6 Months Later and now a fully decommissioned cryptocurrency mining rig (mainly due to the heat in summer & substantial increase in difficulty) and the results are WAY better than expected... I didn't think this would have been so successful in just half a year, but that same catalyst which I will utilize to put back into the channel is also the reason I am selling - too much too soon. Look forward to giving you part two.

This is why I won't buy a used gpu. I have to assume they are close to end of life from being used as mining cards. I'm surprised you're not getting flogged in the comments for endorsing the sale of mining cards to unsuspecting gamers who will end up paying more in the long run.
Who, the F, would buy a used 1080Ti which has been used for mining 24/7? Who in his right mind would buy such a card??? Really, if you are one such person, please tell me. This card is near death, burned-up, stressed, dusted and made to run at 100% 24/7...

Well I made about 4500$ in just 1 week rendering an animation sequence thanks to my GPUs, now I am about to start on the next one. Some friends told me to mine on my GPUs (two 1080ti), but despite having some investment in ripple, I consider crypto mining unproductive. If you know how to actually use the GPUs do that instead of mining. For those who don't well keep mining and hope it works out.
ffs stop being so profitable, cheap gpus for everyone!
There's no real value or work behind the cryptos, it's a bubble. Also the fact that new cryptos pop out every 6 months - as soon as the older one gets less profitable.
"Your coins are going up because the sucker after you is buying coins. And they’re only buying them because they think that the price will go up."
"those who own bitcoins are trying to persuade everyone who doesn’t own them to buy them." =
"With true investments...we want to keep it secret. We want to be able to keep buying the stock at the lower price. We don’t go around recommending to everyone that they buy the stock, because that would only lead to the price being driven up, making it harder for us to buy in at the low price."
Wait what, you use an electricity graph with prices from 2011? I'm from Denmark and I tell you windpower and other sustainable energy have gone through the roof here so electricity prices are now way way lower than 7 years ago
Tech Yes!! Here's a tip for you: Instead of paying 7% fees once you sell your shit coin for BTC, send it to btcmarkets.net as you only pay a 0.75% fee to sell your btc into Australain dollars, and 0 fee's to withdraw to bank account. I would pay maximum 2 or 3% in the same situation.
So what makes cryptocurrency stocks fall or rise, the cashing out of the virtual currency by miners or the investors themselves trading peoples real world currency they invested ?, There's only so many bitcoin right, with real world currency that's different so who's to say there aren't those who can manipulate this markets fixed amount of virtual currency , those at the top have nothing to lose with you're real world currency going into they're pockets they win either way while eventually everyone else loses everything and the longer this goes on the bigger that loss is going to be

If there was easy profit in the long run, like making money out of air...What would stop Nvidia from making their own private GPUs that would crack any comercial GPU out the windows without any competition?

It's hard times all over the world, the financial crisis in some places isn't helping, which is why I'm happy for men likelike Mr. Simon, he has introduced me to somedo many ways to liberate myself from financial chains, he started by trading for me on binary option, turned my measly $1k Into $11,000... It's crazy and fucking truetrue, he then got me cheap slots on a mining farm where earn $5400 Every week, with all that you're making you hardly feel the interest rate he's collecting. After spending over $7000 myself its not looking to good honestly. $23 a day won't even pay off my initial investment in a year that's also not considering power so it would take you nearly 2 years to pay the hardware off where's the profit?
So he didn't actually make any money, Since his money is still pending and 0 gain sent to his bank account according to this video.
Oh you got so & so bitcoin and it's worth so & so price yet where is the cash, you got scammed, bitcoin is a scam with nothing to back it up yeah go buy your coffee 10x the price of your worthless crpto coins.
I would not be surprised if this cryptocurrency was created by government agencies for free "cash" to use in illegal activities or the federal reserve just to eventually have ones & zero's as currency it would be a technocrats dream to have people work for nothing.
P.S. Hardware Unboxed shouldn't send you any cards and you shouldn't bring them up in any of your videos you been tainted.
supporting crypto is stupid when you are not in the top 5 countries with low energy cost. because you basically support other countries and weaken your own and this is something most people don't want to do. when you read and do some research you will find out that these countries are the winners of this currency no matter if you make some profit. money will move out from high energy cost to low energy cost countries.
"It's free money"
No Brian, it's not. Your crypto is earned by the hashing work done by the GPUs, which consume power, which you pay for. (not to mention the additional maintenance of the rig, and rebalancing/selling of your holdings. It's not free, please don't tell people that.
Way to learn about mining by actually building and running one, and not just talking about it! Glad you picked ZenCash and happy it worked well during this timeframe (I'm a co-founder of ZenCash).
If you or your viewers are thinking about building and scaling a crypto mining operation there's real world advice on my channel from doing this for 2 years and operating over 400 miners in production.
Oh you are the co founder that's nice want to hear something cool? I pulled out $7400 out of my account bought $5x 1070ti's and 1x 1070 started mining Zcash then found Nicehash was more profitable $23 a day won't even pay off my hardware in a year and that's $23 a day with a 1080ti on top so 7 cards also that's not taking into account electricity which would take paying off your hardware even longer where is the profit? Can you explain it to me please I'm not being smart I really want to know where is the profit in mining sorry I just don't see it based on what's displayed on my screen right now $23 pfft my lunch costs more than that.
Be interesting learning how complicating the process is in withdrawing it in Australian Dollars did some research and seen a few visa debit cards some of the overseas banks offered were shut down so looking forward to your experience cashing out I was looking into it to earn a small amount back from a couple of my older cards. but if its near impossible to convert it over to usable cash not going to be much fun. keep us posted mate.
Well I still have a gtx 980 back in the stone age here. Oddly its cheaper for me to get another one of those and put both in SLI than it is for me to go and get a gtx 1080 let alone a 1080 ti which you can get in NZ for $1450 NZD which is not even a quarter of Brians crypto money. The only thing good in NZ is the internet, 900 mb/s down and about 500 up if you go by speed test. or 20 mb/s downloading Arkham Knight through steam. Awesome to see you made money on crypto currency I cannot afford 4 graphics cards let alone one. I have about 25 dollars in litecoin and about 43 cents in bitcoin. As for the whole expensive graphics cards try living in New Zealand the only cheap enough cards are AMD, Nvidia's card I would have to sell some of my fat or a kidney for. They have always been this expensive here even before cryptocurrency became as big as it has. What GPU makes need to do is target their audience, Make a bitcoin mining card that blows everything away and start a separate line of video cards. Sure RND cost money, but in the end you have a bigger market. You can then have gaming cards that are hopefully cheaper and you can have crypto cards that are mainly built for mining.
I've tested Multiple 1070ti SLI and 1080ti SLI scaling is terrible I offered my opinion Bro you want a second card go hard you sound pretty keen anyways see for yourself IMO better off selling that 980 putting the rest to it and buying a 1070 its all you really need Bro IMO anything higher is a waste unless you own a pricy Gsync monitor but go hard Man.
Greetings from Sydney my Commonwealth Brother.
Not if you cannot afford a gtx 1080 its not. As far as I know its a hardware interface that the Nvidia driver links in to so it should still work unless windows 10 does something weird to make it not work that I don't know of.
Another thing in the conversation "just buy the cryptocurrency vs. mining cryptocurrency" is that not everyone might have the investment capital needed to get going while they might already have a powerful computer that can get them going with mining.
I have been involved in crypto since 2012. Here is my secret list of legitimate cryptocurrency companies I have used for years.
These are real bitcoin investments and cloud mining services, exchanged, and faucets that you should look into. I've used them all since at least 2016. I've used the mining sites and Vaultoro exchange since before bitcoin was $220 a coin. I have never had a problem, and my correspondence with customer support was always excellent.
Minergate: This program turns any computer, tablet or smart phone into a cryptocurrency miner. Very simple interface. An exchange is built into there website. Use free wallet for fee free withdraws from your minergate dashboard. Mining simplified for everyone
Genesis Cloud Mining: Best and most trusted cloud contracts since 2015. This is the best company period. Jump on any of their contracts immediately because they sell out fast. I have now tripled my original investment.
For a discount on your first purchase use coupon code: 07869
Hashflare Cloud Mining: Second best to Genesis. Many types of altcoin contracts available. Cheaper then Genesis. I've never had a problem. They may be starting to run low on contracts. Coins can be withdrawn or reinvested. Excellent returns.
discount code: 2D76DB0D
Xcoins: They have been the best and fastest Coinbase alternative I've ever found. This is also the best place to buy bitcoin with a credit card or PayPal quickly (less then 3 min after account is made). I sell all my Bitcoin here because they have the highest returns I've found to date.
Vaultoro: The only Bitcoin and Gold Bullion exchange. Trade your bitcoins for gold or gold for bitcoins
Changlley: minergates crypto exchange. You can also buy cryptocurrencies with a credit card.
QuionPro: The very latest cryptocurrency investment company and news hub!
Free coins every day!
Free Dogecoin: the highest paying dogecoin faucet for years!
Free Bitcoin: The highest paying bitcoin faucet for years!
Enjoy! These are the places that have stood the test of time. They've stayed open when bitcoin prices were below $220 years ago. They must be doing something right for their customers. No scam could live as long as they have.
I hate the fact that this mining crap is making prices skyrocket, even used Video cards like a GTX 760 some people are selling them for over $200 USD, These stores are all sold out. But hey its a free market I guess, I mean a GTX 1060 costs more than my 1st 3 cars xD
