Discover how to start a business when you have a full time job. Starting your own business is definitely a fantastic route to take to create your own destiny. The challenge is, most people are stuck with their "full time job", which doesn't allow them the time or energy to really start their business and get it off the ground running. Not only that, but other commitments can get in the way - friends, family, your social life, other activities, etc... This is not only a problem that I've encountered when I first decided to start my own business, but it's something many others have faced as well. I recently received a message from a follower of PLM asking how they can start their own business while working a part-time job and I decided to create a video blog post to share my answer.

Helpful video, even almost four years later :) I have young children, though, so I worry that it's damaging to them for me to focus exclusively on my business. I need to factor their needs into my schedule, because it feels unfair for me to sacrifice their well-being no matter how successful I can be ultimately. I won't get their early years back...I had no idea that Vancouver was so expensive! I live in SF Bay area, though, so I understand. I would never think to leave the country just to cut down on cost of living. Is that a typical strategy for folks in Vancouver? Maybe I should consider it :)
Jarod Billingslea rent is just a bill that would come from your 9-5. maybe take an hour or so on weekends for personal chores, appointments, groceries, cleaning. but sometimes even those chores have to fall on the wayside if you have a deadline for your business
I like this footage. There are a lot of ways to earn cash online. Clouded Cash Cow has been making my mum over $1,750 every 7 days for the past year. Discover how you can too. Search Google for the phrase Clouded Cash Cow :)
For what is worth you answered my question. Especially when you told your personal story about quitting your job. So often I feel like that's what I would love to do, but I came to the conclusion that I just have to sacrifice more free time. Your point was well made.
The title of the video is based on the e-mail question I received from the person, and this is my response. You start a business while having a full-time job by MAKING THE TIME FOR IT. While you have your job, you must commit your weekends and evenings to do what it takes to get your new business off the ground and make it successful. I said this in the video, and it's relevant to the title, and it should answers your question. :-)
So where is the part about "How To Start A Business When You Have A Full Time Job"? This video should have been called, "How many different ways can I say the same thing about sacrifice". Not trying to be a jerk, but it bothers me when the content of a video is not what the title suggests.
It's called a credit card. :-) I still had an income come in, but it wasn't much and I made a sacrifice to live on my friends couch so I could pay off credit card debt that I had. The great thing about Thailand is you can live for only a couple hundred dollars per month, whereas in Vancouver to have your own place and live costs a couple thousand per month. Turns out it was a good financial decision at the time too!
The E-Myth is good, along with The 4 Hour Work Week. I have some reviews of those up on my blog if you search for them. Another one I enjoyed was one called F.U. Money by Dan Lok, not sure if you can find it anymore, but it's geared towards internet marketing and really motivated me when I first started out. I prefer a lot of online courses or programs for learning business-related stuff rather than books.
Check out my latest video blog titled The Easiest Way To Make Passive Income Online. I share some easier methods that I currently use to making money online, which doesn't require good English at all or any technical computer skills. :-)
Hello Stefan. I have been following you for a while now and it all startet with the 'How to make passive income online' videoblog you made. I started out on ClickBank and Niche Profit Class Room as you said you were doing. Both them got too hard for me as English is my second language.Interestingly I stumbled across something that has just changed my life. I am not allowed to share any links here but will happily share with anyone over email: [email protected] (say you come from here)
It sounds like you missed the message b/c you were too busy being critical and punching holes in HIS story. His idea of being poor is not your idea or even my idea since we are all different people with different life experiences. He is making his life an example for you and his message is sacrificing your comforts to achieve your Dreams.
He was poor to the point where he couldn't afford to live on his own in Vancouver because it is very expensive to live there. I'm sure he had some money saved or even borrowed from somebody in order to fly to Thailand. Stefan's story is incredibly inspirational and should be appreciated, not questioned in this manner.
If he was so broke he was living on someone's couch, how did he afford to get to Thailand? Then he was so poor but he made it to the gym to work out? I think his idea of poor and my idea of poor are different.
great videos! I get everytime a lot of energy when I watch them!
Just signed in for the 100days challenge, now I am thinking about which goals I can set myself! Any inspirations on how to create new goals? Thanks!
Great video Stefan! I've learned recently that unless you want success as much as you want to breathe, you won't be successful. Thank you for reminding us how much hard work it takes in order to live an extraordinary life.
This is an inspirational video and I appreciate the fact that you point out the reality of setting up your business and the sacrifices you needed to make. Too many motivational speakers focus on telling us what we want to hear, they neglect to tell us just how much work it's going to take.
Are there any business books, videos or other resources you could recommend?
