Chris I accidentally stripped one of the thread holes for the fuel pumped to be bolted to the gas tank. Will i have problems keeping like this or do i have to tap it?
Cristofer Gonzalez (3 days ago)
Wait the gas that comes out goes back in right?
Markus R. (3 days ago)
I would replace the whole assembly, just so that I get all brand new parts and I never have to think about dropping the tank again

Mine acts like its running out of gas when it's got half a tank in it then shuts off , after about 7mins it will start run fine to a few mins then does it again...try starting it ot refuses.
Stephen Biggs (7 days ago)
i don't know why the car started when he did not replace to fuel
GiavaTube (7 days ago)
Why you have to clutch down to start the car since the car is neutral???
Yatesy (7 days ago)
Some cars require the car to be started with the clutch in no matter what gear it's in, including neutral

Is the pump relay location same for mustang 2000?
canalgamingchannel (5 days ago)
brocktemple25 the location of the pump relay on mustang 99 04 is located under the right fender ! I just got my pump change and right now the mechanic. Is removing the thieft because the car won’t start
brocktemple25 (6 days ago)
I an wondering the same??? My stang is having issues staying running after a few mins of driving or just sitting at idle. It refuses to start after 5mins or so it will start an run fine till a few mins later it does it all over again.

I have an 04 mustang GT, and it doesn't have a shrader valve unfortunately but, I disconnected the fuel line right before the filter and no fuel came out when the key was in the run position so I'm pretty sure it's the fuel pump and I made sure all the electrical components were good.

Mike Fcukington (24 days ago)
This video is great but you Didn't show the exact location of the fuel pump relay and I got my interior trim off and I can not for the life of me find it, I got a 98 cobra mustang and I am looking there and I do not see it, you just show it all the sudden in your hand like some magic trick without showing its exact location what the heck
Mike Fcukington (24 days ago)
Well I managed to find ways to test and by pass the relays and everything and still not hear the fuel pump so its gotta be the fuel pump.
The gaming beast (25 days ago)

You didn’t clean the top of the tank before removing the sending unit, you gotta make sure no trash or dirt falls inside, as a mechanic this is one of your least professional videos, I’ve been watching you for the past 3 years now
Gavan Napper (1 month ago)
I just got a 2000 v6 and had to put a fuel pump on it and found that it needs a filler neck and seal because it rusted through (so sad a new filler neck is surprisingly expensive)
Zack Ryan (1 month ago)
You don’t have to remove the fillerneck. Just take all hoses and connectors to the fuel tank off it’s easier. Depending on the vehicle

I have a 1999 Ford Explorer 5.0 I've had to double prime it for a while on start up, one day it refused to start, pretty much did everything in the video (minus checking with multi meter - will be getting one soon), I even replaced the fuel pump, there is still no sound of priming and still no starting. cranks but no gas. Any ideas folks?

Another great video Chris! NB Miata owners be aware the relay under dash just above gas pedal (green in color) doesnt switch on until key is in START position so won’t hear pump humming until then! Just replaced mine today

I see Ford still hasn't figured out where to put a gas tank.

How much should this cost? I had my catalytic converter, o2 sensors fixed and car still having trouble starting with church engine light. Seems like my mechanic is guessing and spending a lot of money. Help!

Best to do it at your house. I remember I had to replace a fuel pump for my 1999 Ford Taurus and I didn't have the tools or the know how to replace it myself. I ended up buying a fuel pump by itself and took it to a shop to have it installed, yet being a young guy, they scammed me by telling me they had to replace the entire fuel pump assembly, which was in decent shape as is. They ended up charging me an extra $200 after I had bought the pump by itself previously. Bunch of scumbags. Not to mention they charged me extra to have it installed.

Zachery Huber (1 month ago)
Ok I got a question for you good sir. Have a 99 mustang 5 speed new battery new fuses relays are good. But here's the problem it's a brand new fuel pump not even two weeks old. Turn the key car cranks over. But no fuel. Keep in mind it's a brand new fuel pump getting power to the fuel pump but its not kicking on. Checked the inertia switch it seems OK. Also removed the fuel pump driver module hiding in the trunk and ordered new one haven't received it yet. But any ideas on what could be wrong. Any advice will help

Zachery Huber one issue I almost had was 1 single connector was not connected when I installed the new pump and that was enough for the entire assembly to fail
Zachery Huber (1 month ago)
I also have a 99 mustang replaced everhthign battery fuses are good relays are good. Installed new fuel pump and I don't hear the pump kick on when key is turned. Getting power to the fuel pump but don't hear it whine. Checked inertia switch it's seems OK also removed the fuel pump driver module in the trunk and ordered new one waiting on it. But any advice would help greatly

I love how everything seems so easy for you!! If I were replacing the fuel pump I would have check engine lights before even I connect the battery back.
Oskar Sundell (2 months ago)
I had my fuel pump replaced and it worked for a couple of weeks. Then it only started every other time. Right now it doesn't start at all and is stranded 200km from home.
Oskar Sundell (1 month ago)
+ChrisFix Me and my friends got to the car this weekend and took the old fuel pump out and it sounded horrible. It ran outside of the tank but not in it for some reason. (we tried starting the engine before taking it out. No sound from the fuel pump) We replaced the old fuel pump with a new Bosch one and now it runs well.
Oskar Sundell (2 months ago)
+ChrisFixThanks for the quick reply. :) I got the pump from my friend who's a mechanic and he replaced my pump with a working one from his car. Would be sad if the pump is faulty again. I'll get back to you when I get a chance to look at the car. Maybe somebody will find my findings useful in the future.

Thank you so much Chris Fix. I learned so much from you. Should I THANK YOU or BLAME YOU? I saved money so I didn’t have to pay a auto mechanic and that we almost had to buy a new car. ( new car means higher property taxes, insurance premiums) Or blame you because I’m still driving an old 2001 model. And can’t enjoy a new vehicle. LOL. Thanks again. Your the best.

To pressure test the pump, I would try cranking the engine. Same thing if you wanted to see if the pump was getting power.
John Doe (2 months ago)
He disconnected the power to the fuel pump then checked to see if the fuel pump would work with a pressure gauge 🤔

Did this on a 350z, (wasnt the fuel pump the tank was leaking) WORSE experiance of my life. in this it's just 2 bolts but for the 350 you literally have to drop the rear under frame brake/suspension assembly just to get to the bolts of the straps that hold the tank

Dang that stinks
