I took a pre-employment background and drug test on the 19th of July and today is the 7th of August and it still hasn’t came back according to the hr lady who works for the company I applied to. I received a copy of my results in the mail a few days before calling her to check the status of everything and she told me they are still waiting for my results. If I received my results why haven’t the hr lady/company received anything since they are the ones who actually requested the background check? That don’t make sense to me so I feel like I’m being given the run around instead of them just telling me I didn’t pass the background check because I’m a 💯% sure I passed the drug test.....

Bear in mind that background check companies simply follow the instructions of the employer. They don't reserach anything the employer hasn't asked them to check. It's not all automated, either. People review the findings before passing them along to the employer.
