I am also a physics student...and I think though he did not get Nobel, but he is within the mind of all science students(not physics alone) all over the world for his unique work....We do not remember the name of a lot of Nobel awarded physicists, but Bose will be there forever...most importantly, one of the basis constituents of the universe is made by his name...Boson....Wish U a Very Happy Birthday Sir Bose(1st Jan, 2018.)
Actually most of Indian physicists know that he was a Bengali...and I believe the foreigners who are currently working on Boson Statistics also know this....since he opened entirely new branch of statistical physics, named Boson Statistics , so who ever is working on it know at least something about him...I am talking about a part of the physics community in the world, others may not know him, as they do not work in that particular field. But the good thing is that he was known to Einstein as we know and some of the very famous physicists like Dirac, Feynmann, Gell-Mann etc...I have talked with several foreigners studying in this field and they know him well enough in my PhD institute, but I think it is our turn to make him introduce with people who are not in science stream or not aware of him...
Debesh Bhattacharjee i read somewhere that during a speech in a conference Paul Dirac mistakenly uttered the words 'Nobel laureate S Bose' many a times only to realiselater at his surprise that Bose indeed hadn't won it!
Yes, It's an error on the part of the narrator and we are sorry about it. Everywhere in the video at different times and also, in the description, we have mentioned his birth year as 1894. It's an error we apologize, and hope to take care of in future.
Thanks a lot for bringing it to our notice.
