UK gas trading market 'manipulated'

Subscribe to our channel http://bit.ly/AJSubscribe While most countries set the price of gas around the price of oil, Britain decided that an unregulated gas trading market was a better idea. UK Publishes No Deal Brexit Papers

Reuters reports that Britain does not expect gas trading with Europe to change significantly in the event of a “no deal” Brexit. But the country's government warned on Friday that operators of electricity power links would need to set up alternative trading arrangements. Britain imports around 50 percent of its gas from Norway and continental Europe. It imports around 6 percent of its electricity via power links with France, the Netherlands and Ireland. http://feeds.reuters.com/~r/reuters/topNews/~3/RMK83bH3NhE/uk-publishes-no-deal-brexit-papers-for-energy-market-idUSKCN1MM1L6 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

UK Natural Gas Investment

00:57
Objective: Investing in physical natural gas and storage provides investors with exposure to increasing demand in the wholesale gas market and limited storage capacity throughout the U.K. Domestic and wholesale gas prices have notably increased in the past decade and the U.K. energy regulator, Ofgem, anticipates further increases before 2020due to a squeeze in energy sources for power generation. PRICE : Natural gas sold at spot price with defined storage and commission costs. Why U.K. Natural Gas? • UK demand set to outstrip supply • Low correlation with traditional assets • Inflation hedge • Liquid investment • Well-established global market

The Increasing Importance of the Oil Trading Companies

47:38
Daniel Jaeggi, President & Co-Founder, Mercuria Ian Taylor, President & Chief Executive Officer, Vitol Group of Companies Torbjörn Törnqvist, Chief Executive Officer, Gunvor Moderator: Marcel van Poecke - Chairman, AtlasInvest In the oil price downturn of the last two years, the major oil trading houses have shown a remarkable ability to adapt and do quite well in an environment that has been extremely challenging for others in the oil business. In addition, with the retreat of most banks from physical commodity trading following the financial crisis, the importance and influence of these trading houses has increased significantly, along with their trading volumes. In this session of the Oil & Money 2016 conference, the heads of three of the largest oil trading companies explain their approach and elucidate how oil trading is changing and where oil markets are headed. Questions that will be addressed include: • What is the explanation for the recent remarkable success of oil trading? • How does the future competitive environment look? • What is the outlook for oil prices and market rebalancing? • Is Opec or Saudi Arabia likely to return to the role of managing oil markets? • How is financial regulation impacting the oil trading world? • What are the biggest risks and wildcards facing your companies?

Oil and Gas Company Buys UK-Based Natural Gas Specialist

03:03
Dan Dicker, Energy contributor at TheStreet, talks with Jim Cramer about the blockbuster $70B deal between Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A) and BG Group. Shell has been targeting this UK-based natural gas specialist for several years and is taking the opportunity of lower natural gas and oil prices to buy out the distressed company. Synergies, particularly in Australia make this a decent deal for Shell, but insures that someone like Exxon-Mobil (XOM) won't likely 'come over the top' and try to outbid Shell. When Exxon makes their own move for cheap assets, Dicker believes it will likely be in the U.S. shale space. Green Gas New Tariffs to Boost UK AD Biogas Industry

02:54
Green Gas UK Government Commences Payment of New Tariffs to Boost UK AD Biogas Industry Go to: https://anaerobic-digestion.com/adbagg For videos go to: https://ippts.info/ The UK’s green gas industry has described the restoring of higher tariff levels for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) as a ‘vital boost’ to the UK’s ability to produce renewable green gas for heating homes and businesses through anaerobic digestion (AD). Following the passing of the relevant legilslation through Parliament, from 22nd May AD plant operators will be able to claim a restored tariff of 5.6p per kWh of renewable heat generated for their Tier 1 biomethane (the first 40,000 MWh they inject into the grid per year), and once their plant is commissioned they will receive a guaranteed tariff level for twenty years. AD plants generate biomethane, or ‘green gas’, through breaking down organic wastes such as sewage, food waste, and agricultural waste and purpose-grown energy crops, which are often grown as part of an agricultural rotation. Gazprom in talks to ramp up natural gas sales in UK as Rough closes

03:37
#oilwire - Gazprom PJSC is in talks to ramp up natural gas sales in the UK as coal plants are shuttered and the nation’s biggest storage site is closed for good. “We see an appetite from major players in the UK for additional volume of contracted gas,” Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said in an interview in Prague on Thursday, declining to provide further details on negotiations. “Our supplies to the UK increased substantially in the course of the last two years.” The world’s biggest gas producer sees an opportunity to sell more of the fuel after Centrica Plc announced it would close its Rough storage facility in the North Sea and the nation plans to stop using coal-fired plants by the middle of next decade. Medvedev expects Britain to increase imported volumes by 8 billion to 12 billion cubic meters a year by 2025.

Trading and Hedging with Energy Put and Call Options - Tutorial #1

13:09
This tutorial introduces the concept of options (puts, calls as well as Real Options) as they are applied in energy businesses, i.e. crude oil, natural gas, power, coal, liquids, etc. Options in the energy sector can be found not just in trading rooms, but in physical assets (generators, pipelines, etc. "real options") and supply contracts. This tutorial approaches optionality from this unique and broader vantage.

Robin Hood Energy confirm trading surplus

01:38
We have some brilliant news to share with you! We have made an operating surplus in our third year of trading. Our accounts, submitted to Companies House, have been independently audited to verify a trading surplus of £202,000. Within 3 years of trading, we have acquired over 115,000 customers and have recently been independently valued at around £30million – well in excess of the Council’s original investment. Set up with the aim of tackling fuel poverty, we will use their strengthened trading position to help those most vulnerable and ensure Nottingham residents benefit from our best rates. To fulfil these ambitions we will: • Voluntarily enter arrangements to offer the Warm Home Discount. This discount for older people, and those on low incomes, is only mandatory for energy companies to offer once they reach a customer base 250,000. • Protect tariff rates for Nottingham City prepayment customers. People on prepayment tariffs are often the most likely to experience fuel poverty. • Go Green – Robin Hood Energy will be switching all of their electricity to be supplied from renewable sources certified as being provided by UK based Wind and Solar projects. Cllr Steve Battlemuch, Chairman of Robin Hood Energy, said: “We are pleased to have officially made an operating surplus within 3 years of trading. It’s a big achievement given that most energy companies take at least 5 years to get to this stage. “As the first publicly-owned, not-for-profit energy company, we will use our strengthened position to support vulnerable people, tackle fuel poverty and help protect the planet. We’ll do this by offering the Warm Home Discount, protecting prices for Nottingham prepayment customers and switching our electricity to go green. “I genuinely believe Robin Hood Energy is proof that a new generation of ethical, publicly owned companies can offer an alternative to the Big Six – together we can revolutionise the energy market!”

Gas And Currency Deals Cap Chinese Premier's First UK Visit

00:43
Britain and China signed deals on Tuesday worth more than 14 billion pounds during a visit by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, with energy and finance dominating the trade agenda. In a trip aimed at deepening commercial ties between the world's second-largest economy and Europe's financial capital and drawing a line under a row over Tibet, Li met Queen Elizabeth and held talks with Prime Minister David Cameron. Cameron said the rise of China was "one of the defining events of our century" and that Britain wanted to strengthen ties on every level, from business to cultural understanding. http://feeds.reuters.com/~r/Reuters/worldNews/~3/WGzEUoAQ43M/story01.htm http://www.wochit.com

Why do Gas Prices Rise and Fall? What direction are Gas Prices Heading?

What direction are Gas Prices Heading? What are the reasons why gas prices rise and fall? PLEASE: Support us Like this video if you found it useful. Gaurav Sharma, oil market specialist and editor of IB Times UK comments. Where do you see gas prices going in 10 years. I think we will see a lot of gas price convergence. A lot of these shale players want to compete with the likes of Qatar and Australia and send their gas overseas to Europe. Asia will lead the way as far as gas is concerned. I think the Henry Hub Natural Gas Spot Price benchmark will become a global benchmark for gas prices in future.

'Shale gas won't lead to a collapse in UK gas prices' says Pöyry

06:00
Richard Sarsfield-Hall, Senior Principal at Pöyry Management Consulting, told Proactiveinvestors that shale gas development in the UK won't lead to a collapse in gas prices. This is because, unlike America, which has become nearly self-sufficient for gas, Britain is connected to the worldwide gas market via liquefied natural gas and via pipelines to Europe and Russia, and those prices will be not be directly affected in the same way, he argued. Shale gas would, at the most, cover 25% of what is needed in the UK, he stressed.
Post election effect on Oil in the UK

Post election effect on Oil in the UK with Gaurav Sharma an Independent Oil Analyst with Sharecast/Digital Look. While a Conservative majority is good for markets, those spread betting or trading on energy stocks should not overplay the significance of the result in their thinking. Oil & gas stocks rose on Fri, but their rise was nowhere near that of other sectors purely as most oil abd gas stocks are UK listed, but not UK focussed. UK set up for global gas as Rough Gas Storage facility shuts down

04:22
oilwire - Already buffeted by political chaos at home and abroad, the UK gas market must now operate without its biggest stabilizing force: the giant Rough gas storage facility under the North Sea. The planned permanent shutdown of the Centrica Plc site, able to meet 10% of peak demand in winter, means Britain is becoming even more reliant on imports of LNG or pipeline fuel from Russia and Norway. That sets up the possibility that traders would have to outbid Japan, the world’s biggest LNG buyer, and others to keep millions of homes warm. Political uncertainty is making the supply game even riskier, with rules for international gas pipelines clouded in mystery as the UK negotiates an exit from the European Union. And the diplomatic crisis this month involving Qatar, the nation’s largest LNG supplier, caused gas prices in Britain to jump the most since January as two tankers were diverted.
