English Books that Will Help You Reach a High Level of English Fast!

03:49
English books that will help you reach a high levle of English - https://www.tofluency.com/5-step-plan/ ← Click here to download your free guide. One of the most common question I get asked is... "What books will help me reach a high level of English?" In this new video, I talk about the types of books you should be reading and why. Watch in HD! ----------- TRANSCRIPT Hello, this is Jack from tofluency.com and in this video we're going to talk about books, and more specifically, what books are going to help you reach a high level of English, so keep watching! As an English learner, there are so many books that you can buy and read to help you with your English. Now firstly, there are the type of books that are specifically made for English learners. This is, for example, grammar books, course books, text books and books have been adapted for your specific level. And then, obviously, they're also books that haven't been made, specifically, for English learners; books on a whole range of topics: fiction and also non-fiction. Now, I receive a lot of questions from English learners, and one of the main questions I receive: is: What books should I buy to help me on my journey to English fluency? Now, I can not recommend a specific book in this general sense because a book that's going to be good for you and that's going to help you on your journey might not be suitable for someone else. This is because we all have different interests and also we have different levels of English. The key is finding a book that you can understand; a book that isn't too difficult for you and your level right now and also finding a book that is going to really interest you; a book that you just can't put down. Now, as you progress with your English and if you are an immediate learner now, I recommend that you find more native materials.Find books at have not been written specifically for English learners; find books that are native - books that have just been written in different genres. And remember: Choose a book that is going to interest; find books on topics that you find interesting. This might be novels, non-fiction like history, sports or politics or maybe magazines and blogs. Additionally, if you can find the audio for the book, as well, then I really recommend that you do this. If you find books that come along with the audio it means you can listen and read at the same time, you can read a book and then listen later. Or maybe you just listen to the book. But having the audio is really gonna help you improve your English. One last tip: the mentality of choosing books is really important, and what I recommend, like I've said throughout this video, is that you find books that you want to read. Don't read books that you feel you have to read instead, read the books that you think, "Yes, I really want to read this book and I know I'm going to enjoy it." And if you don't enjoy the book don't feel like you have to read it - put it down and choose a different book instead. Here is a question for you: I want you to leave your answer below this video: What is your favorite book that you have read in English? What is your favorite book that you have read in English? Leave your answers below.. thanks for watching, and I'll see you next time! ----- Please share this video if you found it useful. Thanks. Learn Arabic - [Lesson 1] Arabic Grammar for Understanding the Quran

32:52
This is lesson #1 in the series "Arabic Grammar for Understanding the Quran". In this lesson, we will cover: 1. The four "traits" of the ism: definiteness, gender, number, and case, 2. The adjective (sifah). 3. The three types of plural (jam'): broken, masculine sound, feminine sound. Some useful resources for learning Quranic Arabic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Be7gvuBFvh8 Please remember to subscribe to this channel! ~~~ Learn Arabic - Arabic Grammar for Understanding the Quran Knowledge of Arabic grammar is both a core prerequisite and an invaluable asset for the serious student of knowledge. Unfortunately, for the majority of Muslims living the West today, obtaining a working knowledge of Arabic grammar seems virtually impossible. The greatest barrier between us and a mastery of Arabic grammar is the widespread notion that Arabic grammar is irresolvably complex, that it is too detailed, too vast, and too technical. We believe that learning Arabic grammar takes way too long to do, that we will burn out long before we begin reaping its fruits. We further believe Arabic grammar is "all or nothing"--that it's useless unless we learn ALL of it. And it's impossible to learn ALL of it. So we don't bother to start; we decide it's not worth learning ANY of it. These notions are self-imposed psychological shackles OR unpleasant encounters we've had when we tried to learn Arabic before OR the whispers of the sneaky one, Shaytaan (or all of the above). But at the end of the day, our reality is one: we have deprived ourselves of the key for unlocking a deeper, more intimate relationship with the Quran (and Sunnah) and thus, denied ourselves the opportunity of tasting the full sweetness of divine knowledge. As for the misconceptions: (1) Arabic grammar is indeed "complex", but let's be real: everything about the human existence is complex. Life is complex. Think about driving a car and our daily responses to an infinite number of possible occurrences on the road. Because we are so FAMILIAR with driving, much of the required thinking is automated or "reflexive". Complexity is not synonymous with difficulty. Why can't Arabic grammar come as naturally as driving does? It can. We have all earned degrees in engineering, medicine, literature, history, education, accounting, etc. If we can master these complex subjects, why can't we learn Arabic grammar? We can. (2) Like any discipline, the study of Arabic grammar can be a lifelong pursuit, but there's no rule saying, "Once you start to learn Arabic, you cannot stop until you've mastered it". You don't need to be a grammarian to possess a working, intermediate-level understanding of Arabic grammar. We also forget that the fruits of Arabic grammar can be reaped IMMEDIATELY, from day #1, lesson #1. (3) Arabic grammar is NOT "all or nothing". Like mentioned above, even knowledge of a few simple, isolated rules will permanently strengthen our relationship with the Quran. Aware of the above concerns, I made this video series (Arabic Grammar for Understanding the Quran) for anyone who wants to learn Arabic. The following are my objectives: (1) Presenting a "complex" subject in a simple, intuitive way. My goal is to maintain clarity both in the descriptions and in the visuals used. (2) Shrinking 2.5 years of Arabic grammar content into 20 short videos, each lasting between 30-45 minutes (for a grand total of no more than 15 hours), insha'Allah. This requires a massive condensing of material as well as an omission of a few concepts. (3) Demonstrating the relevance of grammar and the real-life application of grammar rules ("theory") to understanding the Quran ("practice"). Thus, every single lesson will feature step-by-step grammatical analyses of Quranic verses. Please subscribe to my channel, and provide me with feedback for this project, insha'Allah. I pray that Allah SWT accepts our intentions and efforts. Ameen.

Atomic Structure: Protons, Electrons & Neutrons

13:31
This is atomic structure tutorial video on protons, electrons, and neutrons. Follow us at https://www.facebook.com/AtomicSchool, https://www.instagram.com/AtomicSchools/ and https://twitter.com/atomicschools. About Atomic School: Atomic School supports the teaching of Atomic Theory to primary school & science students . We provide lesson plans, hands-on classroom resources, demonstration equipment, quizzes and a Teacher's Manual to primary school teachers. Animated videos that clearly explain the scientific ideas supports learning by both teachers and students. As a teacher, you don't have to look anywhere else to implement this program. Our work has been verified by science education researchers at the University of Southern Queensland, Dr Jenny Donovan and Dr Carole Haeusler, who confirm that primary students are capable of learning much more complex scientific concepts than previously thought, and crucially, that they love it. Students run to class! The program has been trialed in Australian schools as well as schools in the Philippines, Iran and India. It is conducted as holiday workshops at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, the Queensland Museum as well as the World Science Festival. It has attracted wide media interest, including TV, radio and print, and the research data has been presented at prestigious American Education Research Association and Australian Science Education Research Association conferences. Atomic Theory underlies all the other sciences- genetics, electronics, nanotechnology, engineering and astronomy- so an early understanding will set them up for a more successful learning sequence for all their science subjects, and support their mastery of mathematics as well. We also have extension programs that cover Biology, Physics and Astronomy to an equal depth. About Ian Stuart (Email: [email protected]): The founder of Atomic School, Ian Stuart, taught Chemistry and Physics for 25 years at senior levels before he realized that his 8-year old son, Tom, could understand Atomic Theory at a much deeper level than he expected. After visiting Tom's class at school, he discovered that his peers could also grasp the abstract scientific concepts, as well as apply it usefully to the real world. Ian then developed a program to teach the advanced concepts of high school Chemistry, Physics and Biology to students 10 years younger than they normally would. He found that this engaged their interest in modern science early, and sustained it through to high school and beyond. It also sets them up for future success in their academic and career paths. Ian has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Queensland and a Master's degree in Electrochemistry from the University of Melbourne. Learn English with Emma: vocabulary, culture, and the first conditional!

24:19
I will use one topic to teach you important English grammar (the first conditional), as well as vocabulary. You'll also learn a lot about North American culture. I'll teach you all this stuff by talking about superstitions. Is the number 13 bad luck in your culture? If you break a mirror, will you have bad luck? If you find a penny on the ground, do you think you will have a good day? Every culture has beliefs about luck. We call these beliefs superstitions. Some superstitions are common around the world, but many are very specific to a particular country or culture. My mom is really superstitious, so I grew up with a lot of these beliefs. In this video, I'll give you some examples of common North American superstitions, and in the second half of the video, I'll use this topic to teach you how to use the first conditional in English. Watch this video now. If you don't, your computer might get a virus. Take the quiz! https://www.engvid.com/learn-english-superstitions-first-conditional/ TRANSCRIPT Hello. My name is Emma, and in today's video we are going to be talking about three different things. Okay? So, we are going to be learning some new vocabulary that have to do with superstition, and I'll explain what superstitions are; we're going to be learning about culture, and Western culture, and North American culture; as well as grammar, today we are going to be learning about the first conditional. So this is a great video because you are going to be learning a lot by the end of it, hopefully. So, let's get started. First I want to tell you about superstitions. I love the topic of superstitions; I think it's very interesting. So, what a superstition is, is it is a belief, and this belief, it's usually cultural, but it can also be personal. Okay? And this belief is not based in science, so it's not scientific. Oftentimes when we're talking about superstitions we're talking about supernatural things, we're talking about good luck, bad luck, curses, you know, we're talking about things maybe from our culture's history and a different way of seeing the world. So if you're confused about superstitions, don't worry, when I give you examples you will start to really understand what a superstition is. Okay, so let's start off with an example. Imagine this: I took a test and I did really well. I got a very high score on my test. Now, why did I get a high score? Maybe you think: "Oh, you probably studied well." Okay? So that might be kind of a scientific explanation. "Oh, Emma studied, so she did well on her test." Well, maybe I brought a pen to the test and it's a very lucky pen or a very lucky pencil, and I think anytime I use this pen or pencil I'm going to do well. It's my lucky charm, it's my lucky pen or pencil. If you think I did well on my test because I have a lucky pen, then that would be an example of a superstition. It's like a ritual you do to get good luck or to keep bad luck from happening, and it's a belief about these types of things. Okay? So, if for example, I say: "I did great on my test because I brought a lucky pen to class.", "I did really well on my test because it was, you know, at 7pm and 7 is a lucky number so therefore, you know, 7pm means I'm going to do well on my test. And I wore green, and green's a lucky colour, so all these reasons helped me on my test", you would say I'm superstitious. Okay? So, "superstition" is a belief, it's a cultural belief that explains something in the world, but not based in science. A person is "superstitious". We use "superstitious" to describe people. My mother is the most superstitious person I know. She is very superstitious. In our house there are many superstitions. Okay? And that's true. I grew up in a very superstitious household. So let's look at some Western superstitions I grew up with. These are the ones that were in my own experience and my own culture. So, one example of a superstition is if you walk under a ladder, this is very bad luck. Okay? So when I walk down the street, if I see a ladder, I never walk under it because I'm also very superstitious. If you find a penny, so a penny is a type of... It's a type of currency or a type of... It's a form of money, it's a coin, and if you find a penny... If I ever find a penny, I always pick it up. Okay? I pick it up off the ground because I think the penny will give me good luck. Okay? A little crazy, I know, but a lot of people in North America do this. 13 is considered a very unlucky number. In Western culture you'll notice a lot of apartment buildings do not have a 13th floor, and that's because people think it's so... They think it's very unlucky, so they don't want to live on the 13th floor because they think they will, you know, have bad luck. I know in China the number 4 is very unlucky, and so it's the same thing. In China you don't see... In apartment buildings you usually don't see a 4th floor because it's very unlucky. Okay, so we've talked about some good luck and some bad luck.
