or something like that. 5. If they funnel into a yes, here is what we are going to do. If they buy your ten dollar product here. Let us say that this is a ten dollar product, they are going to go to a thank you page (very easy to design in a wordpress website). And on that thank you page we're gonna make an enhanced offer. So- a low cost offer to bring them in and then we get them on the tripwire, 'kay, where they say yes once and we get them, get them to say yes again. And we're able to market to them, to them through our e-mail marketing program and through our retargeting program because this page is also pixeled. NOTE: We know that they've gone to a different point in our sales funnel and can receive different ads. Plus, now we're not showing our ads to everybody. We're just showing our ads to people who have already expressed interest. This is how it, this is how you do it. Okay, now, let's go back to this tripwire page. 6. Let's say that they say no to the tripwire. Well, guess what? We still have them pixeled. And we're still able to target them through an email marketing campaign, because they already said yes to the original offer. So now they said no to the upgrade, we can still hit them in our email marketing campaign. This is something that's a little more difficult to put together. Let me show you a real simple version. If you're, if you're you know kind of a smaller business, here's what you want. You want to have an ad. That ad leads to a landing page. On that landing page, they say yes, they say no. They say no, they drop off. They say yes, they go to an enhanced landing page, where they're, you know, you're plus one-ing them. You're getting them to go up one more step. And then, at the point they're at the, they're at the Thank You page. ***************** Share this video on social with the person you know who has a crappy website!

City Forces Businesses To Ask Competitors’ Permission Before Opening
Nobody should need their competitors’ permission to operate a business. But the government of Louisville is forcing that very requirement on local food trucks. City law bans food trucks from operating within 150 feet of every restaurant in the city that sells similar food. As a result, large swaths of Louisville have become “no-vending” zones, where food trucks are effectively banned—even on private property—unless they obtain a restaurant’s permission to operate. In other words, the Derby City is using government power to give an unfair leg up to its favorite businesses. Louisville’s 150-foot ban does only one thing: it shuts down food trucks in order to protect restaurants and other eating establishments from competition. To have any chance at vending in these restricted areas, food trucks must first get written permission slips from the very brick-and-mortar competitors the law is designed to protect. Worse still, the 150-foot ban arbitrarily treats food trucks differently based on what they sell. So while a food truck serving burgers would be banned from operating within 150 feet of a burger joint, a pizza truck could park right out front. If that weren’t enough, a restaurant can force a nearby food truck to shut down at any time by simply adding something to its menu that’s similar to whatever food the truck sells. Among the vendors caught in Louisville’s crosshairs are Troy King and Robert Martin. City inspectors forced Troy to shut down his Pollo food truck by threatening to fine him and tow the food truck away simply because he was vending within 150 feet of a restaurant selling chicken. Robert stopped bringing his Red’s Comfort Foods food truck downtown after city inspectors cited him for serving customers while within 150 feet of a restaurant serving sausages, pork, and bread. While these entrepreneurs attempt to operate their vending businesses to support themselves and their families, Louisville shuts them down for no reason other than to protect restaurants from food-truck competition. But the government cannot use its power to pick winners and losers in the marketplace. In a landmark ruling, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, which includes Kentucky, decided in Craigmiles v. Giles that protecting a discrete interest group from economic competition is not a legitimate use of government power. Under the U.S. Constitution, economic liberty—the right to earn a living free from unreasonable government interference—receives meaningful protection. This law makes absolutely no sense and it does nothing to protect health and safety. That is why on June 28, 2017, Troy and Robert filed a lawsuit against the city of Louisville in federal court to challenge the constitutionality of the 150-foot ban and vindicate their rights under the U.S. Constitution. They are represented by the Institute for Justice, whose National Street Vending Initiative vindicates the rights of street vendors nationwide. https://ij.org/case/louisville-vending/

Government Regulation: Crash Course Government and Politics #47
Today, we’re going to wrap up our discussion of economic policy by looking at government regulation. We're going to talk about the government's goals for the U.S. economy and the policies it employs to achieve those goals. Ever since the New Deal, we've seen an increased role of the government within the economy - even with the deregulation initiatives of President Carter and Reagan in the 80's. Now this is all pretty controversial and we're going to talk about it, as this is a long way from the federal government handed down by the framers of the constitution. Health Care Insurance_Obamacare
http://bit.ly/healthcare_insurance Affordable Health Insurance ObamaCare,[1] more formally known as "The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act," will impose massive penalties on young workers, small businesses and others who choose not to buy expensive health insurance, beginning in 2014. ObamaCare is the biggest handout by liberals to a single interest group -- the health insurance industry -- in American history. Even a Democrat Senator recently admitted: ObamaCare "cost Obama a lot of credibility as a leader."[2] On June 28, 2012, the Supreme Court of the United States upheld ObamaCare -- by only one vote, 5-4 -- as being within the taxing power of the federal government. In essence, the Court said to Obama: you did raise taxes, and it's called ObamaCare. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) pointed out that there are no redeeming provisions of Obama's health care plan.[3] AAPS observes that Obama's health care plan will significantly increase the overall cost of health care for a majority of United States citizens, plus reduce the quality of care that a free market system would otherwise provide.[4] ObamaCare was passed by Congress on March 21, 2010, and signed into federal law by President Barack Obama on March 23. This law furthers the process of socializing the United States health care system begun with Medicare.[5][6] The centerpiece of ObamaCare is the individual mandate, a provision that makes it mandatory for every citizen to purchase private health insurance, which is unprecedented in American history. Through legislative mandates, ObamaCare requires private citizens to purchase health insurance, involuntarily fund abortions, and pay for sex offenders to use Viagra under the threat of legal sanctions if they do not. The new law imposes penalties that will increase to 2.5% of one's income if he fails to purchase government-approved health insurance. On June 28, 2012, the Supreme Court voted 5--4 that, while Obamacare exceeded Congress's authority under the commerce clause, the law was a permissible tax under the Constitution. [7]. The constitutionality of Obamacare was originally challenged under the theory that it exceeded the limitations of the commerce clause; more than 20 federal lawsuits have been filed against ObamaCare since President Barack Obama signed it into law.[8][9] In total, 27 states have started or joined in a lawsuit against Obamacare.[10] A federal judge ruled on 13 December 2010 that a central component of ObamaCare, the requirement that most Americans carry insurance or pay a penalty, violates the Constitution. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson is quoted as saying the law "exceeds the constitutional boundaries of congressional power."[11] Then on 31 January 2011 federal judge Roger Vinson ruled that as a result of the unconstitutionality of the "individual mandate" that requires people to buy insurance, the entire law must be declared void.[12][13] The U.S. district judge declared ObamaCare unconstitutional because it violates the Commerce Clause. In a footnote attached to the ruling, federal judge Roger Vinson cited Barack Obama's position in 2008 from an interview with CNN, when Obama stated that, "If a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house."[14] The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates the invasive revenue generating device could produce as much as $36 billion over ten years.[15] The fines are euphemistically dubbed "shared responsibility payments."[16] Employers would be required to deduct the penalties from employees' paychecks.[17] The State of Massachusetts has had a similar program in place for several years, and many have elected to pay the penalties rather than purchase insurance, and many remain uninsured.[18] ObamaCare will do more than detrimentally impact healthcare accessibility. According to the Heritage Foundation, Obama is intentionally sacrificing millions of jobs, at a time when unemployment is around 10%, with the Medicare surtax without any objective exception of increases in revenues.[19] ObamaCare will cost 650,000 U.S. jobs if it is not repealed. The Congressional Budget Office says the figure would be more than 800,000 people would lose their jobs. [20]

Three Tips on How to Market a New Product One amazing feature of Facebook would it be allows its members to congregate into groups giving an opportunity to include and become accepted (along with the feature of protection by not accepting a request to be added and also the ability to block a user), become part of a specific interest group, or be a fan of an organization, something, an event, and other person. This attribute of Facebook is unique and incredibly useful a high level regular consumer who's out looking for a certain services or products or somebody that already features a business established and wants other entities of the same nature or other companies or organizations who will be potential prospects. We are confident you've got utilized the search engines, but generally folks kind within the keywords they think will deliver them the outcome they may be seeking. Usually put your ad group keywords/phrase as part of your ads for maximum effect. Doing that's merely a must-do practice anymore with AdWords because of their policies. You need to get each of the advantage you are able to, and in your keywords like which will assist you just a small bit more. So, the ads are few as you already know; to ensure that type of limits the options to headline and ad physique. If you're creating a difficult time with conversions, then truly little else matters aside from determining wrong. You are able to get creative later, until then you must truly get grounded inside the easy issues you have to do. Just overlook creativity simply because AdWords actually is not the best place for this. Your ads needs to be compelling sufficient to grab the searcher's attention as well as for that, you'll must exceed just with your creativity. Making use of keywords within your headlines is important therefore it will aid folks to seem like your ad may be what these are looking for. Steer clear of the typical wisdom sometime and appearance, and in mind you can actually usually choose the keyword whether or not this tests stronger. Individuals deliver their preferences using them whenever they search, and you'll possibly choose a split between with sufficient reason for the keyword from the headline. You can't use product or trademarked names inside a headline or ad, but there could possibly be other special words individuals seek out, we understand they certainly, understanding that bolded inside your ad might matter. Nonetheless, you completely have to be relevant along with your PPC ads for optimum outcomes. The higher your quality score, the reduced your CPC, which's what you wish. Aerial advertising would work to all types and sizes of business. All you have to do is hit the right spot at the best time. Before you fly your airplane billboard banner over any market, you should do your homework. You should find a market which possibly gets the highest number of folks who can turn into your consumers. Now, what might be the most important step for novices would be to start out which has a lower bid. I say this because one really has no idea discover how many clicks they're acquiring in any 1 day, along with the very last thing someone may want is have huge sums to fund just 1 day instead of have budgeted because of it. It's always better to enhance your bid if their keywords appear following the list plus they will not have enough clicks. On the other hand, if you advertise having a platform such as Facebook, which offers very specific targeting, you improve your chance of building a sale. Let's get back on our "fishing rod" example. When advertising with Facebook, you'd probably probably target men who include "fishing" of their interests box. That way you understand you are targeting people who enjoy fishing and not seeking information or replacement parts. You are very likely to obtain a sale with targeted advertising. #andrewlock, #andrewlockhelpmybusiness, #helpmybusinesssucks, #helpmybusiness.com, #andrewlockhelpmybusinesssucks,
5 Simple Steps To Starting A Part Time Online Business
5 Simple Steps To Starting A Part Time Online Business. 1. Choose Your Area of Interest It's important to pick a niche or industry that you like or that you know something about. It's much simpler to work on something that you like and find interesting rather than something that has no interest to you in any way. 2. Pick Products To Suit Your Market You can build a part-time home business on the internet without producing your products or services. This is called affiliate marketing and it's essentially like being a commission based sales person. Your task is to sell other people's products and services and when you do, the product owner will pay you a commission. There is no need to buy any stock, deal with any payment systems or arrange delivery as the product owner will do all of this. 3. Create A Website There are various programs that make it easy for complete beginners to get a website online. You don't have to be a computer developer and by following a step-by-step procedure you can have your own website on the internet very quickly. 4. Get People To Visit Your Website Once your website is online with your products or services ready to sell, you need to get potential customers to check out your website. There are two key methods to generate website traffic. There are free website traffic strategies and paid website traffic strategies. MIT develops inventory control drone system

"In 2016, the U.S. National Retail Federation reported that shrinkage loss of items in retail stores averaged around $45.2 billion annually. By enabling drones to find and localize items and equipment, this research will provide a fundamental technological advancement for solving these problems," Fadel Adib, the Sony Corporation Career Development Assistant Professor of Media Arts and Sciences, whose group at the MIT Media Lab developed the new system said in a press release. The researchers have fitted each drone with a RFID tag. The drone alternates between relaying the reader's signal to a tagged item and its own signal back to the reader, allowing the reader to identify the item's location. It is said to be able to localize the tagged items accurately within 19 cm, while extending the range of the reader tenfold in all directions. The system is dubbed RFly, which will be presented in a paper at the annual conference of the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Data Communications. It will be put through a second phase of trials with a retailer in Massachusetts. RUNDOWN SHOWS: 1. Drone with RFID tag 2. Drone relays information from tagged item to reader 3.
