Warren Buffett - How Anyone can Invest and Become Rich

05:40
Website: https://primedlifestyle.com/ Instagram: Primed Berkshire Hathaway Annual report: http://www.berkshirehathaway.com/letters/2013ltr.pdf Warren Buffett's favorite book -The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2AlojQc Tony Robbins Money Master the Game on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2zyz84n Audible 30 day free trail: https://goo.gl/x64Vb9 Warren Buffett - One of the most successful investor of all times with an estimated net worth of over 80 billion dollars to this date has shared his methods for investing. Having bought his first stock at 11 years of age and having $53,000 dollars to his name at 17, he sure knows a thing or two about this market. And even though he spent a lifetime developing his skills, he’s has shared some very straightforward advice about investing that anyone can take advantage of. Warren Buffett’s first rule is to simply think long term over short term. He might be going overboard with this concept and he is truly embracing it around his entire life. He still lives in the same house he bought in 1958 and is also working at the very same desk since 50 years back and doesn’t use a computer but traditional pen and paper. He’s been quoted saying he doesn’t throw anything away until he’s had it for at least 20-25 years. So thinking long term is natural for him and the ability to resist selling has proved to be very successful for him. So having that said the reason why he’s holding on to what he buys is because he does his homework and does so very well. He’s stated many times that he spends 80 % of his day reading and catching up with the latest news and what companies to invest in. He thinks about life and investing as learning as much as he can and reads between 600-1,000 pages every single day. However not many people have the time or money to read for 8 hours a day and invest a few billions in the biggest companies like Warren Buffet, and it’s not a strategy that anyone can apply and find success with. And I wanted to make a video explaining how absolutely anyone can invest and become rich without taking time to read and grasp what to invest in which is why I’m super excited to share this with you. So when reading the Berkshire Hathaway Annual report of 2013, one of the most interesting paragraphs I found was on page 20 where he gave a very simple and straightforward advice about investing. He says “My money is where my mouth is: What I advise here is essentially identical to certain instructions I’ve laid out in my will. So in his will he’s demanded that future of his family's money money should be invested such as this: Put 10% of the cash in short-term government bonds and 90% in a very low-cost S&P 500 index fund.” And he finishes it off by stating “I believe the trust’s long-term results from this policy will be superior to those attained by most investors” I told you it was straight forward. Don’t try to outplay the market but instead play with it. No man or machine can predict the ups and downs of the market, well except for Warren Buffett, so it would be foolish to try to beat it when you can simply join it. The very same formula was also mentioned in Tony Robbins book money master the game and index funds really seems to be the future of investments because the market will always rise in long term, and that’s essentially what you invest in - the market. The S&P 500 contains all the 500 largest companies that trade on NYSE and Nasdaq. Instead of picking stocks individually, you can now own a piece of all of the biggest companies such as Apple, Microsoft and Google. And investing in an index fund is very secure since a single company might go bankrupt, however the market will not. And you don’t have to stick to only the U.S market but could invest in the european and asian markets that’s also doing very well and you can even invest in global index funds to own a part of the biggest companies in the world. And for the other 10 %, the short-term government bonds is a very low risk low cost alternative that is also offered by vanguard amongst others. Short-term bonds are very attractive to investors because of they’re very stable and consistently rising, however the return tends to be smaller. And I’ll finish it off through Warren Buffett’s words: “The goal of the non-professional should not be to pick winners but should rather be to own a cross-section of businesses that in aggregate are bound to do well.” Music: Life of Riley by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1400054 Artist: http://incompetech.com/

OK, we get it. Investing can be risky. One way to manage that risk is to educate yourself on basic concepts, like asset allocation and diversification. Asset Allocation is simply financial lingo for how you distribute your money across types of investments. It’s like the strategic decision of which baskets to put your eggs in and how many eggs to put into each. The different baskets are called asset classes. To help you decide where to put your eggs, ask yourself three questions: 1. How much time do you have before you need to use your money? 2. How comfortable are you with risk? 3. How does your current financial situation look? Diversification is about strategically putting the right mix of different eggs in each of your baskets. The key is that you shouldn’t invest all your money in one company, one industry, one country, one ANYTHING. Ideally, you want your investments to be negatively correlated, so when one is going down, another is going up. Here are some typical ways smart investors diversify their portfolio: • Invest in companies in different countries • Own stock in small AND large companies • Invest in companies in a variety of industries There are some downsides to diversification. If one of your investments does very well, you won’t make as much as if it was your only investment. But consider the inverse: if you owned only one stock, and the company went out of business, you would lose more money than if you had spread your money across different investments. Diversification won’t eliminate risk. But it's a smart way to manage risk while still giving you a chance to build your portfolio. How to Invest in Business

07:41
If you’re already in the habit of saving and investing regularly, the next way to accelerate your net worth is by having your own business. Businesses don’t have to be hugely complicated and don’t always required large amounts of cash up front. The number one thing you’ll need, at least in the beginning, is time. And time is a hugely important thing to think about before choosing a business direction. Ask yourself how much time you’re prepared to give to your business, both at the beginning when you’re setting it up and on a day to day basis to make it a success. If you already lead a busy life and aren’t prepared to sacrifice your other commitments, the best option would be to invest as a silent partner in someone else’s early stage business or use one of the many platforms like Crowdcube.com to find a start-up which offers good potential. The problem with investing in someone else’s business though, is that you’re not in control and you’ll only ever receive a small percentage of the profits that a business makes. If it turns out your business partners are more Del and Rodney than Jobs and Wozniak, you could find yourself relying on the lottery to become a millionaire. A much better option is to have your own business and an easy way to start that is through platforms likes eBay, Amazon or even Etsy. Dropshipping companies have made becoming an online retailer easier than ever. They offer a wide range of stock for you to sell and they manage the shipping and returns of any items. All you have to do is research which items you want to sell, decide how much you’re going to mark them up and load them into your online store. Unlike a traditional shop, there’s no big upfront costs for storage space or for the stock itself so you can be up and running with a minimal amount of investment in no time at all. The top performing eBay shop in the UK last year pulled in monthly sales of nearly one and a half million pounds. That’s just shy of eighteen million pounds in one year alone without even having to change out of your pyjamas. But if the idea of spending your days uploading stock photos on to eBay in your nightwear doesn’t appeal to you and you have a bit more to invest up front, there are other options. One of these is to buy the rights to sell a product from one country in another. Let’s say you’re on holiday in the US and you come across a particularly good product or an emerging trend that you think there’s a market for elsewhere. Do your research and see if it’s possible to buy the selling rights to the UK or wherever you think you can make it work as a viable business. Keep in mind though, a product being successful in one country doesn’t guarantee its success in another. Don’t let your holiday mindset cloud your judgement. The last thing you want is to wake up the day after your holiday with a bedroom full of Uncle Sam figurines. If you’re not lucky enough to come across a “killer” product on your travels – you can always look at international franchise opportunities on the web. I spoke to a guy recently who acquired the UK rights to an American basement waterproofing product and he’s already turning over more than £2 million at high margins. And all because he sat on the committee of his local golf club and was asked to find a solution to the damp leaking into their basement! Buying the rights to sell a product in another country might not guarantee its success but it does provide you with a strong grounding to launch your business with a support network from the parent company to help it grow. But if you don’t want to set up a business from scratch, even with someone else’s product, you can always buy an existing business. Distressed businesses, where the owners have either lost interest or don’t have the creativity or mindset to make it work, can be relatively inexpensive. Typically, owners of distressed business will be desperate to offload them and that puts you in a winning position when it comes to agreeing a purchase price. This is a more advanced strategy but it’s how I started with what is now the Elite Investor Club. Strong sales and marketing skills are the most important asset when it comes to turning a business around and if you want to truly scale your business, purchasing multiple businesses with similar or complimentary lines and centralising the back office and overheads is the way to go. Investing in business of any type requires real commitment. It’s not just your money you’ll be putting on the table, but time, talent and energy. It’s not for everyone, but if you’ve got what it takes there’s no better route to real wealth that I know of. If you think you can remain a wage slave and achieve life changing financial success, be very careful out there.

Private equity refers to company ownership by a specialized investment firm. Typically, a private equity firm will establish a fund and use it to buy multiple businesses, with the goal of selling each one within a few years at a profit. Private equity firms will often target an underperforming business and, after purchasing the company, use their management expertise to improve profitability.

What is The SAFE Investment Company?

01:54
SAFE Investment Company Limited is a sovereign wealth fund of government of China. The firm primarily makes its investments into securities, currencies and commodities markets. SAFE Investment Company Limited was formed on 1997 and is based in Central, Hong Kong. SAFE, the central bank body charged with managing China's US$3.4 trillion pile of foreign currency reserves. Now it is looking to spice up its US portfolio with the addition of stocks, private equity, real estate and other high-octane asset classes. Attempts to diversify China's foreign reserves away from US Treasuries are nothing new. As long ago as 1997 the central bank set up the SAFE Investment Company, or SIC, with an office in Hong Kong and US$20 billion to invest. But in recent years SAFE has stepped up its diversification program, partly in response to the establishment in 2007 of the rival China Investment Corporation. SAFE's existence and role were initially closely guarded secrets, its subsidiaries were minor, but the funds under management have increased significantly in recent years. They were responsible for running SAFE's portfolio across the various time zones, replicating the investments of head office in Beijing. SAFE created and controlled the Central Huijin Investment Company, but in September 2007, it ceded control to the newly formed sovereign wealth fund, China Investment Corporation. With the burgeoning of China's reserves and amidst increasing rivalry between state agencies, there are signs of growing independence of and competition between the subsidiaries By Barry Norman, Investors Trading Academy

Fundamental Analysis of a Company - For a better and informed Decision to Invest in Equity

06:43
Fundamental Analysis is important before investing in a Company/ Stock. It helps the person to make an informed decision whether to invest or not. It is not only the study of the Company and its fundamentals, but also analysis of the environment in which the Company operates viz. the industry, the domestic economy and the global economy which are equally important . External factors impacting the Company, such as global recession, political turmoil, natural calamities etc. though not restricted to just one Company, are to be kept in mind while evaluating the decision to invest. ☞ Subscribe to our Channel: https://goo.gl/YqDpAu ☞ Like us on Facebook: https://goo.gl/QOJGSB ☞ Follow us on Twitter: https://goo.gl/xEJeXw ☞ Circle us on G+ https://goo.gl/zIDGA9
Asset Management: Industry Overview and Careers in Asset Management

04:45
Asset Management: Industry overview and Careers in Asset Management Asset Management is about managing clients’ investments and providing them with the strategies and expertise that would allow them to achieve their goals and secure their financial future. This video is part of our series dedicated to the different sub-industries in the world of Business & Finance. Our goal is to understand how it functions, what type of services it offers its clients, which are the major players in the field and what it is like to do this for a living. An individual or an institution is likely to approach an asset management firm when their investment income is substantial. In such cases, asset managers are able to offer expertise across a wide spectrum of asset classes (such as stocks, bonds, commodities, real estate, private equity, etc). Moreover, large firms have branches all over the world and are therefore able to offer geographical expertise as well. Given that asset managers closely follow all of these markets, they are able to offer high-quality advice and superior risk-return investments. The large players in the asset management industry are indeed very large. There are several companies whose assets under management exceed $1 trillion. Some of them are pure investment funds (BlackRock, Vanguard, StateStreet, Fidelity), while others are arms of the large banking conglomerates (Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, UBS, BNP). The largest firm in the world in terms of assets under management in 2015 was BlackRock. 10. Review: Private Equity, Direct Investing, Fund Investing, Co-investing and Secondary Investing

03:50
Review: Private Equity, Direct Investing, Fund Investing, Co-investing and Secondary Investing Investors can invest in private equity in four different ways: Directly, funds, co-investments and secondaries. Direct investing is when an investor directly invests in private companies. It could be buying the entire company or a minority investment. Fund investing is when an investor goes to a private equity fund and the private equity fund buys companies on the investor’s behalf. Co-investing is the most complicated option. For example, an investor invests $50 million in a private equity fund with co-investment rights, meaning that when the fund looks for opportunities it can allow the investor to participate not only through the fund, but directly as well. An example of this would be when a fund is looking at investment in a $40 million company. That investment needs $30 million equity and $10 million in debt. The equity portion given by the fund (without co-investing) would be $30 million dollars. In the case of co-investing, the fund gives $20 million (in which the investor is participating through the fund) with the remaining $10 million (i.e. The difference between the $20 million in equity given by the fund and the $30 million equity needed) is offered to the investor to do on a direct basis resulting in the fund investing $20 million and the investor investing $10 million. When investors invest into a fund, they pay full fees, typically paying a 2% management fee and a 20% performance fee (i.e. “two and twenty”). By investing $10 million directly, other than a small deal origination fee, investors are able to reduce their overall fees. (For more on fees see Video #4). The fourth way to invest in private equity is through secondaries. In this example our investor makes a commitment to invest $50 million in a private equity fund by giving about $10 to $20 million dollars to the private equity fund up front for the first two fund investments. As more acquisitions are made, the private equity fund makes capital calls to the investor. The investor is usually locked into the private equity fund for seven to ten years (or longer). If the investor wants out of this agreement, the commitment can be sold to other investors. The sale can be of the entire commitment (which would include the existing deals that the private equity fund was already made, plus future capital calls) or it can be done through a structured secondary (selling different parts) where the investor may want to keep the existing investments and just sell the future commitments. As easy as an investor can sell a secondary, it can buy one as well.

Peter Lynch (born January 19, 1944) is an American investor, mutual fund manager, and philanthropist. As the manager of the Magellan Fund at Fidelity Investments between 1977 and 1990, Lynch averaged a 29.2% annual return, consistently more than doubling the S&P 500 market index and making it the best performing mutual fund in the world. During his tenure, assets under management increased from $18 million to $14 billion. He also co-authored a number of books and papers on investing and coined a number of well known mantras of modern individual investing strategies, such as Invest in what you know and ten bagger. Lynch is consistently described as a "legend" by the financial media for his performance record, and was called "legendary" by Jason Zweig in his 2003 update of Benjamin Graham's book, The Intelligent Investor. According to a 2006 Boston Magazine article, Lynch has an overall net worth of $352 million USD. Though he continues to work part-time as vice chairman of Fidelity Management & Research Co., the investment adviser arm of Fidelity Investments, spending most of his time mentoring young analysts, Peter Lynch focuses a great deal of time on philanthropy. He said he views philanthropy as a form of investment. He said he prefers to give money to support ideas that he thinks can spread, such as First Night, the New Year's Eve festival that began in Boston in 1976 and has inspired similar events in more than 200 other communities, and City Year, a community service program founded in Boston in 1988 that now operates in 14 locations. The Lynches give money primarily in five ways: as individuals, through the Lynch Foundation, through a Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund, and through two charitable trusts. The Lynches have made gifts as individuals, donating $10 million to Peter Lynch's alma mater, Boston College, naming the School of Education after the family. The Lynch Foundation, valued at $125 million, gave away $8 million in 2013 and has made $80 million in grants since its inception. The Foundation supports education, religious organizations, cultural and historic organizations, and hospitals and medical research. Lynch was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 1991. Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Lynch

What is an OEIC (Open Ended Investment Company) ?

01:46
Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy talking glossary of financial terms and events. Our word of the day is “Open Ended Investment Company (OEIC)” Primarily in the United Kingdom, a mutual fund in which the number of shares may be increased or decreased depending on the amount of money invested in the company. This means that the fund's capitalization is not fixed, and changes upon the demand of shareholders. In other words, an open-end investment company issues new stock when people invest in it, and buys back old shares when investors want to be rid of them. The latter is referred to as redeeming one's share of the mutual fund. The value of each share is the net portfolio value divided by the number of shares. In the United States, this investment vehicle is usually called an open-end mutual fund. The company pools money it raises by selling shares in a fund and the fund's manager invests in stock, bonds, money market instruments, or a combination of these asset classes to meet the fund's specific objectives. However, the open-end company may stop selling new shares in a fund if it decides the fund has grown too large to invest additional assets effectively. In contrast, when a closed-end investment company creates a fund, it issues only a limited number of shares, and those shares trade on the secondary market as shares of stock do. If you purchase fund shares directly from the open-end investment company, you pay the current net asset value (NAV) per share. You also redeem shares at the NAV that's current at the time you sell. If you buy shares through a broker or other investment professional, you may pay an up-front sales charge, or load. By Barry Norman, Investors Trading Academy - ITA

What is OPEN-END FUND? What does OPEN-END FUND mean? OPEN-END FUND meaning & explanation

02:24
What is OPEN-END FUND? What does OPEN-END FUND mean? OPEN-END FUND meaning - OPEN-END FUND definition - OPEN-END FUND explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Open-end fund (or open-ended fund) is a collective investment scheme which can issue and redeem shares at any time. An investor will generally purchase shares in the fund directly from the fund itself rather than from the existing shareholders. It contrasts with a closed-end fund, which typically issues all the shares it will issue at the outset, with such shares usually being tradable between investors thereafter. Open-ended funds are available in most developed countries, though terminology and operating rules vary. U.S. mutual funds, UK unit trusts and OEICs, European SICAVs, and hedge funds are all examples of open-ended funds. The price at which shares in an open-ended fund are issued or can be redeemed will vary in proportion to the net asset value of the fund, and therefore directly reflects the fund's performance. There may be a percentage charge levied on the purchase of shares or units. Some of these fees are called an initial charge (UK) or 'front-end load' (US). Some fees are charged by a fund on the sale of these units, called a 'close-end load,' that may be waived after several years of owning the fund. Some of the fees cover the cost of distributing the fund by paying commission to the adviser or broker that arranged the purchase. These fees are commonly referred to as 12b-1 fees in US. Not all fund have initial charges; if there are no such charges levied, the fund is "no-load" (US). These charges may represent profit for the fund manager or go back into the fund. Most open-end funds are actively managed, meaning that a portfolio manager picks the securities to buy, although index funds are now growing in popularity. Index funds are open-end funds that attempt to replicate an index, such as the S&P 500, and therefore do not allow the manager to actively choose securities to buy.

Mortgage Investment Corporations Explained

01:56
https://www.alexisassadi.net/free-video/ Hey, it’s Alexis Assadi. In this video, I’m going to explain what mortgage investment corporations are. A mortgage investment corporation, or a MIC, is a Canadian company that lends money against real estate in Canada. That is, it issues mortgage loans secured against properties and profits by charging interest and fees on the loans. If the borrowers default, the MIC can foreclose on the real estate and sell it in order to recoup its capital. At least 50% of a MIC’s holdings must be in residential mortgages, cash or cash equivalents. They don’t pay taxes, so the tax burden is passed onto investors. However, they can usually be held within tax-sheltered accounts, like RRSPs and TFSAs. MIC are especially popular with people who seek income, since they have to pass on 100% of their net income to investors. In theory, a MIC can be a great way to gain exposure to property-backed lending. They can offer high yields, stable revenue distributions and a relatively predictable business model. But, like most other companies, their performance is often contingent on management skill, strategy and care. There have been many MICs that were too aggressive with their loans. Some placed too much capital in the hands of too few borrowers. Others didn’t take quality collateral for their loans. Shareholders bear the brunt of the consequences when defaults occur. As such, it’s important to vet each MIC on a case-by-case basis. One of the key indicators to look for during your research should be a MIC’s average and maximum loan-to-value, or LTV, ratio. This will give you a sense of how aggressive management is willing to be with risk. I have several free articles and videos that can explain LTV to you further. Another due diligence point is to know where, geographically, the MIC in question lends to. In general, it should be in a part of the country where real estate prices are either stable or are expected to rise. If property markets fall, it can threaten the value of the MIC’s collateral. A good MIC can be a great investment. Be sure to read my articles at alexisassadi.net to help with your research. Questions to Ask Before Investing in a Company

02:51
New Jersey business valuations professional, Robert Bonavito, explains what questions you should be asking before deciding to invest in a company. 1. How strong is that company's balance sheet? 2. What's the company's IBIDA? 3. What is the value of their equity? 4. How is the cash flow of the company? 5. What is management look like? Public companies have to provide quarterly financial statements, audited financial statements, every time they do a transaction which is reported on sec.gov. If you choose to make an investment, find what companies are in there and go on this website and see what these public companies are making, what they're doing, and how management feels about competition. Years ago a famous investor, Peter Lynch, he said that how he finds his companies is by going to the mall and looking for products that he likes and he buys it. So that's what a lot of people do, they go and they find a product they like and they buy it. But what Peter Lynch also said is that once he finds a company he likes he does the research. Hours and hours of research. He goes on the security websites, sees how the cash flow of the company is. You need to do both. If you have any questions about any industry, or buying a company, or making an investment, you can go on and get this information for free at security.gov. Everything's there about that company that you can imagine and more. Contact us below or visit our website for more information: http://www.rabcpafirm.com/practices/business-valuations/ Robert A.
